In this study, the impacts of TC inflow angle on ocean surface waves were investigated using a high-resolution wave model. Six numerical experiments were conducted to examine, in detail, thc effects of inflow angle on mean wave parameters and the spectrum of wave directions. A comparison of the waves simulated in these experiments shows that inflow angle significantly modifies TC-induced ocean surface waves. As the inflow angle increases, the asymmetric axis of the significant wave height (SWH) field shifts 30° clockwise, and the maximum SWH moves from the front-right to the rear-right quadrant. Inflow angle also affects other mean wave parameters, especially in the rear-left quadrant, such as the mean wave direction, the mean wavelength, and the peak direction. Inflow angle is a key factor in wave models for the reproduction of double-peak or multi-peak patterns in the spectrum of wave directions. Sensitivity experiments also show that the simulation with a 40° inflow angle is the closest to that of the NOAA statistical SLOSH inflow angle. This suggests that 40° can be used as the inflow angle in future TC-induced ocean surface wave simulations when SLOSH or observed inflow angles are not available.展开更多

In this work, the energy and average distance between particles have been obtained using a wave function, which satisfies boundary conditions. It is shown that the obtained energy are very close to the values calculated by others. But the small differences of the expectation values of r^2n are due to the incorporated boundary conditions in proposed wave function and are expected.展开更多

The relativistic regular and irregular Coulomb wave functions are calculated numerically. Results show that the S-matrix method is a reliable and straightforward way in determining energies and widths of resonant states.展开更多

The average grain size of SiC was 30 nm. Relationship between SiC content and relative complex permittivity of Si3Na-SiC within the frequency range of 8.2-12.4 GHz (X-band) was investigated. The average real part of relative complex permittivity ε′ of Si3N4-SiC increased from 3.7 to 14.9 and the relative imaginary part ε″ increased from 0.017 to 13.4 when the content of SiC increased from 0 to 10 vol.%. The Si3N4-SiC ceramic with 3 vol.% SiC achieved a reflection loss below -10 dB (90% absorption) at 8.0-11.4 GHz, and the minimum value was -27.1 dB at 9.8 GHz when the sample thickness was 2.5 mm. The excellent microwave absorbing abilities of Si3N4-SiC ceramic were attributed to the interfacial polarization at interface between Si3N4 and SiC and at grain boundary between SiC nanocrystals.展开更多

Our method takes into account the back-actions of the reservoirs, and enables us to calculate the exact dynamics of the complete system at all times. We show that such system can cause nonexponential and long-lived photon decay due to the existence of a relaxation effect. The physical origin of non-Markovianity in our model system is the finite propagation speed resulting in time delays in communication between the nodes, and strong decay rate of the emitters into the waveguide. When the distance satisfies the standing wave condition, we find that when the time delay is increased, the dark modes formation is no longer perfect, and the average photon number of dark mode decreases in steady time limit.展开更多
