We reported a case of 79-year old woman with known large bowel diverticulosis presenting with small bowel obstruction due to stone impaction - found on plain abdominal X-ray.Contrast studies demonstrated small bowel d...We reported a case of 79-year old woman with known large bowel diverticulosis presenting with small bowel obstruction due to stone impaction - found on plain abdominal X-ray.Contrast studies demonstrated small bowel diverticulosis.At laparotomy, the gall bladder was normal with no stones and no abnormal communication with small bowel - excluding the possibility of a gallstone ileus. Analysis of the stone revealed a composition of bile pigments and calcium oxalate.This was a rare case of small bowel obstruction due to enterolith formation - made distinctive by calcification (previously unreported in the proximal small bowel).展开更多
The paper presents the method of the valuation of random noise in the photogrammetric images, based on wavelets. The proposed method involves the analysis of the dynamics of the components of wavelet decomposition on ...The paper presents the method of the valuation of random noise in the photogrammetric images, based on wavelets. The proposed method involves the analysis of the dynamics of the components of wavelet decomposition on several resolution levels. The hypothesis was made that the noise-free images are characterized by systematically growing variances of the single components with growing decomposition. This hypothesis was. studied on several dozen fragments of airborne images recorded both with a photogrammetric analogue camera and digital camera. For all the studied photos taken with a digital camera, the hypothesis of growing variances of details was confirmed. The images from an analogue camera had different dynamics of variance, and the cause was recognized as random noise, caused by the grains from of the photographs. Referring to earlier applications of wavelets to noise evaluation, the proposed method is characterized by smaller dependence upon the structure and texture of the image.展开更多

From Jingwei and Kua Fu in the early myths to Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu in classical novels of mature period, the characters have been talked about for many years. Through the typical image, the author deduces a section of joys and sorrows to the reader, showing the bizarre society. When making interpretation of characters in the ancient novel, we should both root in the social context but also pay attention to authors＇ appraise attitude. Because contemporary readers can not be out of real background, and also be allowed to make a reasonable re-interpretation, in order to make a more accurate, objective and comprehensive grasp of the characters in classical novels.展开更多

In this method, the ...According to the different characteristics that signal and noise exhibit during wavelet decomposition, a new denoising method based on the lifting scheme wavelet packet decomposition is presented. In this method, the SAR images are decom- posed by using the best wavelet packet and the norm of each sub-band are calculated; signals and noise can be discriminated based on the norm and soft-threshold method, and the images can be denoised. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm has excellent performance in denoising SAR images, and can remove most noise of images with well-kept texture detail informa- tion. The calculating speed of the method is twice the speed of the general wavelet packet transform algorithm.展开更多
