To take into account the free volume contribution to the excess Gibbs energy in polymer solution, a quadratic mixing rule for the cross co-volume bij with an exponent equals to 1/2 is applied[bij1/2= 1/2(bi1/2+bj1/2)]. The literature reported Soave-Redlich-Kwong equation of state (SRK EOS) parameters ofpure polymer are employed. The PSRK model with the modified mixing rule is used to predict the vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) of 37 solvent-polymer systems over a large range of temperature and pressure with satisfactory results.展开更多

The goal regards the analysis and evaluation of seismic performance of that structure made by very light and elastic-brittle material, as FRP material, in a moment in which there is a loss of technical recommendation for specific calculation in seismic field, indeed actually some deepening already present in literature allows only static field. The covering structure is an all FRP spatial-reticular with elements made by pultrusion process, connection plates by bag molding process and steel bolts. The PFRP structure covers more than 1000 meters squares surface with 32 meters height and only 100 kN weight. Detail performance of first part of PFRP structure through mode vibrations and involved percentage mass deduced by numerical approach with discussion of employment's perspectives of PFRP material in seismic zones than traditional material are showed.展开更多

This paper presents a full 3D non-isothermal two-phase flow model to predict the complex flow in melt filling process, where the Cross-WLF model is applied to characterize the rheological behav- ior of polymer melt. The governing equations are solved using finite volume method with SIMPLEC algorithm on collocated grids and the melt front is accurately captured by a high resolution level set method. A domain exten- sion technique is adopted to deal with the complex cavities, which greatly reduces the computational burden. To verify the validity of the developed 3D approach, the melts filling processes in two thin rectangular cavities (one of them with a cylindrical insert) are simulated. The predicted melt front interfaces are in good agreement with the experiment and commercial software prediction. For a case with a rather complex cavity, the dynamic filling process in a hemispherical shell is successfully simulated. All of the numerical results show that the developed numerical procedure can provide a reasonable orediction for injection molding process.展开更多

The most important input variables of the process system was represented by artificial immune cells, from which product quality was inferred, instead of directly using the prod- uct quality which was hard to measure online, e.g. the ash content of coal flotation con- centrate.
