Of the three mangrove assemblages, the macrofauna species number, density, biomass, Richness index and Shannon-Wiener index were the highest, and the Simpson dominance index was medial at MC community. However the Pielou Evenness index of MC community was slightly lower than that at C community. At C community, the number of macrofauna species obviously reduced, especially infaunal, caving and adhering life forms, and the biomass and density were the lowest. Because of the even distribution of individuals of different species, the Simpson dominance index was the lowest and the evenness index was the highest. Although the Richness index at C community was slightly lower than that at MC community, the Shannon-Wiener index was near to that at MC community. At GC community, the number of macrofauna species, especially infaunal and caving life forms, continued to decrease comparing C community, but the biomass and density increased slightly. As the distribution of individuals of different species was uneven, the Simpson dominance index was the highest and the Pielou Evenness index was the lowest. Furthermore, the Richness index dropped to the lowest. The Shannon-Wiener index also dropped accordingly to the lowest. The dominant life forms of MC were infaunal and caving, while those of C and GC community were both caving. The ratio of the GS/GSB of macrofauna communities in the three mangrove assemblages were 0.48, 0.63 and 0.80, respectively. The community structures at the same mangrove assemblages were all quite similar, with those at GC community being most similar. However, there were obvious differences among the community structures at the three different mangrove assemblages. These results implied that the different mangrove assemblages had different affects on the macrofauna communities and shed light on the macrofauna adaptation capability to specific habitats.展开更多

Total meiofauna individuals averaged (1.162 ± 0.347) x10^6 ind m^(-2) and the corresponding biomass 1.748 ± 0.72 g dwt m^(-2) with the maximum 2.35 g dwtm^(-2) at Station 9594 and the minimum 0.537 g dwt m^(-2) at Station 11794. A total of fourteentaxa were identified. Free living marine nematodes were the most dominant group with an averageabundance of (1.026 ± 0.206) x 10~6 ind m^(-2), accounting for 88.5% of total numbers, and anaverage of 85.4% lived in the surface layer (0-2cm) of sediments. The individual dry weight wascalculated, which ranges from 0.01 μg to 31.32 μg with an average of 0.261 μg. One hundred andforty two species or taxa of free-living marine nematodes belonging to 89 genera, 24 families and 4orders were identified. Six of them were new species. The common dominant species were Dorylaimopsisrabalaisi, Sphaerolaimus balticus, Sphaerolaimus mini-tus, Metalinhomoeus longicauda,Prochromadorella attenuata., Campylaimus sp. 1, Vasostoma sp. 1, Daptonema nor-mandicum,Paramonohystera riemanni, and Promonhystera sp. 1. According to cluster analysis of Primer 5.0, thesix stations were clustered into 2 groups with similar species composition at 40% similarity. Thespecies diversity index (H′), evenness index (J) and species richness index (d) of nematode werecalculated and analyzed. Correlation analysis with respect to environmental factors showed that theabundance of meiofauna had a significant correlation with the median diameter of sediment (Md_φ).The species richness of nematodes had a highly significant correlation with Chl-a and significantcorrelations with Pha-a and Chl-a + Pha-a.展开更多

In this study, data on soft-sediment macrobenthos occurring in depths from 25 m to 81 m in the South Yellow Sea were used to compare changes in community structure. The agglomerative classification (CLUSTER) and multidimensional scaling (MDS) methods were applied. Five communities were recognized by cluster analysis: 1. The Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass community dominated by cold water species, which changed slightly in species composition since the 1950s; 2. The mixed community with the coexistence of cold water species and warm water species, as had been reported previously; 3. The polychaete-dominated eurythermal community in which the composition changed considerably as some dominant species disappeared or decreased; 4. The Changjiang (Yangtze) River Estuarine community, with some typical estuarine species; 5. The community affected by the Yellow Sea Warm Current. The greatest change occurred in the coastal area, which indicated that the change may be caused by human activities. Macrobenthos in the central region remained almost unchanged, particularly the cold water species shielded by the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass. The depth, temperature and median grain size of sediments were important factors affecting the distributions of macrobenthos in the South Yellow Sea.展开更多

