The nonlocal control/ability for the following nonlocal semilinear problems： u＇ （t） = Au （t） ＋ Bx（ t） ＋ f（ t, u（t） ）, 0≤t ≤ T with nonlocal initial condition u（0） = u0 ＋ g（u） is discussed in Banach space X. The results show that if semigroup S（t） is strongly continuous, the functionsf and g are compact and the control B is bounded, then it is nonlocally controllable. The nonlocal controllability for the above nonlocal problem is also studied when B and W are unbounded and the semigroup S（t） is compact or strongly continuous. By using two different measures （translation production and selection）, this study found： （1） Vocabulary can be acquired incidentally in reading passages; （2） There are no significant interactive effects of topic familiarity and second language proficiency on vocabulary acquisition, but the two independent variables of topic familiarity and second language proficiency exerted their positively significant effect on incidental vocabulary acquisition, and （3） As for the two vocabulary measures, learners can acquire more words in translation selection than in translation production.展开更多

However, corresponding to the third special case of our model, we show that the optimal schedules may be different from those of the classical version for the above objective functions.展开更多
