Then based on the active control idea, a new systematic and concrete scheme is developed to achieve bidirectional partial generalized (lag, complete, and anticipated) synchronization between two chaotic systems or between chaotic and hyperchaotic systems. With the help of symbolic-numerical computation, we choose the modified Chua system, Lorenz system, and the hyperchaotic Tamasevicius Namajunas-Cenys system to illustrate the proposed scheme. Numerical simulations are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. It is interesting that partial chaos synchronization not only can take place between two chaotic systems, but also can take place between chaotic and hyperchaotic systems. The proposed scheme can also be extended to research bidirectional partial generalized (lag, complete, and anticipated) synchronization between other dynamical systems.展开更多

The terminology behind this procedure is more flexible than traditional parametric modeling tools. It relaxes the usual assumptions of parametric model and enables us to uncover structure to establish the relationship between independent variables and dependent variable in exponential family that may not be obvious otherwise. In this paper, we discussed two methods of fitting generalized additive logistic regression model, one based on Newton Raphson method and another based on iterative weighted least square method for first and second order Taylor series expansion. The use of the GAM procedure with the specified set of weights, using local scoring algorithm, was applied to real life data sets. The cubic spline smoother is applied to the independent variables. Based on nonparametric regression and smoothing techniques, this procedure provides powerful tools for data analysis.展开更多

Multiple models are used to capture the nonlinear process dynamics relating to gain and time constant variations. The multi-model strategy was implemented on several controllers such as Smith-Predictor using PI (Proportional-lntegral) and GPC (Generalized Predictive Control). Computer simulations and experiments were conducted on several nonlinear systems and compared to the original form of these controllers. The enhanced approach was tested on controlling the screw speed of an injection molding machine and temperature of a steel cylinder.展开更多

However, their thermodynamic compatibility and mechanical ana- logue have not yet been properly considered. In the present study, by discussing both these issues, we find that the two orders of fractional derivatives in the constitutive equation of the generalized Jeffreys fluid must be the same in order to ensure that the equation is physically correct. Based on this generalized Jeffreys fluid, a thermodynamically compatible generalized Oldryd-B fluid is also proposed by the convected coordinates approach.展开更多
