Nowadays demodulation techniques are mainly based on the edge filter, tunable filter, or interferometric scanning methods. Interferometric demodulation is widely accepted as the technology which can provide the high sensitivity. An interrogation system using the interferometric scanning method is presented, in which an unbalanced fiber M-Z interferometer is used as the wavelength scanner for temperature measurement. A novel fiber Bragg grating sensor system based on M-Z interferometric demodulation technique is presented in this paper. The temperature sensitivity measured in the experiment is almost consistent with that obtained from the theoretic calculation.展开更多

In this paper, external DEMs are used for InSAR DEM generation to reduce the errors in data processing. The DEMs generated from repeat-pass InSAR are compared. For steep slopes and severe changes in topography, phase unwrapping quality can be improved by subtracting the phase calculated from an external DEM. It is affirmative that the absolute height accuracy of the InSAR DEM is improved by using external DEM. The method is based on the catalytic effect of manganese(Ⅱ) with the oxidation of weak acid brilliant blue dye(RAWL)...A new kinetic spectrophotometric method is developed for the measurement of manganese(Ⅱ) in water. The method is based on the catalytic effect of manganese(Ⅱ) with the oxidation of weak acid brilliant blue dye(RAWL) by KIO4 using the Nitrilo triacetic acid(NTA) as an activation reagent. The optimum conditions obtained are 40 mgL-1 RAWL,1×10-4molL-1 KIO4,2×10-4 molL-1 Nitrilo triacetic acid(NTA),pH = 5.8,the reaction time of 3.00 min and the temperature of 20.0 ℃. Under the optimum conditions,the proposed method allows the measurement of manganese(Ⅱ) in a range of 0-50.0 ng mL-1 and with a detection limit of down to 0.158 ng mL-1. The recovery efficiency in measuring the standard manganese(Ⅱ) solution is in a range of 98.5%-102%,and the RSD is in a range of 0.76%-1.25%. The new method has been successfully applied to the measurement of manganese(Ⅱ) in both fresh water and seawater samples with satisfying results. Moreover,few cations and anions interfere with the measurement of manganese(Ⅱ). Compared with other kinetic catalytic methods and instrumental methods,the proposed method shows fairly good selectivity and sensitivity,low cost,cheapness,low detection limit and rapidity. A simple and robust set-up is used to measure distance of about 12 cm with an expanded uncertainty ( k = 2) of ±16.4 μm. The measurement uncertainty is found to be limited by the wavelength measurement accuracy. This set-up can be used to measure distances up to 56 m. It also enables easy determination of the point of equal path difference between the measuring and the reference arms. LabVIEW program is used for counting of the fringes and applying fast Fourier transfor- mation (FFT) to perform frequency selective filtration to the noise. Although the reported uncertainty does not represent the state-of-art uncertainty reached for similar distance, the measurement provides traceable measurement to the unit of length, the meter.展开更多

This has to be considered especially, if the instruments operate close to their physical limitations. Depending on the specific measuring task either point-wise or areal optical measurement may be advantageous. Hence, examples for both approaches are discussed. Furthermore, systematic effects, which are related to the measuring principle have to be taken into account, e.g. if sharp edges or slopes are present on the measuring object. As it is shown, for white-light interferometry these difficulties can be solved by a two-wavelength technique.展开更多
