The examined Si-doped diamond films are deposited on WC-Co substrates in a home-made bias-enhanced HFCVD apparatus. Ethyl silicate (Si(OC2H5)4) is dissolved in acetone to obtain various Si/C mole ratio ranging from 0.1% to 1.4% in the reaction gas. Characterizations with SEM and XRD indicate increasing silicon concentration may result in grain size decreasing and diamond [110] texture becoming dominant. The residual stress values of as-deposited Si-doped diamond films are evaluated by both sin2ψ method, which measures the (220) diamond Bragg diffraction peaks using XRD, with ψ-values ranging from 0° to 45°, and Raman spectroscopy, which detects the diamond Raman peak shift from the natural diamond line at 1332 cm-1. The residual stress evolution on the silicon doping level estimated from the above two methods presents rather good agreements, exhibiting that all deposited Si-doped diamond films present compressive stress and the sample with Si/C mole ratio of 0.1% possesses the largest residual stress of ~1.75 GPa (Raman) or ~2.3 GPa (XRD). As the silicon doping level is up further, the residual stress reduces to a relative stable value around 1.3 GPa.展开更多

Coupled analysis on mooring-buoy interactions has been increasingly studied in recent years. At present, chains and wire ropes are widely used in offshore engineering practice. On the basis of mooring line statics, an explicit formulation of single mooring chain/wire rope stiffness coefficients and mooring stiffness matrix of the mooring system were derived in this article, taking into account the horizontal restoring force, vertical restoring force and their coupling terms. The nonlinearity of mooring stiffness was analyzed, and the influences of various parameters, such as material, displacement, pre-tension and water depth, were investigated. Finally some application cases of the mooring stiffness in hydrodynamic calculation were presented. Data shows that this kind of stiffness can reckon in linear and nonlinear forces of mooring system. Also, the stiffness can be used in hydrodynamic analysis to get the eieenfrequencv of slow drift motions.展开更多

Based on the seismic waves with 2% probabilities of exceedance, the nonlinear seismic response time-domain analysis are then conducted and influence of central buckles on seismic response of long-span suspension bridge is specially studied. Analysis resuits show that the central buckle can effectively control the longitudinal floating vibration mode of the deck, and therefore reduce earthquake-excited longitudinal displacement at the end of the deck. However, the central buckle may cause increment of longitudinal displacement at the top of main tower and bending moment at the bottom of the main tower, which should be paid special attention to. Results provide references for anti-earthquake analysis and design of long-span suspension bridges using rigid central buckles.展开更多

The bending stiffness EI varies continuously along the length of the beam. Dynamic equation yields differential equation with variable co- efficients based on the model of the Euler-Bernoulli beam. Then differential equation with variable coefficients becomes that with constant coefficients by variable substitution. At last, the study obtains the solution of dy- namic equation. The cantilever beam is an object for analysis. When the flexural rigidity at free end is a constant and that at clamped end is varied, the dynamic characteristics are analyzed under several cases. The results dem- onstrate that the natural angular frequency reduces as the fiexural rigidity reduces. When the rigidity of clamped end is higher than that of free end, low-level mode contributes the larger displacement response to the total re- sponse. On the contrary, the contribution of low-level mode is lesser than that of hi^h-level mode.展开更多

As a repairing method for corroded steel members, bonding carbon fiber sheets with resin had been developed. The purpose of this study is to propose the flexural strengthening method for steel members by using CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) strand sheets. In order to clarify the stiffening effect and the debonding characteristics of CFRP strand sheets, and to optimize the strengthening design specifications, the flexural tests using high tension steel beams strengthened with CFRP strand sheets are performed. Two cases of experiments are carried out. In Experiment 1, the result from previous research is reflected in the strengthening design. Moreover in Experiment 2, the debonding characteristics obtained from Experiment 1 are reflected. As a result, it was clarified that CFRP strand sheets have stiffening effect equivalent to the theoretical value and its debonding property is practically high enough when FRP (fiber reinforcement polymer) sheets have an appropriate bonding length.展开更多
