目的观察天星开语口服液治疗风痰阻络型急性脑梗死言语障碍患者的临床疗效和安全性。方法收集2016年3月—2018年3月在普陀区中医医院脑病科治疗的风痰阻络型急性脑梗死言语障碍患者86例,随机分为2组。对照组44例给予言语康复训练,每日1... 目的观察天星开语口服液治疗风痰阻络型急性脑梗死言语障碍患者的临床疗效和安全性。方法收集2016年3月—2018年3月在普陀区中医医院脑病科治疗的风痰阻络型急性脑梗死言语障碍患者86例,随机分为2组。对照组44例给予言语康复训练,每日1次,每次30 min;治疗组42例在对照组治疗基础上加服天星开语口服液,每次20 mL,每日2次。2组疗程均为30 d,随访至90 d。统计2组治疗30 d、90 d言语障碍治疗效果,观察2组入组第1天治疗前、治疗30 d和治疗90 d汉语标准失语症检查(CRRCAE)评分变化和安全性。结果治疗30 d后,治疗组和对照组总有效率分别为83.3%(35/42)和61.4%(27/44),治疗组明显高于对照组(P<0.05);治疗90 d后,治疗组和对照组总有效率分别为88.1%(37/42)和72.7%(32/44),治疗组明显高于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗30 d后和90 d后,2组听、复述、说、朗读、阅读和计算评分均明显高于治疗前(P均<0.05),且治疗组治疗30 d后和90 d后说、朗读、阅读评分均明显高于同期对照组(P均<0.05),2组听、复述、计算评分比较差异均无统计学意义(P均>0.05)。2组患者在治疗过程中无明显不良反应和并发症发生。结论天星开语口服液治疗风痰阻络型急性脑梗死言语障碍疗效确切安全,对改善说、朗读、阅读障碍优势明显,且在后期洗脱期中该疗效可维持。 展开更多

The present study aimed at investigating the reliability and content validity of a comprehensive test of Interlanguage Pragmatics (ILP) developed for the academic situations in the Iranian context. To do so, a meta-analysis of 50 articles which had reported on the tests of ILP was done and the criteria required for the selection of the speech acts of academic situations were developed. Then a Multiple-Choice Discourse Completion Test (MDCT) of interlanguage pragmatics was developed and validated through native checked situations and items based on meta-pragmatics procedures. Participants of the study were 50 M.A. students majoring in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) studying at Iranian universities as well as 50 native speakers of English. The findings revealed that the test developed enjoyed high internal consistency and content validity. The present findings could contribute to the fields of second language testing and assessment in general and testing interlanguage pragmatics in particular. 展开更多

English Language Corpora as a Secondary ELT Resource for Indian Learners

The author proposes here for utilizing ELC (English Language Corpora) as a secondary resource for developing ELT (English Language Teaching) materials for teaching English to Indian learners. We argue for using ELC as one of the most authentic representative collections of modem English language from where we extract necessary linguistic data, information, and examples to develop basic as well as additional resources of ELT, such as, text books, reference materials, syllabuses, grammar books, dictionaries, and terminology databases, etc., for Indian learners. Keeping the requirements of individual learners in mind we propose to customize materials to make these maximally useful within the broader scheme of CALT (Computer Assisted Language Teaching). In our view, ELT resources developed from ELC are more useful for Indian learners, because ELC represents diversified varieties of usage of modem English in real situations, which Indian learners need to assimilate to be at par with others across the globe. Also ELC-based ELT resources are more interesting and beneficial to Indian learners, if instructors carefully utilize these resources keeping in mind the requirements of learners. If Indian ELT learners want to compete in global frame, then utilization of ELC-based ELT resources is the most useful solution, which we can ignore at the cost of our own peril. 展开更多

