Objective To evaluate the efficacy of "straight scleral tunnel incision"-trabeculectomy with a releasable suture supplemented with mitomycin C (MMC) on reducing intraocular pressure ( IOP), complications, and co...Objective To evaluate the efficacy of "straight scleral tunnel incision"-trabeculectomy with a releasable suture supplemented with mitomycin C (MMC) on reducing intraocular pressure ( IOP), complications, and corneal astigmatism in patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG). Methods Totally 217 acute or chronic PACG patients with occludable angle above 180℃ and IOP above 21 mm Hg were divided into 3 groups. Patients in group A (98 cases, 128 eyes), B (71 cases, 95 eyes), and C (48 cases, 60 eyes) were treated with "straight scleral tunnel incision"-trabeculectomy with a releasable suture supplemented with MMC, releasable suture trabeculectomy with MMC, and trabeculectomy with MMC, respectively. IOP, complications, and sureicallv induced astigmatism (SIA) were evaluated oreooerativelv and up to 12 months oostoperatively. Results IOP of 2 weeks after treatment was significantly lower than preoperative IOP in all the 3 groups ( all P〈0.001). Success rates (IOP≤20 mmHg) in groupA, B, and C were 87. 91% , 89.23%, and 83.72% respectively at 12 months after treatment (P = 0.256). The incidence of shallow anterior chamber and hypotony had no significant difference between group A and B, but both of them were lower than that in group C ( P 〈 0.05 ). There were no significant differences in preoperative corneal astigmatism among the 3 groups. The corneal astigmatism after 2 weeks in group A (1.71 ±1.47D) was higher than that before operation ( 1.28 ± 1.05D, P =0. 126). With 12 months gone, the astigmatism almost returned to preoperative levels. The corneal astigmatisms after 2 weeks in group B and C ( 1.99 ± 1.20D and 2. 22 ± 1.39D) were significantly higher than those before operation ( 1.20 ± 0. 85D and 1.18 ±0.93D, P =0. 002, P =0. 001 ), respectively. With 112 months gone, the mean astigmatisms in group B and C ( 1.87 ± 0. 91D and 1.90 ± 1.16D) were still significantly higher than those before operation (P = 0. 001, P = 0. 003 ). The highest astigmatic polar values in group A, B, and C ( 1.00D, 1.89D, and 1.77D) occurred after 2 weeks, 1 month, and 1 month postoperation, respectively, which were significantly higher than those before operation (0.19 ± 1.32D, 0. 12 ± 1.22D, and 0.17 ± 1.25D, P 〈 0.01 ), respectively. With 12 months gone, they were 0.03D, -0.18D, and -0.13D higher than those before operation, respectively. The rates of function bleb and thin-wall bleb were 71.43% and 26. 37% in group A, 75.38% and 29.23% in group B, 72.09% and 25.58% in group C, respectively at 12 months after treatment. There were no significant differences among the 3 groups. Conclusion "Straight scleral tunnel incision"-trabeculectomy with a releasable suture supplemented with MMC can reduce complications and get satisfactory results in reducing lOP and SIA.展开更多

The moving least square method is introduced, for the first time, to fit a stratum surface. The results show that, using the same-degree base function, compared with a traditional least square method, the moving least square method can produce lower fitting errors, the fitting surface can describe the morphological characteristics of stratum surfaces more accurately and the principal curvature values vary within a wide range and may be more suitable for the prediction of the distribution of structural fractures. The method includes reconstructing the signal from the wavelet modulus maxima. For the purpose of maxima selection, the spatially selective noise filtration technique was used to distinguish modulus maxima produced by signal from the one created by noise. To test the method, sodium spectrum measured at a wide slit was deconvolved. He-Ne spectrum measured at the corresponding slit width was used as slit function. Sodium measured at a narrow slit was used as the reference spectrum. The deconvolutton result shows that this method can enhance the resolution of the degraded spectrum greatly.展开更多

