[Method] By using 0.2 mg/ml ellagic acid standard solution, on the basis of single-factor experiment and orthogonal experiment, chromatographic conditions (mobile phase ratio, flow rate, col- umn temperature) for detecting ellagic acid using HPLC were optimized. Based on the optimal chromatographic conditions, the ellagic acid content in experimental pomegranate peels was determined. [Resull] The optimal chromatographic conditions for detecting ellagic acid in pomegranate peels using HPLC method are: 1.2% phos- phoric acid:acetonitrile=85:15, column temperature of 35 ℃, and flow rate of 1.0 ml/min. The linear regression equation of ellagic acid is: y=2.9e+0.6x+4.4e+5 (FF=9 999). Ac- cording to the standard addition recovery test, the average recovery rate of ellagic acid is 98.20%, and RSD is 0.60%. Under above optimized chromatographic condi- tions, ellagic acid can be well separated from other interfering components in pomegranate peels, with shorter peak time and ideal effect, which is convenient for the detection in production practices. [Conclusion] This study laid the foundation for detecting ellagic acid in pomegranate peels using HPLC method.展开更多

A mini-column filled with amberlite resin (weak cation exchanger) was introduced to the flow system. A 200 laL of the sample was injected into the carrier stream through the injection valve. The merged streams were passed through a quartz flow cell in a spectrophotometer connected to recorder. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration curve was linear in the range 0.02-1.5 μg mL^-1 of histamine using the peak height as an analytical signal, while the detection limit was 0.01 μg mL^-1. The precision and accuracy of the method were studied depending upon the values of the relative standard deviation and relative error percentage. The selectivity of the method was investigated by studying the effect of interference from other species accompanied with histamine in fish meal. Under the optimum conditions, the system was used for on line separation, preconcentration of histamine. The proposed method was applied for the determination of histamine in fish meal. The results were compared with the standard method and a good agreement between the results was obtained.展开更多

We find that the production cross section is larger than that of the p...In the context of topcolor-assisted technicolor (TC2) model, we study the charged and neutral top-pions production process γγ →W+ ∏t-∏t^0. We find that the production cross section is larger than that of the process γγ→ W+ H-H in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. With reasonable values of the parameters in the TC2 model, the cross section can reach the level of a few fb. Furthermore, the flavor-changing (FC) decay mode ∏t^0 → te^- is the best channel to detect the neutral top-pion due to the clean SM background. With a large number of events and the clean background, the neutral top-pion should be observable at future linear colliders operating in γγ mode at the TeV energy scale.展开更多

Criteria based on minimizing the sum of absolute relative errors (MRE) and the sum of squared relative errors (RLS...Relative error rather than the error itself is of the main interest in many practical applications. Criteria based on minimizing the sum of absolute relative errors (MRE) and the sum of squared relative errors (RLS) were proposed in the different areas. Motivated by K. Chen et al.'s recent work [J. Amer. Statist. Assoc., 2010, 105: 1104-1112] on the least absolute relative error (LARE) estimation for the accelerated failure time (AFT) model, in this paper, we establish the connection between relative error estimators and the M-estimation in the linear model. This connection allows us to deduce the asymptotic properties of many relative error estimators (e.g., LARE) by the well-developed M-estimation theories. On the other hand, the asymptotic properties of some important estimators (e.g., MRE and RLS) cannot be established directly. In this paper, we propose a general relative error criterion (GREC) for estimating the unknown parameter in the AFT model. Then we develop the approaches to deal with the asymptotic normalities for M-estimators with differentiable loss functions on R or R/{0} in the linear model. The simulation studies are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed estimates for the different scenarios. Illustration with a real data example is also provided.展开更多
A method was developed for the analysis of hydroxylated brominated diphenyl ethers (OH-PBDEs) in plant samples using an ultra performance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (UPLC-ESI-MS/MS) in n...A method was developed for the analysis of hydroxylated brominated diphenyl ethers (OH-PBDEs) in plant samples using an ultra performance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (UPLC-ESI-MS/MS) in negative mode. Plant samples were extracted and cleaned up through florisil column, resolved on a 100 mm C18 column with linear gradient elution and detected by mass spectrometry in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. The method provided good recoveries rang- ing from 68.2% to 94.6%, relative standard deviation (RSD) in the range of 3.2% - 9.1%, and limits of quantification (LOQ) defined as the signal-to-noise ratio of 10 of 0.3-2.1 ng/g. It allowed a fast separation and sensitive quantification of the isomers and homologues of seven OH-PBDE congeners 2′-OH-BDE-3, 3′-OH-BDE-7, 4′-OH-BDE-17, 3′-OH-BDE-28, 3-OH-BDE-47, 5-OH-BDE-47 and 6-OH-BDE-47. The method was successfully applied to identify and quantify the formation of hydroxylat- ed metabolites in alfalfa exposed to BDE-209. Five OH-PBDEs were detected in plant tissues, and more congeners were found in roots than in shoots. To our knowledge, this work represents the first attempt to validate UPLC-MS/MS method to quantify OH-PBDEs in plant samples without derivatization.展开更多
