Methods A total of 180 essential hypertension patients were enrolled in our study. The determination of plasma Ang Ⅱ concentration, ambulatory blood pressure (ABP), and polysomnography (PSG) monitoring were performed before and 3 months after CPAP or surgical treatment. Results Patients were classified into three groups by their apnea-hypopnea index (AHI): essential hypertension group (EH group, n=72; AHI〈5), essential hypertension with mild SAS group (EH+mild SAS group, n=60, 5≤AHI〈20), and essential hypertension with moderate and severe SAS group (EH+moderate-severe SAS group, n=48, AHI_〉20). The concentrations of plasma AngⅡ in the above three groups were 13.42±3.27, 16.17±3.82, and 18.73±4.05 ng/mL respectively before treatment, and AngⅡ concentration in EH patients combined with SAS was significantly higher than that in EH group (all P〈0.05). After treatment the values in the latter two groups significantly decreased to 14.67±2.56 and 15.03±3.41 ng/mL respectively (P〈0.05). The incidence of non-dipper blood pressure curve in EH patients was 31.9%, and those in hypertensive patients with mild SAS and moderate-severe SAS were 51.7% and 58.3%, respectively before treatment. The incidence of non-dipper blood pressure curve in the EH patients with mild SAS was significantly higher than that of patients with EH alone (P〈0.05). After CPAP treatment or surgery, the incidence of non-dipper blood pressure curve in the two SAS groups was significantly decreased to 38.3% and 39.6%, respectively (P〈0.05). Conclusions Ang Ⅱ might play a role in blood pressure variability in patients with obstructive SAS. CPAP or surgical treatment can improve blood pressure disorder and decrease plasma Ang Ⅱ level in patients with obstructive SAS.展开更多

Methods Sixty-three patients with knee osteoarthritis in conformity with the diagnostic criteria were randomly divided into the tension-balance-acupuncture group (32 cases, balance group for short) and the conventional acupuncture group (31 cases, conventional group for short) according to random number table. In the balance group, patients with the pain in the anterior flexor group were needled at Biguan (髀关 ST 31), Fengshi (风市 GB 31), Heding (鹤顶 EX-LE 2),Dubi (犊鼻 ST 35), Yanglingquan (阳陵泉 GB 34), Xuehai (血海 SP 10) and Liangqiu (梁丘 ST 34) .Afterwards the patients were repositioned in prone position. They were given the treatment by needling at Huantiao (环跳 GB 30), Chengfu (承扶 BL 36), Weizhong (委中 BL 40), Weiyang (委阳 BL 39), Yinlingquan (阴陵泉 SP 9), Ququan (曲泉 LV 8) and Chengshan(承山 BL 57).Patients with the pain in the posterior extensor group were needled at ST 31, GB 31, EX-LE2, ST 35, GB 34, SP 10 and ST 34 .Then the patients were repositioned in prone position. They were given the treatment by needling at GB 30, BL 36, BL 40, BL 39, SP 9, LV 8 and BL 57. They were treated once a day with five days as a course of treatment and two days as an interval. After three courses, Lequesne indiceses before and after the treatment and clinical efficacy of the treatment were observed. In the conventional group, patients were treated in a sitting position by needling at ST 35, Xiyang (膝眼 EX-LE 5),Zusanli(足三里 ST 36), GB 34, Xuanzhong (悬钟 GB 39), SP 9, EX-LE2, ST 34, Shenshu (肾俞 BL 23) and Pishu (脾俞 20). They were treated once a day with five days as a course of treatment and two days as an interval. After three courses, the clinical efficacy of the treatment was observed. Results After three courses, improved Lequesne indices score was (5.55± 1.08) in the balance group while improved Lequesne indices score was (2.14 ± 0.57) in the conventional group, indicating that improved Lequesne indices score in the balance group was superior to that of the conventional group with the significant difference (P〈0.05); efficacy rate in the balance group was 84.37% while that of the conventional group was 58.06%, and efficacy rate in the balance group was superior to that of the conventional group (P〈0.01). Conclusion Clinical efficacy of treatment of knee osteoarthritis in the balance group was superior to that of the conventional group, worthy of clinical promotion.展开更多

The duration from injury to operation was 2 hours to 7 days. There were 5 left dislocations and 4right dislocations; 8 anterior dislocations and 1 posterior dislocation, including one combined with left scapular fracture and one with left olecranon fracture. Open reduction and internal fixation using K-wires and tension band wires were performed to treat dislocations. Results: All patients were followed up for 6 to 24months, 10 months on average. According to Rockwood's rating scale on postoperative sternoclavicular joint, 8 cases achieved excellent outcomes with an average score of 13.88,and the rest case achieved a good outcome with the score of 12. Anatomical reduction was obtained in all cases. There were no such postoperative complications as severe infection, injury to blood vessel and nerve, failure of fixation, etc. Patients were all satisfied with the anatomical reduction and functional recovery. Conclusions: The technique of K-wire and tension band wire fixation is safe, simple, effective, less invasive and has been successfully used in orthopedic surgery. It is effective in treating sternoclavicular joint dislocation though it has some disadvantages.展开更多

In the treatment of GA, he adopts the syndrome differentiation based upon the pathogenic factors, in combination of syndrome differentiation based upon the six meridians, to reinforce and benefit the spleen and kidney, clear away heat and remove dampness as the therapeutic principle. By acupuncture mainly at the acupoints of the Spleen and Liver Meridians, he also proposes to select the acupoints by the theory of Na Zi Fa (earthly branch method) ofZi Wu Liu Zhu (midnight-noon ebb-flow), and to puncture the surrounding area of the involved joints shallowly by multiple needles as the major needling method, simultaneously with the reinforcing and reducing manipulations based upon the respiration. In the treatment, acupuncture and acupoint-injection are often used. In diet, low purine diet is often suggested. In health education, the patients are often instructed to understand the disease correctly, eliminate fears and cooperate with doctor's treatment positively.展开更多

Methods: According to different clinical types, 150 cases of tonic headache were treated by the qi-regulating massotherapy. Evaluations were done according to the scores for physiology, behavior, intensity of pain, and the therapeutic effects. Results: After treatment, the total score in the 150 cases significantly decreased as compared with that before treatment (P<0.01). The total effective rate was 93.3%, and the effective rates for all the types were over 90%. Conclusion: The qi-regulating massotherapy is indicated for all types of tonic headache with obvious therapeutic effects.展开更多