Data were collected during two seasonal cruises in April and August of 2011, and analyzed with multivariate statistical methods. Up to 306 macrobenthic species were registered from the research areas, including 115 species of Polychaeta, 78 of Crustacea, 61 of Mollusca, 30 of Echinodermata, and 22 of other groups. Nine polychaete species occurred at frequencies higher than 25% from the sampling stations: Lumbrineris longifolia, Notomastus latericeus, Nin6e palmata, Ophelina acuminata, Nephtys oligobranchia, Onuphis geophiliformis, Glycera chirori, Terebellides stroemii, and Aricidea fragilis. Both the average biomass and abundance of macrobenthos are higher in August (23.8 g/m^2 and 237.7 ind./m^2) than those in April (11.3 g/m^2 and 128 ind./m^2); the dissimilarity ofmacrobenthic structures among stations is as high as 70%. In terms of the dissimilarity values, we divided the stations into four clusters in spring and eight in summer. The ABC curve shows that the macrofauna communities in high jellyfish abundance were not changed. Canonical correspondence analysis showed that depth, temperature, median grain size, total organic carbon of sediment and total nitrogen in sediment were important factors affecting the macrozoobenthic community in the study area.展开更多

However, how substrate specificity is determined and how the enzymes are regulated were largely unknown. We recently found that ceKDM7A, a PHD- and JmjC domain-containing protein, is a histone demethylase specific for H3K9me2 and H3K27me2, and the PHD finger binding to H3K4me3 guides the demethylation activity in vivo. To provide structural insight into the molecular mechanisms for the enzymatic activity and the function of the PHD finger, we solved six crystal structures of the enzyme in apo form and in complex with single or two peptides containing various combinations of H3K4me3, H3K9me2, and H3K27me2 modifications. The structures indicate that H3Kgme2 and H3K27me2 interact with ceKDMTA in a similar fashion, and that the peptide-binding specificity is determined by a network of specific interactions. The geometrical measurement of the structures also revealed that H3K4me3 associated with the PHD finger and H3K9me2 bound to the JmjC domain are from two separate molecules, suggesting a trans-histone peptide-binding mechanism. Thus, our systemic structural studies reveal not only the substrate recognition by the catalytic domain but also more importantly, the molecular mechanism of dual specifieity of ceDKM7A for both H3K9me2 and H3K27me2.展开更多

XRD patterns showed that the structure of complexes was significantly influenced by the surfactant concentration and the alkyl chain length, because obvious changes took place in the basal spacing. Furthermore, according to the XRD results, several arrangements of surfactant molecules within the hydrobiotite interlayer space were deduced. The FTIR spectrum indicated that the surfactant contents in complexes dramatically increased with the alkyl chain length. The SPM micrographs demonstrated that the surfaces of complexes prepared at lower surfactant concentration were relatively flat compared with that prepared at higher concentration, while those with higher surfactant concentration had much steeper surface due to the alkyl chain length. It was concluded that structure and morphology of surfactant/hydrobiotite complexes depend not only on the surfactant concentration, but also strongly on the surfactant species.展开更多

Polychaetes are indicators to assess marine pollution. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of brine discharge over softbottom polychaete community in Chabahar Bay. Forty-two sediment samples were collected from seven stations in pre summer monsoon (April 2011) and post winter monsoon (October 2011) using Van Veen grab sampler. Changes in the polychaeta data assemblages were analyzed using univariate and multivariate techniques. Thirty-one polychaete species were identified with the highest abundance in station 6 in pre monsoon period and the lowest abundance in station 1 in pre monsoon. The results showed that the abundance, richness and diversity indices were decreased in the stations near the discharges area comparing to control stations far from the brine discharges zone. CCA (Canonical correspondence analysis) showed that salinity and temperature have influenced the community structure of polychaeta.展开更多

Out of 30 missense mutations, I-Mutant 2.0, SIFT and PolyPhen programs identified 22 variants that were less stable, deleterious and damaging respectively. Subsequently, modeling of these 22 variants was performed to understand the change in their conformations with respect to the native aspartoacylase by computing their root mean squared deviation (RMSD). Furthermore, the native protein and the 22 mutants were docked with the substrate NAA (N-Acetyl-Aspartic acid) to explain the substrate binding efficiencies of those detrimental missense mutations. Among the 22 mutants, the docking studies identified that 15 mutants caused lower binding affinity for NAA than the native protein. Finally, normal mode analysis determined that the loss of binding affinity of these 15 mutants was caused by altered flexibility in the amino acids that bind to NAA compared with the native protein. Thus, the pre- sent study showed that the majority of the substrate-binding amino acids in those 15 mutants displayed loss of flexibility, which could be the theoretical explanation of decreased binding affinity between the mutant aspartoacylases and NAA.展开更多

