We apply edge-preserving smoothing (EPS) to seismic processing and propose a most homogeneous dip-scanning method. The method preserves the geological features, eliminate random noise efficiently, obtain dip information, and improve the accuracy of identifying the oil and gas traps.展开更多

METHODS: A total of 69 patients with gastrointestinal SMT underwent routine endoscopy in our department. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) was also performed in 9 cases of gastrointestinal SMT. The sessile submucosal gastrointestinal SMTs with the base smaller than 2 cm in diameter were resected by "pushing" technique or "grasping and pushing" technique while the pedunculated SMTs were resected by polypectomy. For those SMTs originating from muscularis propria or with the base size ≥ 2 cm, ordinary biopsy technique was performed in tumors with ulcers while the "Digging" technique was performed in those without ulcers. RESULTS: 54 cases of leiomyoma and 15 cases of leiomyosarcoma were identified. In them, 19 cases of submucosal leiomyoma were resected by "pushing" technique and 10 cases were removed by "grasping and pushing" technique. Three cases pedunculated submucosal leiomyoma were resected by polypectomy. No severe complications developed during or after the procedure. No recurrence was observed. The diagnostic accuracy of ordinary and the "Digging" biopsy technique was 90.0% and 94.1%, respectively. CONCLUSION: Endoscopic resection is a safe and effective treatment for leiomyomas with the base size ≤2 cm. The "digging" biopsy technique would be a good option for histologic diagnosis of SMTs.展开更多

The general idea underlying adaptive smoothing is to adapt the short-term sub-band mean of the amplitude to the local attributes of speech on the basis of discontinuity measures. The adaptive smoothing algorithm in this paper utilizes a scale-space framework through the minimal description length (MDL). We recommend using the fuzzy muhi-attribute decision making approach to select the proper sub-bands where the word boundary can be more reliably detected. The process and simulation of the fuzzy adaptive smoothing algorithm are given. The parameters utilize the mean amplitude of the audible frequency range (300 -3 700 Hz) and the sub-band mean of the amplitude (16 band filter-bank). We selected the audible band energy because of its usefulness in detecting high-energy regions and making the distinction between speech and noise. Otherwise, the fuzzy adaptive smoothing algorithm is processed in sub-band speech to utilize the full range of frequency information.展开更多

In the case of large dams, one important application of the GNSS continuous observation is thc establishment of early warning systems that demand accurate, frequently updated information and where the analysis of the baseline time series, in order to separate signal from noise is mandatory. The paper presents a study on the performance of linear filters of the asymmetric moving average type to smooth baseline time series. The transfer function of the filter is adopted as a smoothing criterion to choose an adequate order for the moving average, in face of the spectral density function of the baseline time series. Onc series of measurements of a short test baseline (325 m), materialized in the campus of the National Laboratory for Civil Engineering, is used as an example of the proposed strategy.展开更多

The Arou observation station, located in the upper reaches of the Heihe River in northwestern China, was selected to test the proposed method. Three numeric experiments were designed and performed to analyze the influence of uncertainties in model parameters, atmospheric forcing, and the model's physical mechanics on soil moisture estimates. Several assimilation schemes based on the ensemble Kalman filter(En KF), ensemble Kalman smoother(En KS), and dual En KF(DEn KF) were also compared in this study. The results demonstrate that soil moisture and soil properties can be simultaneously estimated by state-parameter estimation methods, which can provide more accurate estimation of soil moisture than traditional filter methods such as En KF and En KS. The estimation accuracy of the model parameters decreased with increasing error sources. DEn KS outperformed DEn KF in estimating soil moisture in most cases, especially where few observations were available. This study demonstrates that the DEn KS approach is a useful and practical way to improve soil moisture estimation.展开更多
