[Objective] Jishu 21 with strong drought tolerance and Jizishu 1 with weak drought tolerance were chosen to reveal antioxidant characteristics in seedling roots of sweetpotato with different drought tolerance. [Method...[Objective] Jishu 21 with strong drought tolerance and Jizishu 1 with weak drought tolerance were chosen to reveal antioxidant characteristics in seedling roots of sweetpotato with different drought tolerance. [Method] Active oxygen, antioxidant substances and antioxidant enzymes in seedling roots of sweetpotato with different drought tolerance were analyzed by hydroponics with PEG-6000 for simulating drought stress in the experiment. [Result] The results showed that under drought stress, H202 content and formation rate of 02_ in seedling roots of Jizishul were higher than Jishu 21 by 1.9% and 102.6%, respectively, the contents of Vc in seed- ing roots of Jizishu 1 and Jizishu 1 increased by 25.3% and 81.1%, respectively, and the contents of polyphenols increased by 24.8% and 37.6% in the two vari- eties, respectively. The increase amplitudes of Jizishu 1 were higher than Jishu 21 in the above indexes. Antioxidant enzyme activities were higher in seedling roots of Jisl^u 21 and Jizishul under drought stress than normal treatments; and among them, POD activity was the highest, while PPO activity was the lowest in all an- tioxidant enzymes. The increases of SOD, POD, APX and PPO activities in Jishu 21 were twice of those in Jizishul. The bands of SOD3, POD2, CAT1, APX2 and PPO2 changed obviously between the drought treatments of the two varieties. [Con- clusion] In conclusion, stronger drought tolerance in sweetpotato results in lower in- crease amplitudes of H202 content, formation rate of 02- and contents of Vc and polyphenols under drought stress, and the activities of antioxidant enzymes are stronger in seeding roots under drought stress; and the differences in antioxidant enzymes are mainly related to the changes of isoenzymes including SOD3, POD2, CAT1. [Method] Balsam pear slices were dried at different ...[Objective] The aim was to investigate the effects of different drying temperatures on the physiochemical properties and antioxidant activity of balsam pear slices. [Method] Balsam pear slices were dried at different hot air temperatures, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 ℃. [Result] The polyphenols content was highest (2.83 mg/g) in the balsam pear slices dried at 50 ℃, and the flavonoids content was highest (2.584 mg/g) in those dried at 60 ℃. Different drying temperatures had a great impact on the antioxidant capacity of polyphenols in balsam pear. The balsam pear slices dried at 50 ℃ showed the strongest capacity for scavenging DPPH free radicals with IC50 of 0.015 mg/ml, and those dried at 80 ℃ showed the strongest capacity for removing ABTS free radicals with IC50 of 0.0689 mg/ml. [Conclusion] The hot air temperature of 50 ℃ had the least impact on the quality of balsam pear slices.展开更多

Experimental work wascarried out in a 3m high rectangular fluidized bed dryer of cross sectional area of 0.15 m x 0.61 mat different operating conditions using paddy, a group D particle, as the fluidizing material. Theresults of the study showed that the fluidized bed dryer system with vertical internal baffles gavebetter particle mixing effect in the bed of particles than that without vertical internal baffles.This is due to the fact that the vertical internal baffle act as gas bubble breakers by breaking upthe large gas bubbles into smaller ones. The smaller bubbles cause a more vigorous mixing in the bedof particles before finally erupting at the bed surface. This improves the contacting efficiencyand enhanced the heat and mass transfer of the fluidized bed system. Thus a higher drying rate wasobtained in the falling rate period because the higher contacting efficiency increases theevaporation rate at the particle surface. However, the drying rate in the diffusion region showslittle improvement because the moisture diffusivity does not depend on the contacting efficiency.The fluidized bed dryer with vertical internal baffles could therefore be used in the initial rapiddrying stage in a two stage drying strategy for paddy. The insertion of vertical internal bafflesinto a fluidized bed system improves the processing of Group D particles in a fluidized bed systemespecially if the system is large in scale.展开更多

