Several web sites, like www.chinaphoto.com, among others, have chosen as many as 400 images from among the works of 39 members of Yuncheng Photographers’ Association. Consequently, they have deeply felt that the surging waves of the market economy are breaking the Chinese image industry; and that photographers should adapt to the changing times and produce both artistic and market-oriented photos.展开更多
SimWall is a user-friendly, stereo tiled display wall system composed of 18 commodity projectors operated by a Linux graphics cluster. Collaborating together, these projectors work as a single logical display capable ...SimWall is a user-friendly, stereo tiled display wall system composed of 18 commodity projectors operated by a Linux graphics cluster. Collaborating together, these projectors work as a single logical display capable of giving a high-resolution show, large-scale, and passive stereo scene. In order to avoid tedious system setup and maintenance, software-based automatic geometry and photometric calibration are used. The software calibration is integrated to the system seamlessly by an on-card transform method and is transparent to users. To end-users, SimWall works just as a common PC, but provides super computing, rendering and displaying ability. In addition, SimWall has stereoscopic function that gives users a semi-immersive experience in polarized passive way. This paper presents system architecture, implementation, and other technical issues such as hardware constraints, projectors alignment, geometry and photometric calibration, implementation of passive stereo, and development of overall soft- ware environment.展开更多
An extensive review and analysis of the available global energy sources data and information from 38 countries including Pakistan, and their impacts （socio-economic, environmental, and health） shows that one of the ...An extensive review and analysis of the available global energy sources data and information from 38 countries including Pakistan, and their impacts （socio-economic, environmental, and health） shows that one of the most sustainable and environment friendly energy options （especially considering rural areas） is renewable energy （solar and wind）, while other options （in descending order） are hydro, nuclear and coal. The use of ＂oil and gas＂ as energy option is not cost effective due to its serious environmental, health and financial implications. The cost of producing 1 KWh of energy from oil and gas in Pakistan is around Rs. 20 （U.S. $ 0.19）, while the same costs for hydro power and coal are 1/10th and ~nd respectively. Appropriate and suitable energy options are proposed in view of the current energy situation, available natural resources （water, coal, wind and sun）, serious energy conservation efforts and efficient usage of available energy.展开更多

Zhao Fuqinq...At Xizhazi Village of Huairou County, Beijing, a section of the Great Wall, identified as Jiankou Great Wall, runs nearby, attracting many visitors especially pr otographers, both professional and amateur. Zhao Fuqinq and Lu Guihong, a local farmer couple, served 10 years as tour guides for these shutterbugs, and became friends with many of the visitors They eventually made their home a base for receiving photographers and it is affectionately called "The Home of Shutterbugs" by photo fans.展开更多