Drillings in the BSR-distributed area (the District S) on the northern slope of the South China Sea suggested that gas hydrate only occurred at Sites SH2, SH3, and SH7 with high saturation (up to 20%-40%), and there is no hydrate at Sites SH1 and SH5 although the distance between SH1 to SH3 is only 500m. In this paper, we investigated seafloor gradient, fault development, temperature, and pressure in the District S on the northern slope of the South China Sea to understand the possible factors con- trolling BSR distribution and gas hydrate occurrence. The District S is a structurally fractured continental slope zone and its seafloor gradient varied greatly. The BSR-occurred areas have an average gradient of 19.89×10 2 whereas the BSR-free zone has the average gradient of 10.57×10 2 . The calculated relative structural intensities from fault densities and displacements show that the BSR-distributed areas tend to occur in the areas with a moderately high structural intensity, where faults frequently developed close to the seafloor that are possibly favored for lateral migration of gases. On the basis of temperatures and pressures at drilling sites, hydrate-occurred Sites SH2, SH3, and SH7 are located within the thermodynamically stable area for methane hydrate, and hydrate-absent Sites SH1 and SH5 are out of the thermodynamically stable area for methane hydrate formation, suggesting that both BSR and the thermodynamic stability are necessary for hydrate occurrence in the subsurface.展开更多

文摘Meiofauna (0.031-0.5 mm) were sampled and studied at a grid of six stationsduring the cruise of investigation for over winter ground of anchovy (Engraulis japonicus) in theSouthern Yellow Sea, China in January 2003. Correlation analysis with respect to environmental factors showed that theabundance of meiofauna had a significant correlation with the median diameter of sediment (Md_φ).The species richness of nematodes had a highly significant correlation with Chl-a and significantcorrelations with Pha-a and Chl-a + Pha-a.

文摘The ecological environment in the Yellow Sea has changed greatly from the 1950s to 1990s and this has had significant impact on marine organisms. The depth, temperature and median grain size of sediments were important factors affecting the distributions of macrobenthos in the South Yellow Sea.
文摘Due to the further intense human urbanization and industrialization, the environmental problems and climate changes became global issues that we have to face today.Like increasing environmental pollutants, ocean eutrophication,red-tide and acidification are causing irrevocably damages to the marine ecological environment. As an important part of marine ecosystem, macrobenthos plays an essential role in energy flow and substance circulation in the marine ecosystem. Therefore, the study of macrobenthic community structures and diversities were necessary, meanwhile the protection of macrobenthic diversity was also a tough problem. In recent years, many researches were mainly focus on Jiaozhou Bay of the Yellow Sea,the Yangtze Estuary, the coastal of Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces, while seldom on benthic organisms in the Bohai Sea.In this paper, the community structures and diversities of the common macrobenthos in the Bohai Sea were introduced and the macrobenthic response to environmental changes and environmental pollution caused by the construction of the Bohai Sea were also mentioned. The results showed that the large benthic fauna in th Bohai Sea was relatively simple compared to other China seas. There were about 400 species of large benthic organisms. The dominant species were low temperature and wide salt warm water. In the last five years, the annual average biomass was 23.82 g/m^2 and the annual average density was 1498 ind/m^2.The seasonal variation of average habitat density was usually summer autumn spring winter, and the average biomass was usually autumn spring summer winter.Original communities were destroyed and the dominant species appeared to be miniaturized caused by abuse of marine resources.Since the 21st century, the number of crustacean arthropods, bivalve molluscs, and echinoderms have decreased rapidly, but the number of polychaetes and small molluscs increased gradually. With the development of the comprehensive ecological management of the Bohai Sea,the ecological environment and habitat status in the studied area were remedied and improved.Afterwards, the trend of miniaturization was also suppressed. The results of this study presented some existed problems about marine ecological survey and provided some reasonable suggestions for the rational utilization and protection of marine resources.

