Gravity gradient tensors computation on 2D infinite horizontal cylinder and 3D "Y" type dyke models show that the results computed with the DCT technique are more accurate than the FFT technique regardless if the gravity anomalies are contaminated by noise or not. The DCT precision has increased 2 to 3 times from the standard deviation. In application, the gravity gradient tensors of the Hulin basin calculated by DCT and FFT show that the two results are consistent with each other. However, the DCT results are smoother than results computed with FFT. This shows that the proposed method is less affected by noise and can better reflect the fault distribution.展开更多

A knowledge-based network for Section Yidong Bridge,Dongyang River,one tributary of Qiantang River,Zhejiang Province,China,is established in order to model water quality in areas under small data.Then,based on normal ...A knowledge-based network for Section Yidong Bridge,Dongyang River,one tributary of Qiantang River,Zhejiang Province,China,is established in order to model water quality in areas under small data.Then,based on normal transformation of variables with routine monitoring data and normal assumption of variables without routine monitoring data,a conditional linear Gaussian Bayesian network is constructed.A "two-constraint selection" procedure is proposed to estimate potential parameter values under small data.Among all potential parameter values,the ones that are most probable are selected as the "representatives".Finally,the risks of pollutant concentration exceeding national water quality standards are calculated and pollution reduction decisions for decision-making reference are proposed.The final results show that conditional linear Gaussian Bayesian network and "two-constraint selection" procedure are very useful in evaluating risks when there is limited data and can help managers to make sound decisions under small data.展开更多

For each proper Poincar6 s...We investigate here various kinds of semi-product subgroups of Poincar6 group in the scheme of Cohen-Glashow's very special relativity along the deformation approach by Gibbons- Gomis-Pope. For each proper Poincar6 subgroup which is a semi-product of proper lorentz group with the spacetime translation group T(4), we investigate all possible deformations and obtain all the possible natural representations inherited from the 5 - d representation of Poincar6 group. We find from the obtained natural representation that rotation operation may have additional accompanied scale transformation when the original Lorentz subgroup is deformed and the boost operation gets the additional accompanied scale transformation in all the deformation cases. The additional accompanied scale transformation has a strong constrain on the possible invariant metric function of the corresponding geometry and the field theories in the spacetime with the corresponding geometry.展开更多
The aim of this paper is to describe and analyse the behaviour of heart rate variability(HRV)during constant-load,high-intensity exercise using a time frequency analysis(Wavelet Transform).Eleven elite cyclists took p...The aim of this paper is to describe and analyse the behaviour of heart rate variability(HRV)during constant-load,high-intensity exercise using a time frequency analysis(Wavelet Transform).Eleven elite cyclists took part in the study(age:18.6±3.0 years;VO_(2max):4.88±0.61 litres·min^(-1)).Initially,all subjects performed an incremental cycloergometer test to determine load power in a constant load-test(379.55±36.02 W;89.0%).HRV declined dramatically from the start of testing(p<0.05).The behaviour of power spectral density within the LF band mirrored that of total energy,recording a significant decrease from the outset LF peaks fell rapidly thereafter,remaining stable until the end of the test.HF-VHF fell sharply in the first 20 to 30 seconds.The relative weighting(%) of HF-VHF was inverted with the onset of fatigue,[1.6%at the start,7.1(p<0.05) at the end of the first phase,and 43.1%(p<0.05) at the end of the test].HF-VHF_(peak) displayed three phases:a moderate initial increase,followed by a slight fall,thereafter increasing to the end of the test.The LF/HF-VHF ratio increased at the start,later falling progressively until the end of the first phase and remaining around minimal values until the end of the test.展开更多
Ammonia (NH3) volatilization is one of the important pathways of nitrogen loss in alkaline soil, and the NH3 concentration in soil headspace is directly linked with the NH3 volatilization. Ammonia was characterized ...Ammonia (NH3) volatilization is one of the important pathways of nitrogen loss in alkaline soil, and the NH3 concentration in soil headspace is directly linked with the NH3 volatilization. Ammonia was characterized by Fourier transform mid-infrared photoacoustic spectroscopy (FTIR-PAS) and two typical absorption bands in the region of 850-1 200 cm-1 were observed, which could be used for the prediction of NH3 concentration in the soil headspaze. An alkaline soil from North China was involved in the soil incubation, pot and field experiments under three fertilization treatments (control without N input (CK), urea and coated urea). Ammonia concentrations in the soil headspace were determined in each experiment. In the soil incubation experiment, the NH3 emissions were initiated by the N input, reached the highest concentration on day 2, and decreased to the level as measured in CK after 8 d, with significantly higher NH3 emissions in the urea treatment compared to coated urea treatment, especially during the first 4 d. The NH3 concentration in soil headspace of the pot experiment showed the similar dynamics as that in the incubation experiment; however, the NH3 concentration in the soil headspace in the field experiment demonstrated a significantly different emission pattern with those of the incubation and pot experiments, and there was a 4-d delay for the NH3 concentration. Therefore, the NH3 concentration in the incubation and pot experiments could not be directly used to model the real NH3 emission in the field due to the differences in fertilization method and application rate as well as soil temperature and soil disturbance. It was recommended that light irrigation in the second week after fertilization and involvement of controlled release coated urea could be used to significantly decrease N loss from the perspective of NH3 volatilization.
