From the perspective of the labyrinth narrative, this paper aims to analyze the relationship between the external form and internal theme by focusing on the textual structure’s imitation of labyrinth elements such as forking paths, nodes, and dead ends. Nabokov builds the labyrinth structure through fragmented narrative and unreliable narration, guides the readers to walk and circle in the labyrinth text through the pre-set reference objects, and finally completes the circular labyrinth with Shade’s death, which, with its multi-directional metaphorical connotation, leads to the exposition of the novel’s theme, namely, the relentless pursuit of the otherworld.展开更多
