Liquid sloshing is a type of free surface flow inside a partially filled water tank.Sloshing exerts a significant effect on the safety of liquid transport systems;in particular,it may cause large hydrodynamic loads wh...Liquid sloshing is a type of free surface flow inside a partially filled water tank.Sloshing exerts a significant effect on the safety of liquid transport systems;in particular,it may cause large hydrodynamic loads when the frequency of the tank motion is close to the natural frequency of the tank.Perforated plates have recently been used to suppress the violent movement of liquids in a sloshing tank at resonant conditions.In this study,a numerical model based on OpenF OAM(Open Source Field Operation and Manipulation),an open source computed fluid dynamic code,is used to investigate resonant sloshing in a swaying tank with a submerged horizontal perforated plate.The numerical results of the free surface elevations are first verified using experimental data,and then the flow characteristics around the perforated plate and the fluid velocity distribution in the entire tank are examined using numerical examples.The results clearly show differences in sloshing motions under first-order and third-order resonant frequencies.This study provides a better understanding of the energy dissipation mechanism of a horizontal perforated plate in a swaying tank.展开更多

Due to historical condition reason, the pace of art design development in China is late. Since the reform and opening up, the art design obtains a long-term development in China. In order to adapt to the trend of world economy integration, all aspects of art design fields in China are learning from the foreign countries, however, it is hard to have a breakthrough creation in itself, and it lacks of domestic art design "localization" , which can not fully reflect the national culture and national elements. At the same time, the self-innovation power is weak, and the creation ability is insufficient, which also restricts the independent development of art design field to a higher level in China. The art design, as a comprehensive subject, is affected by many factors of society, science and technology and market for its own improvement. This paper mainly discusses from national culture level for art design, thinking that if the art design in China wants to develop higher, it needs to be based on the national culture and profound cultural base, constructing the art design products with Chinese national styles.展开更多

In this paper,the hydrodynamically generated noise by the flow over an open cavity is studied.First,aeroacoustic theories and computational aeroacoustic(CAA) methodologies are reviewed in light of hydrodynamic acousti...In this paper,the hydrodynamically generated noise by the flow over an open cavity is studied.First,aeroacoustic theories and computational aeroacoustic(CAA) methodologies are reviewed in light of hydrodynamic acoustics,based on which,a hybrid method is presented.In the coupling procedure,the unsteady cavity flow field is computed using large-eddy simulation(LES) ,while the radiated sound is calculated by the Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings(FW-H) acoustic analogy with acoustic source terms extracted from the time-dependent solutions of the unsteady flow.The hybrid LES-FW-H acoustic analogy method is tested with an open cavity flow at Mach number of 0.006 and Reynolds number of 105 .Following the reflection theorem of Powell,the contributions from different source terms are quantified,and the terms involving wall-pressure fluctuations are found to account for most of the radiated intensity.The radiation field is investigated in the frequency domain.For the longitudinal direction,the sound propagates with a dominant radiation downstream the cavity in the near-field and a flatter directivity in the far-field,while for the spanwise direction,the acoustic waves have a similar propagation along+z and-z directions,with no visible directivity.展开更多

By investigating the inner soil pressure on the cylinder wall and the base stress of the cylinder base, which were obtained from the model experiments, the interactions among the filler inside the cylinder, subsoil and cylinder are analyzed. The adjusting mechanism of frictional resistance between the inner filler and the wall of the cylinder during the overturning of the cylinder is discussed. Based on the experimental study, a method for calculating the base stress of the opened bottom cylinder structure is proposed. Based on break characteristics of roofs in fully mechanized top-coal mining of thick shallow coal seams, a fracture mechanics model was built, and the criterion of crack propagation in the main roof was derived using ...Based on break characteristics of roofs in fully mechanized top-coal mining of thick shallow coal seams, a fracture mechanics model was built, and the criterion of crack propagation in the main roof was derived using the fracture mechanics theory. The relationships between the fracture length of the roof and the working resistance of the supports were discovered, and the correlations between the load on the overlying strata and the ratio of the crack's length to the thickness of the roof were obtained. Using a working face of Jindi Coal Mine, Xing county Shanxi province as an example, the relationships between the fracture length of the roof and the working resistance of the supports were analysed in detail. The results give a design basis in hydraulic top coal caving supports, which could provide useful references in the practical application. On-site experiment proves that the periodic weighting step interval of the caving face is 15–16 m, which is basically consistent with the theoretical analysis results, and indicates that the mechanized caving hydraulic support is capable of meeting the support requirements in the mining of a super-thick but shallowly buried coal seam.展开更多

The results show that the taller the mining height at the upper protective layer face, the greater the protection on protected coal seam due to the higher level of pressure release; the upper protective layer face with hard rock floor impedes the pressure release at the protected coal seam, which affects the overall effect of the pressure release at protected coal seam using the protective layer mining method.展开更多
