Usually, spectral moments are obtained by the frequency domain method. In present paper, the random response spectral moments of elastic-viscoelastic combined systems are calculated by complex modal analysis in the time domain. The analytical form results are obtained for random response spectral moments of an elastic-viscoelastic combined system to a stationary white noise excitation. The method presented is simple and easy to apply. It is hoped that this study would pave a way for the analysis of reliability of elastic-viscoelastic combined systems subjected to random excitations.展开更多

In the light of principal of virtual work, the simple expression of deflection, bending moment of elastic clamped plate were deduced under the condition of vertical uniform distributed load, horizontal pressure and supporting by elastic foundation, and then, the maximal bending moment expression was derived too. At the same time, the influence degree on square clamped plate by adding horizontal pressure and elastic foundation were analyzed. The results show that the effect of horizontal pressure on maximal bending moment can be ignored when the value of horizontal pressure is two orders of magni- tude less than that of coeificient of elastic stiffness existing elastic foundation.展开更多

The base-stacking interaction is described in a simple and uniform way. We obtain the phase diagram of dsDNA, and in particular, the transition from 13 form to the S state induced by stretching and twisting. The elastic response of the ssDNA is presented also in a unified formalism. The close relation of dsDNA molecule structure with elastic response is shown clearly. The calculated folding angle of the dsDNA molecule is 59.2°.展开更多

Oil film pressure is approximated using quadratic polynomial with intercrossing term and then mapped into the Hertz contact zone. Considering the randomness of the EHL, material properties and fatigue strength correction factors, the probabilistic reliability analysis model is established using artificial neural network(ANN). Genetic algorithm(GA) is employed to search the minimum reliability index and the design point by introducing an adjusting factor in penalty function. Reliability sensitivity analysis is completed based on the advanced first order second moment(AFOSM). Numerical example shows that the established probabilistic reliability analysis model could correctly reflect the effect of EHL on contact fatigue of spur gear, and the proposed intelligent method has an excellent global search capability as well as a highly efficient computing performance compared with the traditional Monte Carlo method(MCM).展开更多
