A parallel embedding overlapped iterative (EOI) algorithm about classicimplicit equations with asymmetric Saul'yev schemes (CIS-EOI) to solve one-dimensional diffusionequations is discussed to improve the properties of the segment classic implicit iterative (SCII)algorithm. The structure of CIS-EOI method is given and the stability of scheme and convergence ofiteration are proved by matrix method. The property of gradual-approach convergence is alsodiscussed. It has been shown that the convergent rate is faster and the property of gradual-approachconvergence also becomes better with the increasing of the net point in subsystems than with theSCII algorithm. The simulation examples show that the parallel iterative algorithm with a differentinsertion scheme CIS-EOI is more effective. 展开更多

The similarity search is one of the fundamental components in time series data mining,e.g.clustering,classification,association rules mining.Many methods have been proposed to measure the similarity between time series,including Euclidean distance,Manhattan distance,and dynamic time warping(DTW).In contrast,DTW has been suggested to allow more robust similarity measure and be able to find the optimal alignment in time series.However,due to its quadratic time and space complexity,DTW is not suitable for large time series datasets.Many improving algorithms have been proposed for DTW search in large databases,such as approximate search or exact indexed search.Unlike the previous modified algorithm,this paper presents a novel parallel scheme for fast similarity search based on DTW,which is called MRDTW(MapRedcuebased DTW).The experimental results show that our approach not only retained the original accuracy as DTW,but also greatly improved the efficiency of similarity measure in large time series. 展开更多

The human brain is built to process complex visual impressions within milliseconds. In comparison with sequentially coded spoken language and written texts, we are capable of consuming graphical information at a high bandwidth in a parallel fashion, producing a picture worth more than a thousand words. Effective information visualization can be a powerful tool to capture people's attention and quickly communicate large amounts of data and complex information. This is particularly important in the context of communication data, which often describes entities (people, organizations) and their connections through communication. Visual analytics approaches can optimize the user-computer interaction to gain insights into communication networks and learn about their structures. Network visualization is a perfect instrument to better communicate the results of analysis. The precondition for effective information visualization and successful visual reasoning is the capability to draw "good" pictures. Even though communication networks are often large, including thousands or even millions of people, underlying visualization principles are identical to those used for visualizing smaller networks. This article investigates the role of the body in Jean-Luc Nancy's powerful essay Corpus, and critiques it from the standpoint of Agamben's biopolitics. For Nancy, the body becomes the privileged site of both existence and sense in a way that threatens to obscure the logic of exceptional decision that Agamben takes from Carl Schmitt. As an alternative to Nancy's understanding of the body, we can see in Deleuze a series of bodies that works in parallel to a series of sense or language, where sense and body do not get collapsed into each other. At the same time, contemporary continental philosophy resists the idealistic separation of thinking and embodiment. Deleuze calls this relation between sense and body a cut, but we could also consider a parallax, following Slavoj Zizek. Finally, African-American historian of religion Charles H. Long's work complements some of Deleuze's insights in a more explicitly postcolonial context. 展开更多

The coupler is fundamental for a coupled model to realize complex interactions among component models.This paper focuses on the coupling process of Wave-Circulation(W-C) coupled model which consists of MASNUM(key laboratory of marine science and numerical modeling wave model)and POM(Princeton Ocean Model).The current coupling module of this coupled model is based on the inefficient I/O file,which has already become a performance bottleneck especially when the coupled model utilizes a large number of processes.To improve the performance of the W-C model,a flexible coupling module based on the model coupling toolkit(MCT) is designed and implemented to replace the current I/O file coupling module in the coupled model.Empirical studies that we have carried out demonstrate that our online coupling module can dramatically improve the parallel performance of the coupled model.The online coupling module outperforms the I/O file coupling module.When processes increase to 96,the whole process of EXP-C takes only 695.8 seconds,which is only 58.8%of the execution time of EXP-F.Based on our experiments under 2D Parallel Decomposition(2DPD),we suggest setting parallel decomposition strategies automatically to component models in order to achieve high parallel efficiency. 展开更多

We study three-dimensional localization and dispersive shocks in a bent cigar shaped potential by the nonlinear Schro¨ dinger equation. At high bending and high nonlinearity, topological trapping is frustrated by the generation of curved wave-breaking. Four-dimensional parallel simulations confirm the theoretical model. This work may contribute to novel devices based on geometrically constrained highly nonlinear dynamics and tests and analogs of fundamental physical theories in curved space. 展开更多