文摘To understand the characteristics of macrobenthic structures and the relationship between environment and benthic assemblages in jellyfish bloom, we studied the macrobenthos and related environmental factors in the coastal waters of the Yellow Sea and East China Sea. Canonical correspondence analysis showed that depth, temperature, median grain size, total organic carbon of sediment and total nitrogen in sediment were important factors affecting the macrozoobenthic community in the study area.
文摘Histone lysine methylation can be removed by JmjC domain-containing proteins in a sequence- and methylationstate-specific manner. Thus, our systemic structural studies reveal not only the substrate recognition by the catalytic domain but also more importantly, the molecular mechanism of dual specifieity of ceDKM7A for both H3K9me2 and H3K27me2.
文摘To meet the current energy needs of society, the highly efficient and continuous production of clean energy is required. One of the key issues facing the green hydrogen evolution is the construction of efficient,low-cost electrocatalysts.Prussian blue(PB),Prussian blue analogs(PBAs),and their derivatives have tunable metal centers and have attracted significant interest as novel photo-and electrochemical catalysts. In this review, recent research progress into PB/PBA-based hollow structures,substrate-supported nanostructures, and their derivatives for green water splitting is discussed and summarized.First, several remarkable examples of nanostructured PB/PBAs supported on substrates(copper foil, carbon cloth, and nickel foam)and hollow structures(such as single-shelled hollow boxes, open hollow cages, and intricate hollow structures(multi-shell and yolk-shell))are discussed in detail, including their synthesis and formation mechanisms.Subsequently, the applications of PB/PBA derivatives((hydr)oxides, phosphides, chalcogenides, and carbides)for water splitting are discussed. Finally, the limitations in this research area and the most urgent challenges are summarized. We hope that this review will stimulate more researchers to develop technologies based on these intricate PB/PBA structures and their derivatives for highly efficient, green water splitting.

文摘In this study, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR) together with Scanning probe microscopy (SPM) were used to characterize the structure and morphology of the complexes, where the hydrobiotites (Xinfiang) were modified by single-chain surfactants octyltrimethylammonium bromide (OTMA) and octadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (ODTMA). It was concluded that structure and morphology of surfactant/hydrobiotite complexes depend not only on the surfactant concentration, but also strongly on the surfactant species.

文摘Based on macrobenthos collected from intertidal seagrass bed in Guangrao,Shandong Province in May 2013,the macrobenthic structure and diversity were analyzed.A total of 41 macrobenthic species were identified, among which crustaceans were the most speciose macrobenthic taxa(16 species),followed by polychaetes(15 species)and mollusks(10 species).Seven dominant macrobenthic species were identified, including 3 species of polychaetes,2 species of crustaceans and 2 species of mollusks. The total abundance across the whole sampling area was 661.33 ind/m2.Total abundance and the abundance of Potamocorbula laevis and Heteromastus filiformis showed significant spatial variation, and the macrobenthic abundance distributed in seagrass meadows was higher than that in other areas. The results of cluster,nMDS ordination,SIMPER and IMS analyses all showed no linear correlation along the distance gradient from the seagrass meadow. Therefore, degraded seagrass can still provide detectable but limited ecological services. However, the rehabilitation of seagrass bed is essential and urgent to regain their full ecological function.
文摘The brine discharge from desalination plants affects the benthic communities. CCA (Canonical correspondence analysis) showed that salinity and temperature have influenced the community structure of polychaeta.
文摘In this work, the most detrimental missense mutations of aspartoacylase that cause Canavan's disease were identified computationally and the substrate binding efficiencies of those missense mutations were analyzed. Thus, the pre- sent study showed that the majority of the substrate-binding amino acids in those 15 mutants displayed loss of flexibility, which could be the theoretical explanation of decreased binding affinity between the mutant aspartoacylases and NAA.

文摘Temperature and pressure on seafloor of the northern slope in the South China Sea are suitable for gas hydrate formation, but bottom simulation reflector (BSR), an indication of gas hydrate occurrence, only occurred in limited areas of the slope. On the basis of temperatures and pressures at drilling sites, hydrate-occurred Sites SH2, SH3, and SH7 are located within the thermodynamically stable area for methane hydrate, and hydrate-absent Sites SH1 and SH5 are out of the thermodynamically stable area for methane hydrate formation, suggesting that both BSR and the thermodynamic stability are necessary for hydrate occurrence in the subsurface.

文摘One judiciously designed strategy of utilizing an ultrathin but conductive Ga_(2)O_(3):Si nanolayer to prepare(AlGa)_(2)O_(3)crystalline film is demonstrated.Benefiting from the existence of Ga_(2)O_(3):Si nanolayer,a high-quality(Al_(0.68)Ga_(0.32))_(2)O_(3)sesquioxide film with 68 at.%aluminum was epitaxially grown on sapphire substrates, which was characterized by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. Its bandgap was broadened to 6.14 eV,and a vacuum ultraviolet(VUV)(AlGa)_(2)O_(3)/Ga_(2)O_(3):Si photodetector was subsequently fabricated. The detector exhibits a pretty high on-off ratio of about 10^(3),an open-circuit voltage of 1.0 V and a responsivity of 8.1 mA W^(-1) at 0 V bias voltage. The performances imply that the proposed strategy is valuable for improving the quality and also adjusting the bandgap of(AlGa)_(2)O_(3)sesquioxides,which is expected to facilitate their application in VUV photodetection.
