[Method] By flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS), the contents of various trace elements in potatoes were determined. [Result] Potatoes contain abundant trace elements such as Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn, Ca, K and Mg. To be specific, the contents of Ca, K and Mg were relatively high. [Conclusion] By using FAAS, the relative standard deviation was 1.17%-2.75% and the recovery rate was 97%-99.5%, indicating accurate and reli-able results with high precision.展开更多

The wood samples were partitioned into four quadrants and moisture contents were measured along the grain direction in the first and second quadrants from 0 degree to 150 degrees insteps of 30 degrees. Experimental results indicated that the average moisture content remained constant as the grain angle increased. Repeated measurements of moisture content at different grain angles or points on the wood surface showed similar patterns of variation. Within-point standard deviations of the moisture contents were greater than between-point standard deviations. A non-destructive method of measuring moisture content at the same location or point on the wood surfaces could not be proposed because of the high variation of moisture content when repeated measurements were taken at the same point. Instead, accurate measurements of moisture content could be obtained at random positions within a radius of 30 mm from the point of intersection of the moisture content axis and the grain angle.展开更多

In order to compare with the experimental results, a cylindrical computational domain is established, which is the same size with the hot calibration wind-tannel. In the computational domain, two kinds of thermocouples, the bare-bead and the single-shielded thermocouples, are simulated respectively. Surface temperature distribution and the tempera- ture measurement bias of the two typical thermocouples are compared. The simulation results indicate that: 1) The existence of the shield reduces bead surface heat flux and changes the direction of wires inner heat conduction in a colder surrounding; 2) The existence of the shield reduces the temperature measurement bias both by improving bead surface temperature and by reducing surface temperature gradient; 3) The shield effectively reduces the effect of the ambient temperature on the temperature measurement bias; 4) The shield effectively reduces the influence of airflow velocity on the temperature measurement bias.展开更多