Methods Three hundred and forty-three patients were randomly divided into a pricking at Sìfèng (四缝 EX-UE 10) group (priking group, n=105), a Chinese herbs group (n=85) and a pricking and Chinese herbs group (n=153). The improvements of the clinical symptoms of all three groups were evaluated after the treatment. Results The results of these treatments for all the patients were satisfying. The effective rate of the pricking and Chinese herbs group, which was 98.7 % (151/153), was superior to that of 94.3 % (99/105) (P0.05) in the pricking group and 91.8% (78/85) in the Chinese herbs group (P0.01), while no differences in effective rate were found between the pricking group and the Chinese herbs group (P0.05). Conclusion The pricking at Sìfèng (四缝 EX-UE 10) combined with Chinese herbs is the best treatment for infantile malnutrition.展开更多

Obviously, whether the cracks may spread or not during the water storage process is one of the crucial factors for the safe...In the Xiaowan arch dam there are massive temperature cracks nearly parallel to the dam axis. Obviously, whether the cracks may spread or not during the water storage process is one of the crucial factors for the safety of a dam. In this paper, a new type of crack element, in which the contact component is implicitly included into the concrete component, is proposed to simulate the effects of the existing cracks. The crack element is proved by numerical example to share the merits of both conventional contact elements and joint elements. With a finite element model of the cracked arch dam together with its rock foundation established, the transient displacement and stress fields of the dam are obtained. The complicated rock foundation, the construction process of the arch dam, the massive cracks, the transient temperature field, as well as the water storage process have been taken into consideration in the simulation. In addition to the global model, several sub-models for typical crack tips are also generated with finer elements placed around the tips. Thus, more accurate displacement and stress distribution are obtained by simultaneous sub-model simulation. Based on the calculation of stress intensity factor for crack tips by extension method, the temperature cracks in the Xiaowan arch dam are finally proved to be stable.展开更多
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Nie-pinching the spine,puncturing Sifeng(EX-UE 10)plus Chinese herbs in treating pediatric anorexia due to dysfunction of spleen in transportation.Methods:A total of 64 ki...Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Nie-pinching the spine,puncturing Sifeng(EX-UE 10)plus Chinese herbs in treating pediatric anorexia due to dysfunction of spleen in transportation.Methods:A total of 64 kids were randomized into an observation group and a control group by the random number table method,with 32 cases in each group.Patients in both groups received Jian Pi Kai Wei(strengthening spleen and stomach)powder according to pattern differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).In addition,patients in the observation group received Nie-pinching the spine and puncturing Sifeng(EX-UE 10).Nie-pinching the spine was applied twice a week,and puncturing Sifeng(EX-UE 10)was performed once a week,with 2 weeks counted as 1 course of treatment.After 2 courses of treatment,the body mass index(BMI),peripheral blood leptin level and the microelements Zn,Fe and Se were compared at different time points(before treatment,after the first and second courses of treatment),as well as the therapeutic efficacy and onset time.Results:After 2 courses of treatment,31 cases in each group were evaluated.After the 1st course and the 2nd course,the BMI and serum Zn,Fe and Se levels in the observation group increased significantly(all P<0.05),the leptin level decreased substantially(both P<0.05);the BMI in the control group showed a substantial rise(P<0.05),while the Zn,Fe and Se levels slightly increased showing no statistical significance(all P>0.05),and the leptin level decreased but the difference showed no statistical significance(P>0.05).After the 1st and the 2nd courses of treatment,the BMI,serum Zn,Fe and Se levels increased more significantly(all P<0.05),and the serum leptin level decreased more significantly(both P<0.05)in the observation group than in the control group.After the 2nd course,the total effective rate and recovery rate in the observation group were both higher than those in the control group(both P<0.05),together with a quicker onset time(P<0.05).Conclusion:Nie-pinching the spine,puncturing Sifeng(EX-UE 10)plus Chinese herbs is effective for pediatric anorexia due to dysfunction of spleen in transportation.It can decrease leptin,increase Zn,Fe and Se levels,alleviate apositic symptoms and increase BMI in the kids.展开更多
