In the present study, the authors attempted to shed a light on the possible relationships between lipid per oxidation markers, serum malondialdehyde (MDA) with the effect of mercury exposure using serum samples obta...In the present study, the authors attempted to shed a light on the possible relationships between lipid per oxidation markers, serum malondialdehyde (MDA) with the effect of mercury exposure using serum samples obtained from 100 mercury exposed dentals due to their occupation. These dentals were divided into two groups according to their occupational period. The third group consists of healthy volunteers that were working outside the mercury factories as a control group. The present results showed that mercury levels increased with the increasing of their occupation period. The highest level was 5.7 μg/dl, compared to the control group which was 0.1 μg/dl., The level of MDA was elevated in the workers and the highest level was found to be 41.00 nmol/dL for workers with longest period compared to the control group 8.6 nmol/dL. Some serum antioxidants such as vitamin A, E and albumin were evaluated and were found to be lower in all workers compared to the control group. The present results showed that Mg levels increased with the increasing of their occupation period and were found to be lower in Zn, Se of all workers compared to the control group.展开更多
The aldolization of various isatins with creatinine under gold catalysis in water has been developed.The reaction is operationally simple as the products can be isolated by simple filtration without requiring tedious ...The aldolization of various isatins with creatinine under gold catalysis in water has been developed.The reaction is operationally simple as the products can be isolated by simple filtration without requiring tedious solvent extraction and column chromatographic techniques.The generality of this methodology is showcased through the reactions of a wide range of isatin derivatives with creatinine to afford the respective aldol products in excellent yields with complete syn‐selectivity.The scope of this chemistry is further extended to a tandem reaction involving isatins,creatinine and malononitrile to afford multicomponent products in excellent yields with complete anti‐selectivity.The antioxidant potency of the synthesized compound was assessed by a spectrophotometric method,which revealed that three compounds containing halogen atoms(2c,2d and2e)were the most active compared with the standard.展开更多
In order to solve the problems of artifacts and noise in low-dose computed tomography(CT)images in clinical medical diagnosis,an improved image denoising algorithm under the architecture of generative adversarial netw...In order to solve the problems of artifacts and noise in low-dose computed tomography(CT)images in clinical medical diagnosis,an improved image denoising algorithm under the architecture of generative adversarial network(GAN)was proposed.First,a noise model based on style GAN2 was constructed to estimate the real noise distribution,and the noise information similar to the real noise distribution was generated as the experimental noise data set.Then,a network model with encoder-decoder architecture as the core based on GAN idea was constructed,and the network model was trained with the generated noise data set until it reached the optimal value.Finally,the noise and artifacts in low-dose CT images could be removed by inputting low-dose CT images into the denoising network.The experimental results showed that the constructed network model based on GAN architecture improved the utilization rate of noise feature information and the stability of network training,removed image noise and artifacts,and reconstructed image with rich texture and realistic visual effect.展开更多
The present study aimed at exploring different roles of the same compound in different environment, using preparative HPLC, and the significance to investigating bio-active constituents in traditional Chinese medicine...The present study aimed at exploring different roles of the same compound in different environment, using preparative HPLC, and the significance to investigating bio-active constituents in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on the basis of holism. In this study, the depletion of target component ferulic acid (FA) by using preparative HPLC followed by antioxidant activity testing was applied to investigate the roles of FA in Angelicae Sinansis Radix (DG), Chuanxiong Rhizoma (CX) and their combination (GX). The antioxidant activity was performed by 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical-scavenging activity testing. FA was successfully and exclusively depleted from DG, CX, and GX, respectively. By comparing the effects of the samples, it was found that FA was one of the main antioxidant constituents in DG, CX and GX, and the roles of FA were DG 〉 CX 〉 GX. Furthermore, the effects of FA varied at different doses in these herbs. This study provided a reliable and effective approach to clarifying the contribution of same compound in different TCMs to their bio-activities. The role of a constituent in different TCMs might be different, and a component with the same content might have different effects in different chemical environments. Furthermore, this study also suggested the potential utilization of preparative HPLC in the characterization of the roles of multi-ingredients in TCM.展开更多
