This paper makes attempt to establish a definition formalism of machining features in design for manufacturability from two aspects: formal definition and manufacturability analysis. Some definitions for machining feature based upon the selection and sequencing of material removal operations for component in accordance with the design geometry are presented and a framework of feature based design for manufacturability is outlined correspondingly. The proposed scheme contributes to several aspects of feature based CAD/CAM integration, especially to encourage potentially a more generic approach to the automation of design.展开更多
In the current work, to predict and improve the formability of deep drawing process for steel plate cold rolled commercial grade （SPCC） sheets, three parameters including the blanking force, the die and punch comer ...In the current work, to predict and improve the formability of deep drawing process for steel plate cold rolled commercial grade （SPCC） sheets, three parameters including the blanking force, the die and punch comer radius were considered. The experimental plan according to Taguchi＇s orthogonal array was coupled with the finite element method （FEM） simulations. Firstly, the data from the test of stress-strain and forming limit curves were used as input into ABAQUS/Explicit finite element code to predict the failure occurrence of deep drawing process. The three parameters were then validated to establish their effects on the press formability. The optimum case found via simulation was finally confirmed through an experiment. In order to obtain the complex curve profile of cup shape after deep drawing, the anisotropic behavior of earring phenomenon was modeled and implemented into FEM. After such phenomenon was correctly predicted, an error metric compared with design curve was then measured.展开更多
Every person has a more or less articulated worldview that I define in its most brief form as ＂a view on life＂. That might be a religious view and could be with or without a God-concept, but the religious domain for...Every person has a more or less articulated worldview that I define in its most brief form as ＂a view on life＂. That might be a religious view and could be with or without a God-concept, but the religious domain forms a sub-domain of the embracing domain of worldview. We can make a distinction between organized and personal worldviews. I will argue that pedagogically speaking schools should be aware of the value and relevance of worldview education especially focusing on the development of the students＇ personal worldview as an integral part of their personhood formation （＂Bildung＂）. Worldview and/or religion are part of the public and the social domain, although not undisputed, and that is why I make a plea for worldview education as part of citizenship education. Already in the school as an embryonic society （John Dewey） students should learn to live together with differences and this should also include the ability to recognize differences between worldview/religious. The results of empirical research projects in the Netherlands and also from a European Commission granted project ＂Religion in Education＂ have shown that students really want to learn from and are interested in the worldview of their fellow students. They are also in favor of schools where they can meet a diversity of worldviews among teachers and students. Dialogue and encounter are important to them. So, worldview education as part of citizenship education can foster students to learn to live peacefully together.展开更多

This paper is built on the study of one key blog-Wang Xiaofeng＇s No Guess （2006-2011） to explore how a Chinese intellectual uses his satirical skills in the blogosphere, how his blog reshapes the form of political ...This paper is built on the study of one key blog-Wang Xiaofeng＇s No Guess （2006-2011） to explore how a Chinese intellectual uses his satirical skills in the blogosphere, how his blog reshapes the form of political culture, and how the blogosphere through such interventions proceeds in the development of political communications in China. Two key issues are addressed in the paper. Firstly, drawing on the concept of ＂blogging culture＂, the author argues that blogging has potentially reconfigured political information around people＇s everyday lives, offering alternative modes of ＂public talk＂. The case of Wang Xiaofeng shows that satire can be used to make fun of the state, policies, and established ideologies, improving a previously restricted communicative environment toward more open. Secondly, the rise in the value placed on individualism in China, and the rise of peer-to-peer media mean that bloggers who pursue self-expression simultaneously through such self-expression. In other words, Wang Xiaofeng＇s No Guess blog demonstrates that individual opinions across the blogosphere have implicitly challenged political discourse; however, they always have to struggle with an ongoing censorship, negotiate an unstable discursive space and thus, can only enjoy a limited success.展开更多
