An engine cyclic variation model has been built by using the residual gas temperature for the n th cycle as the input of the model, through constant pressure intake process, adiabatic compression process, constan...An engine cyclic variation model has been built by using the residual gas temperature for the n th cycle as the input of the model, through constant pressure intake process, adiabatic compression process, constant volume combustion process, adiabatic expansion process, adiabatic blow down process and constant pressure exhaust process to approximate the thermodynamic processes in the cylinder, finally the residual gas temperature for the ( n+1) th cycle can be estimated. Because of the adding of engine operating parameters such as engine speed, spark advance, equivalence ratio, intake air pressure, intake air temperature to the model, effects of these parameters on cyclic variation can be estimated quantitatively. Since residual gas temperature fluctuation between cycles reflects the circumstances of engine cyclic variation, parameters to which residual gas temperature is sensitive are most likely used as the means to control cyclic variation. Model simulation shows that for the nearly stiochiometric mixture, cyclic variation is not obvious or even quite stable, but for the lean mixture, under the circumstances of partial load and larger spark advances, engine cyclic variations occur chaotically or with bifurcation.展开更多
Spherical flower-like Mg(OH)_(2) was fabricated from MgSO_(4) effluent and its adsorption performance for heavy metal ions was evaluated.The appropriate fabrication conditions are as follows:Mg^(2+)/NH4OH molar ratio ...Spherical flower-like Mg(OH)_(2) was fabricated from MgSO_(4) effluent and its adsorption performance for heavy metal ions was evaluated.The appropriate fabrication conditions are as follows:Mg^(2+)/NH4OH molar ratio of 1:0.5,temperature of 120°C and time of 1 h at Mg^(2+)concentration of 2 mol/L.Spherical flower-like Mg(OH)_(2) composed of ultra-thin sheets exhibits an excellent adsorption ability for Ni^(2+),Cu^(2+),Zn^(2+),Pb^(2+),Fe^(3+)and Co^(2+),and the adsorption reaches the equilibrium in 6 min.The maximum adsorption capacities of the studied heavy metal ions onto Mg(OH)_(2) at 20°C are 58.55,85.84,44.94,485.44,625.00 and 27.86 mg/g,respectively.The adsorption is well fitted by the Langmuir model,indicating that the adsorption is monolayer.The adsorption kinetics follows the pseudo-second-order model.Chemisorption is the operative mechanism.Spherical flower-like Mg(OH)_(2) is a qualified candidate for heavy metal ions removal.展开更多
Five different substrates were prepared using oyster mushroom residue,rice straw,peat soil,pine bark,volcanic rock and perlite.Orchids(variety Chunjian)were cultivated on these five substrates with substrate being mad...Five different substrates were prepared using oyster mushroom residue,rice straw,peat soil,pine bark,volcanic rock and perlite.Orchids(variety Chunjian)were cultivated on these five substrates with substrate being made from aseptic residue and straw as the control.The changes of physical and chemical properties of substrates and the growth of orchids were observed after three months.The results showed that the physical and chemical characters of the treatments and the control each had its own advantage,and there were no significant differences in the cultivation effects of all treatments.Therefore,the mushroom residue and decomposed rice straw are good substitutes for peat soil as soilless culture substrate in orchid cultivation.This research provides a scientific basis for the transformation of agricultural wastes into useful materials and can greatly stimulate the development of related industries.展开更多

VDH (very ...Commonly proposed concepts, like KBS-3V, for disposal of highly radioactive waste imply construction at medium depth (400-600 m) in granitic rock, which is excellent for constructing a stable repository. VDH (very deep boreholes) represent an altemative concept with the advantage that the rock is much less permeable and that the very salt, heavy groundwater is stagnant. Both require engineered barriers in the form of canisters and waste-embedding clay but for somewhat different purposes. Canisters are the most important waste-isolating barriers for KBS-3V but are less important for VDH. The waste-embedding clay is needed for preserving the KBS-3V canisters by being tight and ductile, but plays a minor role for the VDH. The backfilled deposition tunnels in a KBS-3V repository provide very limited hindrance of radionuclides to move to the biosphere while the clay seals of VDH effectively prevent possibly released radionuclides to reach up to the biosphere. Comparison of the KBS-3V and VDH concepts indicates that the last mentioned one has several advantages but that certain issues remain to be worked on for becoming a number one candidate.展开更多
