As a typical secondary air pollutant,surface ozone has been monitored routinely since 2013 in China.Most studies on the spatiotemporal variation of ozone have been centered around the daily maximum 8-h average,with little attention paid to the trends of hourly ozone,especially hourly ozone exceedances.Focusing on hourly ozone exceedances and peak values,the spatiotemporal trends of hourly ozone at 77 sites in 13 cities of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)region during 2017-2021 were analyzed in this study.The number of hours with exceedances(N_(H200))in 2019 was nearly three times that of 2021.On a five-year average,the percentage of cumulative NH200 in June accounted for up to 40.5%of all hourly exceedances.Cities in central Hebei Province had the highest cumulative annual N_(H200).June had the highest average hourly ozone exceeded multiples of 0.158.The top two cities with the highest average exceeded multiple were Tangshan(0.166)and Beijing(0.158).Tangshan and Xingtai ranked as the top two in terms of the mean of the 10 highest daily maximum ozone concentrations(MTDM),with 286.74 and 285.37μg m^(−3),respectively.The gap between the MTDM and the daily maximum of hourly ozone averaged over all sites had narrowed to 97.88μg m^(−3) in 2021,much lower than that in other years,which indicated that the stability and convergence of ozone pollution in BTH region had been enhanced in 2021 to some extent. 展开更多

目的采用脑表面埋置电极记录方法,研究3种不同图形视觉刺激对小鼠图形视觉诱发电位(PVEP)的影响。方法22只6周龄C57BL/6J小鼠麻醉后,头部固定于立体定位仪上,在其初级视皮层双眼区对应的颅骨位置开颅,于脑表面埋置记录电极,于鼻骨处开... 目的采用脑表面埋置电极记录方法,研究3种不同图形视觉刺激对小鼠图形视觉诱发电位(PVEP)的影响。方法22只6周龄C57BL/6J小鼠麻醉后,头部固定于立体定位仪上,在其初级视皮层双眼区对应的颅骨位置开颅,于脑表面埋置记录电极,于鼻骨处开颅埋置参考电极。于麻醉状态下分别行水平光栅刺激、垂直光栅刺激和翻转棋盘方格刺激。比较在不同图形视觉刺激下记录到的PVEP的P100波振幅与峰时值的差异。结果在相同的空间频率和时间频率下,水平光栅刺激(173.18μV±33.00μV,87.59 ms±12.40 ms)、垂直光栅刺激(189.05μV±31.79μV,78.68 ms±9.50 ms)和翻转棋盘方格刺激(142.68μV±32.64μV,96.55 ms±17.57 ms)诱发的小鼠PVEP P100波振幅(F=18.670,P<0.01)和峰时值(F=21.170,P<0.01)比较差异有统计学意义,3种刺激的振幅和峰时值两两比较差异亦有统计学意义(均P<0.05)。3组P100波振幅和峰时值变异系数分别为19.06%、16.82%、22.87%和14.16%、12.07%、18.19%。结论采用垂直光栅图形刺激可获得较翻转棋盘方格刺激和水平光栅刺激更为敏感、更为稳定的小鼠PVEP波形。 展开更多

Oxygen/glucose deprivation (OGD) has been widely used as an in vitro model of focal ischemia, where the blood flow is severely reduced and neurons rapidly die. However, adjacent to the focal region is ‘penumbra', where residual blood flow remains oxygen and glucose supplies are at low levels. To model this pathological genesis, we developed a partial OGD (pOGD) protocol in a rat brain slice. This model met two requirements: oxygen was partially deprived and glucose was reduced in the perfusion buffer. Therefore we investigated the effect of pOGD on gama-aminobutyric acid (GABAA) receptor-mediated inhibitory postsynaptic currents (IPSCs) in CA1 neurons of a hippocampal slice through whole-cell patch-clamp technique. We found that the amplitude and decay time of IPSCs were increased immediately during pOGD treatment. And the enhancement of IPSCs amplitude resulted from an increase of the synaptic conductance without a significant change in the reversal potential of chloride. These results suggested that the nervous system could increase inhibitory neurotransmission to offset excitation by homeostasis mechanisms during the partial oxygen and glucose attack. 展开更多