The Role of Lexis in Developing EFL Learners' Speaking Skill

EFL (English as a Foreign Language) speaking is a very demanding skill that requires learners' socio-pragmatic as well as strategic competence in any interactional situation, and lexis proves to play a crucial role in this process. However, few studies have investigated how both EFL teachers and learners view and analyze situations in which learners are not producing enough spoken language in class, and the reasons behind them. The present study will pinpoint the significant role of lexis in Moroccan learners' speaking production. To this end, 40 EFL teachers and 200 Moroccan high school students are surveyed and interviewed to reveal their perceptions of the speaking skill and the corresponding high significance of lexis in this instance. Results show that both teachers and learners identify vocabulary deficiency as the main factor behind students' inability to speak English. In the present paper, among the many suggestions that could be proposed to deal with this situation, it is argued that one efficient way would be to assist the students during the process of L2 (second language) vocabulary learning through vocabulary learning strategy instruction. Pedagogical and research implication will be given in response to the difficulties encountered in this area as have been identified by the EFL teachers and learners surveyed. 展开更多

However, there are only few studies in number that specifically deal with curriculum development in the field of English language teaching and its implementation in the Turkish context. Hence, the present study was designed to investigate Turkish national education curriculum and the sixth grade EFL (English as a foreign language) curriculum in Turkey through analyzing the documents belong to Turkish MoNE (ministry of national education). This study first presents what national education and the sixth grade EFL curriculum involve, and then investigates the drawbacks of them based on the predetermined criteria. Considering the special needs and the learning styles of their learners, foreign language teachers should use the most effective methods or approaches which are appropriate for their teaching strategies. Redundant or a diverse range of teaching techniques are not meant to use in the process of their learners' acquiring new vocabulary items; instead, the most effective and to the point teaching techniques in terms of each language skill should be employed. Efficiency of language learners in terms of their command of the vocabulary can be assessed through their understanding any reading or listening context and managing to be productive in speaking or writing procedures in language acquisition process. Phonological, morpho-syntactic, or socio-pragmatic positions of new lexical items as well as the learners' learning styles and multiple intelligences should all be taken into consideration by language teachers so that their learners could really reach an efficient level of vocabulary power. This efficiency has been identified as having a language passport in terms of the proficiency level of the learners within the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) for Languages by all EU countries in recent years. Foreign language teachers should try very hard to supply their learners with the required qualifications in every language skill so that they can have a linguistic identity both in their own societies and inter-cultural or multi-cultural contexts. Within this framework, foreign language teachers will hopefully make use of any suggested approach presented in this study so as to widen their learners' horizons in language acquisition process. 展开更多

This paper puts forwards Yanji City’s developing goal, urban nature, and urban size, probes its regional orientation, and further probes how to establish The Yanji Urban Economy Cooperation Zone. The authors think that Yanji should depend on its intellect resources and other characteristic resources. This study aimed at investigating the effect of Facebook on grammar discussion and writing skill in English as a foreign language for university students, The study sample consisted of 60 students at Oklt AI Sqoor College of Science and Arts in Saudi Arabia and was divided into two groups: 30 students for the experimental group and 30 students for the control group. The instrument of the study was an EFL grammar and writing test. Students in both the experimental and the control group were pre-tested using the EFL (English as a Foreign Language) grammar and writing test, After that the experimental group was taught using Facebook while the control group was taught using the traditional method. Finally, students in both groups were post-tested using the EFL grammar and writing test. Results of the study showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group in the post-test of EFL grammar and writing. This difference can be attributed to using Facebook. 展开更多

English is offered as a compulsory subject for all its students since the School's inception in 1971, and the subject has not moved beyond that status quo. However, in the new millennium, with USM having been selected as a research university with an apex status, the expectation of its stakeholders has increased. SDE needs to keep abreast with what is on and what is up in distance education teaching and learning so that its programmes remain relevant. It cannot remain complacent with its present courses Taking into consideration the current needs of its stakeholders within the realm of distance teaching and learning, the researchers carried out a research on the need for an EL programme. Findings show that the students agree that an English programme will help them improve their language and their upward mobility. Majority of the students will sign up for the course if it is offered.
