As a starting point, we investigated the packing medium to identify a highly efficient internal packing for the flotation column. The chosen packing was a honeycomb structure with an aperture diameter of 80 mm, a web thickness of 0.80 mm, a film height of 1000 mm, packed into a 400 mm diameter space, which completely filled the vessel at optimal cost. The column consisted of a modular ring of single-hole hexagonal honeycomb tube packing made from atactic polyproplene (PP-R). The packing was tested in a cyclonic, static micro-bubble flotation column. Computational fluid dynamic modeling was used to analyze the flotation fluid in a honeycomb tube packed flotation column. Our results show that the fluid axial movement was maximized and that the transverse fluid velocities were zero in the vicinity of axial flow. Using the honeycomb tube packing for copper sulfide flotation we observed that the average concentration in the product was increased to 25.41%, from an average feed concentration of 0.729%, with an average recovery of 92.92%. The demands of on-site industrial production were met.展开更多

First, lumped-elements will be fine-tuned following numerical method results is reported steady-state and transient solutions. Besides, the equations of thermal modeling such as Re, N,,, G,. and Pr numbers in order to calculate heat-transfer coefficient of convection on the rotor and stator surfaces in the air-gap have calculated. This section illustrates the temperature distribution of each point in a clear view. By CFD (fluid dynamic analysis) analysis, the fluid dynamics were modeled, pressure and velocity streamlines of cooling-flow have analyzed. An optimization algorithm was derived in order to have optimized number of water-channels as well. Second, calculation of nodal and tangential forces which deal with mechanical stresses of the ARWM have represented. The paper discusses an accurate magnetic-field analysis that addresses equivalent stress distribution in the magnetic core through using the transient FEA to estimate motor characteristics. The whole model shear and normal mechanical stresses and total deformation oftbe ARWM has been investigated by transient FEA. The end-winding effects were included by the authors.展开更多

These both invariant forms had important roles in the development of theoretical and practical applications of hydro-aerodynamics and related industries. The third invariant form of hydrodynamic equations is one for the dimensions of spaces. For this goal, the hyper quantities (space and physics) are introduced. Then these are created we can easily cover all problems in arbitrary dimensions (3D, 2D, 1D, separate space for liquids or constituent matters). In particularly, when they are applied to water hammer problem, which is an especially problem, we can receive immediately celerity and pressure of the event.展开更多

In the supersonic part of the incoming flow, shock waves appear in the front part of the blades and propagate in the upstream direction. In case of multiple blade rows, steady simulations have to impose an azimuthal averaging (mixing plane) which prevents these shock waves to extend upstream. In the present paper, several mixing plane locations are numerically tested and compared in a supersonic configuration. An analytical method is used to describe the shock pattern. It enables to take a critical look at the CFD (computational fluid dynamics) steady results. Based on this method, the shock losses are also evaluated. The good agreement between analytical and numerical values shows that this method can be useful to wisely forecast the mixing plane location and to evaluate the shift in performances due to the presence of the mixing plane.展开更多

The ship motions are criteria for limiting the port operations, human safety and preventing the damage of port equipment and furniture. Therefore, this study discusses moored ship motions due to severe wind-wave during the tropical cyclone Linda which entered the Gulf of Thailand in November 1997. The ship motions are represented in the moored ship analysis at SRH (Sriracha Harbour Port) and BLCP (BLCP Coal-Fired Power Plant Port), and are subject to the static environmental load on the ship in accordance with Spanish Standard (ROM 0.2-1990) [1]. The environment in numerical model is derived from the wave model and hydrodynamics model using the application of Delft3D-WAVE and Delft3D-FLOW. The model location includes Ao Udom Bay and Rayong Sea. The model results represent the environment at Rayong Sea which is more severe than Ao Udom Bay. The ship motions at BLCP are mostly larger than SRH.展开更多

The method includes several types of improved loss and deviation angle models, which are combined with the authors' adjustments for the purpose of reflecting the influences of three-dimensional internal flow in high-loaded multistage compressors with higher accuracy. In order to validate the reliability and robustness of the method, a series of test cases, including a subsonic compressor P&W 3S1, a transonic rotor NASA Rotor 1B and especially an advanced high pressure core compressor GE E^3 HPC, are conducted. Then the computation procedure is applied to the research of a 5-stage compressor which is designed for developing an industrial gas turbine. The overall performance and aerodynamic configuration predicted by the procedure, both at design- and part-speed conditions, are analyzed and compared with experimental results, which show a good agreement. Further discussion regarding the universality of the method compared with CFD is made afterwards. The throughflow method is verified as a reliable and convenient tool for aerodynamic design and performance prediction of modern high-loaded compressors. This method is also qualified for use in the further optimization of the 5-stage compressor.展开更多
