We included only comparative studies written in English or in French, published from January 2000 to April 2015. We collected the literature data on HCV-infected patients concerning the prevalence of glucose abnormalities [diabetes mellitus (DM) and insulin resistance (IR)] and associated risk [i.e., severe liver fibrosis, response to antivirals, and the occurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)].RESULTSHCV infection is significantly associated with DM/IR compared with healthy volunteers and patients with hepatitis B virus infection. Glucose abnormalities were associated with advanced liver fibrosis, lack of sustained virologic response to interferon alfa-based treatment and with a higher risk of HCC development. As new antiviral therapies may offer a cure for HCV infection, such data should be taken into account, from a therapeutic and preventive point of view, for liver and non-liver consequences of HCV disease. The efficacy of antidiabetic treatment in improving the response to antiviral treatment and in decreasing the risk of HCC has been reported by some studies but not by others. Thus, the effects of glucose abnormalities correction in reducing liver events need further studies.CONCLUSIONGlucose abnormalities are strongly associated with HCV infection and show a negative impact on the main liver related outcomes.展开更多

And there are one trypto-phan (83), one tyrosine (79), and three phenylalanines (35, 43, 99) in apoCopC. The fluorescence peak of apoCopC is located near 320 nm, and the peak shifts toward 353 nm in the presence of 10 mmol·L^(-1) urea with excitation at 280 nm. Using urea as a chemical agent, the conformational stabilities of apoCopC and Cu_N^(2+) -CopC were monitored by fluorescence spectrum in 20 mmol·L^(-1) phosphate buffer and 100 mmol·L^(-1) sodium chloride at pH 6.0. The free energy of stabilization for apoCopC and Cu_N^(2+)-CopC is 16.29±0.65 kJ·mol^(-1) and 26.26±0.35 kJ·mol^(-1), respectively. The distance between the tryptophan residue and the Cu^(2+) in Cu_N^(2+) -CopC has been studied by observing Frster type nonradia-tive energy transfer. And it is calculated to be 11.6 .展开更多

The quality of the studies was found to be relatively low. Meta-analysis showed that puerarin injection combined with western medication was more effective than conventional therapy for rate, nerve conduction velocity(NCV), and hemorheology index. Six adverse drug reactions(ADRs) from puerarin injection were reported in two studies. Reactions included facial flushing, palpitations, and pain at infusion locations. However, noserious ADRs were reported.CONCLUSION: Puerarin injection was effective for the treatment of DPN. Puerarin can improve the total effective rate, correct NCV that was decreased by diabetes, and improve the hemorheology index.Puerarin was also relatively safe clinically. However, since the articles included in the study were not high-quality, more studies should be conducted to strengthen their findings.展开更多
