A norm...A multi-level evaluation model for the superstructure of a damaged prestressed concrete girder or beam bridge is established, and the evaluation indices of the model as well as the rating standards are defined. A normal relative function about the evaluation indices of each element is developed to calculate the relative degree, and for each element there are no sub-level elements. When evaluating the elements in the sub-item level or the index level of the model, the weights of elements pertain to one adopted element, taking into account their degrees of deterioration. Since the relative degrees and structure evaluation scales on the damage conditions are applied to characterize the superstructure of damaged prestressed concrete girder bridges, this method can evaluate the prestressed structure in detail, and the evaluation results agree with the Code for Maintenance of Highway Bridges and Culvers (JTG Hll--2004 ). Finally, a bridge in Jilin province is taken as an example, using the method developed to evaluate its damage conditions, which gives an effective way for bridge engineering.展开更多

Such methods as analytic hierarchy process (AHP) , Delphi method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method are adopted to make the quantitative analysis on the risk factors and establish the risk judgment model. According to the actual engineering of Taizhou Bridge, the paper evaluates the risk of the foundation during the operating period at the condition of deep overlying stratum. Correlative appraisement of boiling heat transfer augmentation was done wi...A model of evaluation and prediction of enhancement of boiling heat transfer with additives has been proposed according to fuzzy fundamentals. Correlative appraisement of boiling heat transfer augmentation was done with the model based on 39 additives which were tested by the authors and other researchers. The results show that the evaluation of 35 additives is consistent with experiments, which means that the accuracy of the model is 89.7 percent. In addition, the prediction of the ability of boiling heat transfer enhancement with sodium oleate, polyethylene glycol and Tween-40 is also in good agreement with correspondent experiments.展开更多

To improve the accuracy of the vehicle crashworthiness simulation, it is necessary as well as important to integrate the valid forming effects of key parts. It has been agreed by many that one-step simulation results ...To improve the accuracy of the vehicle crashworthiness simulation, it is necessary as well as important to integrate the valid forming effects of key parts. It has been agreed by many that one-step simulation results should be used only as a qualitative trend of the part but not as an engineering result for further structural analysis, especially for a relatively complex part. The study shows that it is inaccurate to analyze the forming effects with one-step simulation based on the geometry of the final part through comparison with the incremental simulation and verification with the actual part, whether in thickness or in plastic strain. However, incremental simulation is very time consuming and infeasible in the early stage of vehicle design due to lack- ing of forming tools and process parameters. An engineering approach is proposed to meet the requirement of accuracy as well as the time efficiency, where one-step simulation is conducted based on the geometry of the transformed part instead of the fi- nN part. The geometry of the transformed part is generated by simple die design engineering and proves to offer much more accuracy than the one-step simulation based on the final part geometry.展开更多