The economic impact of emission peaking control policies and China's sustainable development 被引量:7

To achieve the goals of national sustainable development, the peaking control of CO2 emissions is pivotal, as well as other pollutants. In this paper, we build a Chinese inter-regional CGE model and simulate 13 policies and their combinations. By analyzing the energy consumptions, coal consumptions, relating emissions and their impacts on GDP, we found that with the structure adjustment policy, the proportion of coal in primary fossil fuels in 2030 will decrease from 53% to 48% and CO2 emissions will decrease by 11.3%-22.8% compared to the baseline scenario. With the energy intensity reduction policy, CO2 emissions will decrease by 33.3% in 2030 and 47.8% in 2050 than baseline scenario. Other pollutants will also be controlled as synergetic effects. In this study we also find that although the earlier the peaking time the better for emission amounts control, the economic costs can not be ignored. The GDP will decrease by 2.96%-8.23% under different scenarios. Therefore, integrated policy solutions are needed for realizing the peaks package and more targeted measures are required to achieve the peaks of other pollutants earlier. 展开更多

The motivation of this work is to obtain single PI/PID tuning formula for different types of processes with enhanced disturbance rejection performance. The proposed tuning formula consistently gives better performance in comparison to several well-known methods at the same degree of robustness for stable, integrating and unstable processes. For the selection of the closed-loop time constant(τc), a guideline is provided over a broad range of time-delay/time-constant ratios on the basis of the peak of maximum sensitivity(Ms). An analysis has been performed for the uncertainty margin with the different process parameters for the robust controller design. It gives the guideline of the Ms-value settings for the PI controller designs based on the process parameters uncertainty. Furthermore, a relationship has been developed between Ms-value and uncertainty margin with the different process parameters(k, τ and θ). Simulation study has been conducted for the broad class of processes and the controllers are tuned to have the same degree of robustness by measuring the maximum sensitivity, Ms, in order to obtain a reasonable comparison. 展开更多

Lower extremity injury in female basketball players is related to a large difference in peak eversion torque between barefoot and shod conditions 被引量:1

Background: The majority of injuries reported in female basketball players are ankle sprains and mechanisms leading to injury have been debated. Investigations into muscular imbalances in barefoot versus shod conditions and their relationship with injury severity have not been performed. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of wearing athletic shoes on muscular strength and its relationship to lower extremity injuries, specifically female basketball players due to the high incidence of ankle injuries in this population. Methods: During pre-season, 11 female collegiate basketball players underwent inversion and eversion muscle strength testing using an iso- kinetic dynamometer in both a barefoot and shod conditions. The difference between conditions was calculated for inversion and eversion peak torque, time to peak torque as well as eversion-to-inversion peak torque percent strength ratio for both conditions. Lower extremity injuries were documented and ranked in severity. The ranked difference between barefoot and shod conditions for peak torque and time to peak torque as well as percent strength ratio was correlated with injury ranking using a Spearman rho correlation (p) with an a level of 0.05. Results: The ranked differences in barefoot and shod for peak eversion and inversion torque at 120°/s were correlated with their injury ranking. Ranking of the athletes based on the severity of injuries that were sustained during the season was found to have a strong, positive relationship with the difference in peak eversion torque between barefoot and shod (p = 0.78; p = 0.02). Conclusion: It is possible that a large discrepancy between strength in barefoot and shod conditions can predispose an athlete to injury. Nar- rowing the difference in peak eversion torque between barefoot and shod could decrease propensity to injury. Future work should investigate the effect of restoration of muscular strength during barefoot and shod exercise on injury rates. 展开更多

