Project teaching stud...At present, a new teaching model - Project Approach rises in English education. Project teaching is a student-centered, inquiry-centered practice, with project activities centered learning model. Project teaching students focus on learning strategies to help students become independent learners, to improve students' motivation to help students learn practical ability, communication skills, collaboration skills, creative thinking skills and the ability to solve practical problems. Project-based learning in the late 1990s was introduced in China. Within ten years, research project studying abroad connotation, significance and theoretical foundation, extension are applied research to classroom practice. However, most of the research object of the project is teaching primary and secondary students, higher education, adult education and general higher education students in science and engineering students. Research related to the field of English teaching is not much; the theory is applied to the case of teaching practice rarely. Therefore, this article introduced the project teaching college English classroom, through the implementation of the teaching aims to stimulate the enthusiasm of the students, so that students learn more explicit goals, enhance self- confidence and motivation to learn, to develop their creativity, initiative and independent learning and the purpose of learning ability.展开更多
This study aims to investigate technology-integrated language learning courses that benefit elementary language learners' desire to learn English (motivation) and how they are related to the student's performance....This study aims to investigate technology-integrated language learning courses that benefit elementary language learners' desire to learn English (motivation) and how they are related to the student's performance. Theories guiding this investigation included Dornyei's L2 Motivational Self System and Gardner's Socio Psychological System to describe language learners' desire to learn (motivation). Thirty-five 3rd grade elementary school students, who are learning English with technology at school, were included in this study. The result indicates that the features of technology students like to use while learning have positive and significant correlation with desire to learn English (motivation); and their previous technology learning experience and motivation have significant influence on their final grade. This final analysis could provide a guideline for EFL teachers or students who are in teacher training programs to integrate technology into their future courses.展开更多

The results of a students strategy inventory indicate that (1) High-scoring students had a frequent use of the learning strategies, and there were striking differences between high-scoring and low-scoring students in their use of the cognitive strategies, affective strategies and social strategies. (2) Cognitive strategies and metacognitive strategies demonstrated significant correlation with the scores of high-scoring students while cognitive strategies and social strategies demonstrated significant correlation with the scores of low-scoring students. Finally, some practical suggestions are made for English teachers.展开更多
Generative adversarial network(GAN) is the most exciting machine learning breakthrough in recent years,and it trains the learning model by finding the Nash equilibrium of a two-player zero-sum game.GAN is composed of ...Generative adversarial network(GAN) is the most exciting machine learning breakthrough in recent years,and it trains the learning model by finding the Nash equilibrium of a two-player zero-sum game.GAN is composed of a generator and a discriminator,both trained with the adversarial learning mechanism.In this paper,we introduce and investigate the use of GAN for novelty detection.In training,GAN learns from ordinary data.Then,using previously unknown data,the generator and the discriminator with the designed decision boundaries can both be used to separate novel patterns from ordinary patterns.The proposed GAN-based novelty detection method demonstrates a competitive performance on the MNIST digit database and the Tennessee Eastman(TE) benchmark process compared with the PCA-based novelty detection methods using Hotelling's T^2 and squared prediction error statistics.展开更多
