Research of tidal triggering of earthquakes in recent years is systematically reviewed,focusing on the relationship between the phases of the moon and seismic activity,earthquakes triggered by tidal forces and its components,based on the large sample statistics to discuss the tidal triggering of an earthquake.The relationship between the phase of the moon and seismic activity is a preliminary study of tidal triggering of earthquakes,and the modulation ratio is a quantitative description of it.Using the resolution of tidal stress to study seismic activity is a way to reveal the relationship between the tides and earthquakes from the mechanics point of view.Large sample statistics is another way to study the relationship between the tidal and earthquake from the view of statistics.In many statistical methods,Schuster's test is used more widely,which takes many factors into account,such as focal mechanism,tidal stress,and statistical tests to quantitatively analyze the tidal triggering effect on earthquakes. 展开更多

This paper analyzed the deformation mechanism in lateral roof roadway of the Ding Wu-3 roadway which was disturbed by repeated mining of close coal seams Wu-8 and Wu-10 in Pingdingshan No. 1 Mine. To determine the strata disturbance scope, the strata displacement angle was used to calculate the protection pillar width. A numerical model was built considering the field geological conditions. In simulation, the mining stress borderline was defined as the contour where the induced stress is 1.5 times of the original stress. Simulation results show the mining stress borderline of the lateral roadway extended 91.7 m outward after repeated mining. Then the original stress increased, deforming the road- way of interest. This deformation agreed with the in situ observations. Moreover, the strata displacement angle changed due to repeated mining. Therefore, reselection of the displacement angle was required to design the protective pillar width. Since a constant strata displacement angle was used in traditional design, the orooosed method was beneficial in field cases. 展开更多

Random behavior of concrete C45/55 XF2 used for prefabricated pre-stressed bridge beams is described on the basis of evaluating a vast set of measurements. A detailed statistical analysis is carried out on 133 test results of cylinders 150 ~ 300 mm in size. The tests have been running in laboratories of the Klokner Institute. A single worker took all specimens throughout the period, and the subsequent measurements of the static modulus of elasticity and the compressive strength of the concrete were performed. The measurements were made at the age of 28 days after specimens casting, and only one testing machine with the same capping method was used. Suitable theoretical models of division are determined on the basis of tests in good congruence, with the use of Z2 and the Bernstein criterion. A set of concrete compressive strength (carried out on 133 test results of cylinders 150 ~ 300 mm after test of static modulus of elasticity) shows relatively high skewness in this specific case. This cause that limited beta distribution is better than generally recommended theoretical distribution for strength the normal or lognormal. The modulus of elasticity is not significantly affected due to skewness because the design value is based on mean value. 展开更多

Coupled analysis on mooring-buoy interactions has been increasingly studied in recent years. At present, chains and wire ropes are widely used in offshore engineering practice. On the basis of mooring line statics, an explicit formulation of single mooring chain/wire rope stiffness coefficients and mooring stiffness matrix of the mooring system were derived in this article, taking into account the horizontal restoring force, vertical restoring force and their coupling terms. The nonlinearity of mooring stiffness was analyzed, and the influences of various parameters, such as material, displacement, pre-tension and water depth, were investigated. Finally some application cases of the mooring stiffness in hydrodynamic calculation were presented. Data shows that this kind of stiffness can reckon in linear and nonlinear forces of mooring system. Also, the stiffness can be used in hydrodynamic analysis to get the eieenfrequencv of slow drift motions. 展开更多

Comprehensive statistical analysis was performed on the basic features of focal mechanisms of 619 ML≥2. 0 earthquakes which occurred in the capital circle area from January 2002 to June 2010. By dividing the capital area into three studying regions based on regional tectonic characteristics,cluster analysis was conducted on the focal mechanisms of all subregions using the longest distance method in the statistical cluster analysis to study the characteristics of tectonic stress tensors. The result shows that dominant P-axis azimuth distribution is NNE-NEE and that of T-axis is NNW-NWW,most of the focal areas are controlled by a horizontal stress field and rupture is mainly of horizontal strike-slip. The maximum principal compression stress orientation is NE75° in the west,NE62° in the middle,and near EW in the east of the capital area. The regional tectonic stress field is characterized by horizontal compression. 展开更多

大坝混凝土力学性质受诸多因素影响,变化规律复杂,最新研究表明:不同的温度条件对混凝土的变形规律有着明显的影响.对此,在西南某混凝土特高拱坝冬季混凝土浇筑现场,结合冷却水管周围不同位置处单支应变计测值和每支应变计附近同样温度... 大坝混凝土力学性质受诸多因素影响,变化规律复杂,最新研究表明:不同的温度条件对混凝土的变形规律有着明显的影响.对此,在西南某混凝土特高拱坝冬季混凝土浇筑现场,结合冷却水管周围不同位置处单支应变计测值和每支应变计附近同样温度条件下设置的专用无应力计监测的该温度条件下自由体积变形,通过建立大坝无应力计统计模型分析无应力计测值得出混凝土热膨胀系数,并分离出自生体积变形,采用考虑混凝土徐变特性的计算程序,将应变计测值转化为实际应力以分析冷却水管周围不同部位混凝土应力分布.试验结果表明:由于该大坝采取"小温差、早冷却、缓慢冷却"的通水冷却方式,在现有的通水冷却方案下,冷却水管周围混凝土应力不大;该试验能给现场混凝土冷却通水方案以及防裂施工提供指导,为关键部位混凝土温度应力仿真反馈分析提供实测资料. 展开更多

As the most significant performance, compliance of hydraulic system is defined as the capacity to accommodate the sudden change of the external load. Due to the different requirements of the compliant tasks, the existing method for mechanical systems cannot be used in the analysis and design of the hydraulic system. In this paper, the definition and expression of compliance of hydraulic system are proposed to evaluate the compliance of the hydraulic system operating under sudden change load. Because the unexpected geological conditions during excavation may exert sudden change load to the shield tunneling machine, the compliance theory has found a right application in the thrust hydraulic system. By analyzing the basic operating principle and the commonly used architectures of the thrust hydraulic system, a compliance based thrust hydraulic system design method is presented. Moreover, a tunneling case is investigated in the paper as an example to expound the validation of design procedure. In conclusion, the compliance of the hydraulic system can be served as an evaluation of the capability in conforming to the load impact, giving supports for the design of the thrust hydraulic system of shield tunneling machines. 展开更多