An improved denoising method and its application in pulse beat signal denoising are studied.The proposed denoising algorithm takes the advantages of local mean decomposition(LMD)and time-frequency peak filtering(TFPF),called L-T algorithm.As a classical time-frequency filtering method,TFPF can effectively suppress random noise with signal amplitude retained when selecting a longer window length,while the signal amplitude will be seriously attenuated when selecting a shorter window length.In order to maintain effective signal amplitude and suppress random noise,LMD and TFPF are improved.Firstly,the original signal is decomposed into progression-free survival(PFS)by LMD,and then the standard error of mean(SEM)of each product function is calculated to classify many PFSs into useful component,mixed component and noise component.Secondly,by using the shorter window TFPF for useful component and the longer window TFPF for mixed component,noise component is removed and the final signal is obtained after reconstruction.Finally,the proposed algorithm is used for noise reduction of an Fabry-Perot(F-P)pressure sensor.Experimental results show that compared with traditional wavelet,L-T algorithm has better denoising effect on sampled data. 展开更多

First, the sliding mass is divided into vertical slices according to this method, which is irrational to some extent in the seismic design of slope. Second, only peak ground acceleration (PGA) is considered, and the effects of shaking frequency and duration on slope stability are neglected. And then, based on the theory of elastic wave and the summarized geological model, this paper put forwards an improved method of pseudo-method by using the theory of elastic wave and Hilbert-Huang transform. The improved pseudostatic method gives reasonable considerations to the time-frequency effects of seismic wave and its rationality has been verified by the shaking table test. This method can evaluate the safety of a slope, the happening time and the scale of landslides. Effect of Drainage Ditch Layout on Nitrogen Loss by Runoff from an Agricultural Watershed 被引量:4

A comparison experiment was performed, by designing one field ditch (D1 treatment), two field ditches (D2 treatment), three field ditches (D3 treatment), and no field ditch (CK treatment), in an upland of a small agricultural watershed in Nanjing-Zhenjiang hilly regions to observe the farmland surface runoff and N loss characteristics under the different layouts of field ditch. As the layout density of field ditch increased, the drainage effect was improved, the timing of the runoff peak was advanced, and also the peak flow was augmented. At the same time, both the concentration and accumulated transfer flux of total nitrogen (TN) were improved, and thereinto the accumulated transfer fluxes of TN under D3, D2 and D1 treatments were increased by 1.46, 1.34 and 1.16 times, respectively, than that under CK treatment. However, the accumulated transfer fluxes of nitrate-nitrogen (NO3-N) and ammonium-nitrogen (NH4+-N) under D3, D2 and D1 treatments were reduced by 33.9%, 21.4% and 8.6%, and 35.8%, 24.7% and 12.2%, respectively, compared with those under CK treatment. Under CK treatment, the NO3-N and NH4+-N concentrations were more sensitive to rainfall intensity than the TN concentration. There were significant linear relationships between the transfer fluxes of TN, NO3-N and NH^-N and the runoff flux, with the correlation coefficients of 0.942, 0.899 and 0.912, respectively. In addition, this correlation was also influenced by the layout density of field ditch. Therefore, the environmental effect should be taken into account when designing and constructing field ditches. Especially in the regions of severe fertilizer loss, the approaches of properly increasing the drainage area and decreasing the layout density of field ditch could be adopted under the precondition of avoiding crops from waterlogging. 展开更多

Time-frequency peak filtering (TFPF) is highly efficient in suppressing random noise in seismic data. Although the hypothesis of stationary Gaussian white noise cannot be fulfilled in practical seismic data, TFPF can effectively suppress white and colored random noise with different intensities, as can be theoretically demonstrated by detecting such noise in synthetic seismic data. However, a "zero-drift" effect is observed in the filtered signal and is independent of the average power and variance of the random noise, but related to its mean value. Furthermore, we consider the situation where the local linearization of the seismic data cannot be satisfied absolutely and study the "distortion" characteristics of the filtered signal using TFPF on a triangular wave. We found that over-compensation is possible in the frequency band for the triangular wave. In addition, it is nonsymmetrical and has a relationship to the time-varying curvature of the seismic wavelet. The results also present an improved approach for TFPF. 展开更多

