The reflectance spectra of saline soils were measured using a spectroradiometerin laboratory. The mean spectral curves of the saline soils from the two sites different inreclamation year showed that the saline soil taken from the recently reclaimed land with highersalinity demonstrated a lower reflectance intensity in the spectral region from about 550 nm to 2300nm. In addition, nine absorption bands, i.e., 488 nm, 530 nm, 670 nm, 880 nm, 940 nm, 1400 nm, 1900nm, 2 200 nm and 2 300 nm, were chosen as the spectral bands to investigate the relationshipsbetween soil physico-chemical properties by means of Pearson correlation analysis. Finally, thefirst two principal components were calculated from nine absorption bands and used to discriminatethe saline soil samples taken from two sampled fields. The results indicate that it is feasible todetect physico-chemical properties of saline soils from fields reclaimed for varying time periods onthe basis of the hyperspectral data.展开更多

[Methods] Sample preparation and observation were both carried out by conventional transmission electron microscopy. [ Results] It was showed by transmission electron microscopy that the initial callus cells had a large central vacuole, which squeezed its cytoplasm to be a thin layer around the brim of cell, Meanwhile the nuclear was also squeezed to distribute in the corner of cell, but its nucleolus could be still observed; Compared embryogenic callus with initial callus, its cell wall became thick, and many starch grains and chloroplasts including starch grains could be observed in the cytoplasm area of cell membrane; In non-embryoenic callus, no organelles except for the vacuole could be observed; In browning callus, there was almost no organelles in cells. [ Conclusion] There are significant differences in different types of flax callus at the cell ultrastructure level, which can be as an index for reflecting the differentiation ability of callus cell.展开更多

The spatial resolution ...Although remote sensing data have been used to estimate total suspended matter (TSM) in coastal waters, it has limitations when applied to estuary waters in low spatial resolution situations. The spatial resolution of ocean color satellites such as SeaWiFS and MODIS is usually -1 km, and therefore is not adequate for small, local-scale areas such as the Zhujiang (Pearl) River estuary. In contrast, 30 m-resolution EO-1 Hyperion imagery has potential for studying TSM in localized areas. We measured the surface spectral radiance reflectance of the river estuary water in the visible and near infra-red spectral range. Sensitivity analysis indicated that the ratio of remote sensing reflectance at 813 nm (Rrs(813)) to reflectance at 559 nm (Rrs(559)) could be used to estimate TSM concentration, and a linear relationship was established between the ratio and in-situ TSM concentration. We applied the linear relationship to Hyperion imagery to map TSM concentration in the estuary. The Hyperion imagery provided sufficient spatial resolution to detect spatiotemporal changes in TSM concentrations in the estuary small estuary area. This study demonstrated the usefulness of Hyperion imagery for mapping the distribution of TSM in estuary waters. Keyword: Hyperion; total suspended matter (TSM); Zhujiang (Pearl) River estuary展开更多

To study the in-vitro effect of UVBR on G. lemaneiformis, this plant was cultivated and exposed to photosynthetically active radiation(PAR) at 40 μmol photons/(m2 ·s) and enhanced UVBR(0,0.36,0.72,1.08,1.44,and 1.80 k J/(m 2 ·d)) for 13 days. The samples were processed for histochemical analysis, and the growth rate, photosynthetic pigment contents, photosynthetic performance, reactive oxygen species levels, membrane permeability, malonyl dialdehyde contents and antioxidant capacity of G. lemaneiformis were investigated. After 13 days of exposure to PAR+UVBR,G. lemaneiformis showed photodamage and photoinhibition of photosynthetic pigments(chlorophylla and phycoerythrin),leading to a decreased photosynthetic efficiency. Further, there was a corresponding decrease in the relative growth rates and depigmentation and partial necrosis of the apical segments were noted after exposure to PAR+UVBR. Additionally,UVBR induced excess production of superoxide radicals and hydrogen peroxide, eliciting a marked cellular membrane damage and antioxidative response.展开更多

Agetolites is a peculiar coral possessing features of both tabulate (e.g., mural pores) and rugose corals (e.g., welldeveloped septa). Septal patterns have long been considered to be indicative of the origin of corals, and the pattern of septal insertion in Agetolites has been known to be typical of rugosans. This study, however, reveals that the patterns in Ageto lites are rather random and cannot be an indication of its rugosan affinity. It is suggested that Agetolites probably has a closer phylogenetic relation with tabulates than with either rugosans or scleractinians. Two insertion patterns of the first six septa were detected (Types I and II). Type I is interpreted as scleractinian pattern whereas Type II as typical pattern of rugosans. Types 1 and 2 are septal patterns of the second stage recognized in this study. Type 1 insertion occurs in six sectors located in the center of each interseptal space, suggesting scleractinian pattern of insertion. Type 2 insertion occurs in four sectors that are comparable with alar and counter sectors in rugose corals. Four patterns of the third (Types AD) and fourth stages (Types ad) of septal insertion have also been recognized in Agetolites. Type A only occurs in two adjacent sectors possibly due to the in completeness of septal development. Type B presents rugosan pattern. Types C and D resemble scleractinian pattern in most aspects. Types a, b, and c present no clear attribution to rugosan or scleractinian pattern probably due to the incompleteness of septal development whereas Type d is observable in rugose corals.展开更多
