We use the iterative least squares with projection (ILSP) algorithm initializedby the pilot to get the estimation. The accuracy of channel estimation and symbol detection can beprogressively increased through the iteration procedure of the ILSP algorithm. Simulation resultsdemonstrate that the proposed algorithm improves the system performance effectively compared withthe conventional 2-D RAKE receiver.展开更多

Higher-order topological phases give rise to new bulk and boundary physics,as well as new classes of topological phase transitions.While the realization of higher-order topological phases has been confirmed in many pl...Higher-order topological phases give rise to new bulk and boundary physics,as well as new classes of topological phase transitions.While the realization of higher-order topological phases has been confirmed in many platforms by detecting the existence of gapless boundary modes,a direct determination of the higher-order topology and related topological phase transitions through the bulk in experiments has still been lacking.To bridge the gap,in this work we carry out the simulation of a twodimensional second-order topological phase in a superconducting qubit.Owing to the great flexibility and controllability of the quantum simulator,we observe the realization of higher-order topology directly through the measurement of the pseudo-spin texture in momentum space of the bulk for the first time,in sharp contrast to previous experiments based on the detection of gapless boundary modes in real space.Also through the measurement of the evolution of pseudo-spin texture with parameters,we further observe novel topological phase transitions from the second-order topological phase to the trivial phase,as well as to the first-order topological phase with nonzero Chern number.Our work sheds new light on the study of higher-order topological phases and topological phase transitions.展开更多

The spatial dependence of the atomic spontaneous emissio...We study a quantum electrodynamics(QED) system made of a two-level atom and a semi-infinite rectangular waveguide, which behaves as a perfect mirror in one end. The spatial dependence of the atomic spontaneous emission has been included in the coupling strength relevant to the eigenmodes of the waveguide. The role of retardation is studied for the atomic transition frequency far away from the cutoff frequencies. The atom-mirror distance introduces different phases and retardation times into the dynamics of the atom interacting resonantly with the corresponding transverse modes. It is found that the upper state population decreases from its initial as long as the atom-mirror distance does not vanish, and is lowered and lowered when more and more transverse modes are resonant with the atom. The atomic spontaneous emission can be either suppressed or enhanced by adjusting the atomic location for short retardation time.There are partial revivals and collapses due to the photon reabsorbed and re-emitted by the atom for long retardation time.展开更多

By using scanning tunneling microscopy(STM)/spectroscopy(STS), we systematically characterize the electronic structure of lightly doped 1 T-TiSe_2, and demonstrate the existence of the electronic inhomogeneity and the...By using scanning tunneling microscopy(STM)/spectroscopy(STS), we systematically characterize the electronic structure of lightly doped 1 T-TiSe_2, and demonstrate the existence of the electronic inhomogeneity and the pseudogap state. It is found that the intercalation induced lattice distortion impacts the local band structure and reduce the size of the charge density wave(CDW) gap with the persisted 2 × 2 spatial modulation. On the other hand, the delocalized doping electrons promote the formation of pseudogap. Domination by either of the two effects results in the separation of two characteristic regions in real space, exhibiting rather different electronic structures. Further doping electrons to the surface confirms that the pseudogap may be the precursor for the superconducting gap. This study suggests that the competition of local lattice distortion and the delocalized doping effect contribute to the complicated relationship between charge density wave and superconductivity for intercalated 1 T-TiSe_2.展开更多