Using 24 proxy temperature series, the rates of temperature change in China are analyzed at the 30- to 100-year scales for the past 2000 years and at the 10-year scale for the past 500 years. The results show that, at the 100-year scale, the warming rate for the whole of China in the 20th century was only 0.6±1.6℃/100 a (interval at the 95% confidence level, which is used here- after), while the peak warming rate for the period from the Little Ice Age (LIA) to the 20th century reached 1.1_+1.2~C/100 a, which was the greatest in the past 500 years and probably the past 2000 years. At the 30-year scale, warming in the 20th century was quite notable, but the peak rate was still less than rates for previous periods, such as the rapid warming from the LIA to the 20th century and from the 270s-290s to 300s-320s. At the 10-year scale, the warming in the late 20th century was very evident, but it might not be unusual in the context of warming over the past 500 years. The exact timing, duration and magnitude of the warming peaks varied from region to region at all scales. The peak rates of the 100-year scale warming in the AD 180s-350s in northeastern China as well as those in the 260s-410s and 500s-660s in Tibet were all greater than those from the mid-19th to 20th century. Meanwhile, the rates of the most rapid cooling at scales of 30 to 100 years in the LIA were promi-nent, but they were also not unprecedented in the last 2000 years. At the 10-year scale, for the whole of China, the most rapid decadal cooling in the 20th century was from the 1940s to 1950s with a rate of -0.3±0.6℃/10 a, which was similar to rates for periods before the 20th century. For all regions, the rates of most rapid cooling in the 20th century were all less than those for previous periods. 展开更多

Acoustic interference can impede effective communication that is important for survival and reproduction of animals. In response to acoustic interference, some animals can improve signalling efficacy by altering the structure of their signals. In this study, we played artificial noise to 46 male spring peepers Pseudacris crucifer, on their breeding grounds, and tested whether the noise affected the duration, call rate, and peak frequency of their advertisement calls. We used two experimental noise treatments that masked either the high- or low-frequency components of an average advertisement call; this allowed us to evaluate whether frogs adaptively shift the peak frequency of their calls away from both types of interference. Our playback treatments caused spring peepers to produce shorter calls, and the high-frequency noise treatment caused them to lower the frequency of their calls immediately after the noise ceased. Call rate did not change in response to playback. Consistent with previous studies, ambient temperature was inversely related to call duration and positively related to call rate. We conclude that noise affects the structure of spring peeper advertisement calls, and that spring peepers therefore have a mechanism for altering signal structure in response to noise. Future studies should test if other types of noise, such as biotic or anthropogenic noise, have similar effects on call structure, and if the observed changes to call structure enhance or impair communication in noisy environments [Current Zoology 60 (4): 438-448, 2014]. 展开更多

The mono-frequency peak luminosity and the corresponding photon energy of the time-integrated (L~, Eg) and peak time (L~, ffp) vfv spectra were derived for a sample of 38 redshift-known Fermi GRBs by fitting the spectra with the Band function. It was found that Ept is generally consistent with Ep, and Lp is averagely three times larger than Lp. The slope of the Lp1 -Etp relation was consistent with that of the Lps - Eps relation. The photon indices in the peak time spectrum, particularly, the index of the low energy end was, were statistically larger than that in the time-integrated spectrum. These results indicate that Lp and Ep are dominated by Lp1 and Ept, respectively. The difference of the spectral indices between the time-integrated and peak time spectra may be because of the overlap effect of a series of time-resolved spectra within a GRB. Our simulations, which were based on the observed spectral evolution and correlation between the energy flux and the peak energy within individual GRBs support our speculations. The Lt - Et, relation may be less contaminated by the overla!a effect, and it would may be an intrinsic feature of radiation ohvsics. 展开更多