The characteristics of fluidization and dry-beneficiation of the medium solids were studi...Wide-size-range medium-solids are used in a modularized coal beneficiation demonstration system with a gas-solid fluidized bed. The characteristics of fluidization and dry-beneficiation of the medium solids were studied. The numerical simulation results show that 0.15–0.06 mm fine magnetite powder can decrease the disturbances caused by the bubbles. This is beneficial to the uniformity of the gas-solid interactions and thus to the uniformity and stability of the bed density and height. The experimental results show that, with an increase in the fine coal content in medium solids, both the fluidization quality and the beneficiation performance of the bed decreased gradually. When the fine coal content was no more than 13%, a relatively high superficial gas velocity increased the beneficiation efficiency. When the content was more than 13%, part of the fine coal was separated, leading to product layers. The separation efficiency was therefore gradually decreased. The models for predicting the bed density standard deviation and the probable error, E, value were both proposed. The E value can reach to 0.04–0.07 g/cm^3 under the optimized experimental parameters. This work provides a foundation for the adjustment of the bed density and the separation performance of the modularized 40–60 ton per hour dry coalbeneficiation industrial system.展开更多
Aiming to solve the misclassification problems of unsupervised polarimetric Wishart clas- sification algorithm based on Freeman decomposition, an unsupervised Polarimetric Synthetic Aper- ture Radar (SAR) Interferot...Aiming to solve the misclassification problems of unsupervised polarimetric Wishart clas- sification algorithm based on Freeman decomposition, an unsupervised Polarimetric Synthetic Aper- ture Radar (SAR) Interferotnery (PolInSAR) classification algorithm based on optimal coherence set parameters is studied and proposed. This algorithm uses the result of Freeman decomposition to divide the image into three basic categories including surface scattering, volume scattering, and double-bounce Then, the PolInSAR optimal coherence set parameters are used to finely divide each of the three basic categories into 9 categories, and the whole image is divided into 27 categories. Because both the Freeman decomposition result and optimal coherence set parameters indicate specific scattering characteristics, the whole image is merged into 16 categories based on physical meaning. At last, the Wishart cluster is employed to obtain the final classification result. To preserve the purity of scattering characteristics, pixels with similar scattering characteristics are restricted to be classified with other pixels. The final classification results effectively resolve the misclassification problem, not only the buildings can be effectively distinguished from vegetation in urban areas, but also the road is well distinguished from grass. In this paper, the E-SAR PolInSAR data of German Aerospace Center (DLR) are used to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm.展开更多
A research was conducted to assess the effects of three different drying techniques, namely open sun drying (OSD), solar dryers (SD) and solar tent dryers (STD). Data on physical characteristics such as weight, ...A research was conducted to assess the effects of three different drying techniques, namely open sun drying (OSD), solar dryers (SD) and solar tent dryers (STD). Data on physical characteristics such as weight, total length and standard length were recorded and proximate composition of the fish sample Clarias gariepinus (Burchell, 1822) was carried out before, during and after drying to assess changes on physical characteristics and nutrient composition at different level. After drying, the samples were subjected to storage for eight weeks. The result obtained shows that there was no significant (P 〉 0.01) difference in the drying weight of the fish samples between the direct SD and the STD. However, for the total and standard length there was significant (P 〈 0.01) difference in the drying techniques, but no significant difference (P 〉 0.05) in the drying period. There was no significant (P 〉 0.05) difference on the physical parameters, storage period, proximate composition of both direct SD and STD and the drying period, respectively. Therefore, direct SD can be substituted with the STD without altering the quality of the product.展开更多

Methods: Stromal stem cells were separated from rat bone marrow with Ficoll-Paque reagent and expanded in different culture medium in vitro, rBMSCs were induced by edaravone containing serum-free L-DMEM. Morphologic observation and Western blot analysis including the expression of Nav1.6, Kvl.2, Kv1.3, Cav1.2 were performed, and whole patch-clamp technique was used. Results: Cyton contraction and long processes were shown in differentiated stromal stem cells. Navl.6, Kvl.2, Kv 1.3 and Cav 1.2 were expressed in both differentiated and undifferentiated ceils. However, the expression of channel proteins in differentiated cells was up-regulated. Consistently, their resting potential and outward currents were also enhanced in the differentiated cells, which was especially significant in the outward rectifier potassium current. Conclusion: In vitro, neuron-like cells derived from rBMSCs, induced by edaravone, possess electrophysiological properties of neurons.展开更多
Aims Cunninghamia lanceolata is one of the most important coniferous species in southern China,but its high sensitivity to drought restricts its expansion.Understanding the intraspecific variation of physiological res...Aims Cunninghamia lanceolata is one of the most important coniferous species in southern China,but its high sensitivity to drought restricts its expansion.Understanding the intraspecific variation of physiological responses to drought can help us manage this plantation better.Methods We selected 3-year-old seedlings of C.lanceolata,which originated from the low precipitation(LP),middle precipitation(MP)and high precipitation(HP)habitats,respectively.Seedlings were grown under drought stress(20%of soil volumetric water content)for 40 days.The ecophysiological responses and adaptive strategies with different drought tolerance were investigated.Important Findings LP provenance possessed the best tolerance to drought stress,suggesting that considerably increased carbohydrates and nitrogen-containing compounds as osmotic protective materials,which were driven by fast carbon and nitrogen metabolisms.In addition,the highest peroxidase activity could effectively eliminate hydrogen peroxide in drought-stressed LP provenance.The MP provenance reserved a large amount of non-structural carbohydrates,which may act as a certain buffer for encountering drought stress.Importantly,timely closure of stomata to reduce needle transpiration when encountering a water deficiency would help them adapt to long-term drought.MP provenance adopted a conservative water-saving strategy.However,HP provenance regulated root growth(increased root/shoot ratio)and reduced penetration potential to help them absorb water.The different strategies among provenances may be related to the long-term domestication of the geographical environments.Therefore,our results underline the importance of provenance-specific responses to drought stress.It is highly significant to accelerate the selection of drought-resistant germplasms and to cultivate high-yield plantations in the future.展开更多
