微结构导流作用强化单气泡沸腾的速度/压力场分析

相对于光滑表面,微柱结构表面可以显著强化核态沸腾,强化机理主要有增大换热面积、增大核化密度、减小气泡脱离直径等,对于微结构内部的导流强化作用鲜有深入研究。利用多相流体积分数三维模型,定义了微结构表面单气泡沸腾重要的几何、... 相对于光滑表面,微柱结构表面可以显著强化核态沸腾,强化机理主要有增大换热面积、增大核化密度、减小气泡脱离直径等,对于微结构内部的导流强化作用鲜有深入研究。利用多相流体积分数三维模型,定义了微结构表面单气泡沸腾重要的几何、时间无量纲参数,通过对速度场和压力场的分析,讨论了沸腾过程中气泡、微柱与周围液体的相互作用。结果证明:微结构的间隙有利于液体的回流,在气泡底部的气液界面与基底之间建立的流动通道内导流作用明显,液体流速被显著提高,有效促进了气泡脱离,强化了单气泡换热。同时,微结构的导流作用促使在微柱结构底部及侧壁面产生了高压薄液膜;底部的薄液膜具有毛细引流能力,维持了气泡内部微柱根部的液相区域;侧壁面上的薄液膜取代了原来的干烧区域,传热面积增大,换热效率显著提高。 展开更多

Polyether ether ketone(PEEK)has good mechanical properties.However,its high viscosity when molten limits its use because it is hard to process.PEEK nanocomposites containing both carbon nanotubes(CNTs)and polyether imide(PEI)were pre-pared by a direct wet powder blending method using a vertical injection molding machine.The addition of an optimum amount of PEI lowered the viscosity of the molten PEEK by approximately 50%while producing an increase in the toughness of the nanocom-posites,whose strain to failure increased by 129%,and fracture energy increased by 97%.The uniformly dispersed CNT/PEI powder reduced the processing difficulty of PEEK nanocomposites without affecting the thermal resistance.This improvement of the strength and viscosity of PEEK facilitate its use in the preparation of thermoplastic composites. 展开更多

Three kinds of composite micro-channels with metallic porous structures were designed. The sintering process was studied and optimized to obtain porous-structured micro-channels with high porosity. The flow resistance and heat transfer performance in the composite micro-channels were investigated. The composite micro-channels show acceptable flow resistance, significant enhancement of heat transfer and dramatic improvement of flow boiling stability, which indicates a promising prospect for the application in forced convective heat transfer. 展开更多

Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) ceramic coatings were fabricated in a silicate-based electrolyte with the addition of potassium fluorozirconate (K2ZrF6) on 6063 aluminum alloy, and the effects of current density on microstructure and properties of the PEO coatings were studied. It was found that pore density of the coatings decreased with increasing the current density. The tribological and hardness tests suggested that the ceramic coating produced under the current density of 15 A/dm2showed the best mechanical property, which matched well with the phase analysis. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization curves proved that the coating obtained under 15 A/dm2 displayed the best anti-corrosion property, which was directly connected with morphologies of coatings. 展开更多

Ti-doped graphite-like carbon (Ti-GLC) films were synthesized successfully by magnetron sputtering technique. The compositions, microstructures and properties of the Ti-doped GLC films dependent on the parameter of Ti target current were systemically investigated by Raman spectra, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), nanoindentation and ball-on-disk tribometer. With the increase of the Ti target current, the ratio of sp2 bond and the content of Ti as well as the film hardness and compressive internal stress increase, but the high content of the Ti would result in the loose film due to the formation of the squamose structure. Less incorporated Ti reduces the friction of the GLC film in dry-sliding condition, while pure GLC film exhibits the lowest friction coefficient in water-lubricated condition. Ti-GLC film deposited with low Ti target current shows high wear resistance in both dry-sliding and water-lubricated conditions. 展开更多

This paper summarizes recent data about magnesite and talc genesis in Carboniferous host rocks of Western Carpathians (Slovakia) , which occur in two distinct belts in tectonic superunit Veporicum and its contact zone with Gemericum. The northern Sinec magnesite and talc belt (with main deposits Kokava, Sinec, Samo, Hnust'a-Mutnik) contains economic accummulation of magnesite and talc, while in the southern Ochtina belt ( main deposits in Dubrava massif-Dubrava, Mikova, Jedl'ovec; Lubenik, Ochtina, Kosice-Bankov, Banisko, Medvedia) the magnesite is dominating.The magnesite genesis by successive replacement of Carboniferous calcite to dolomite and magnesite during metamorphic process Ml (northern belt 280-400℃; , southern belt 370-420℃: ; Radvanec & Prochaska, 2001; Kodera & Radvanec, 2002) , being supplied by Mg from Permoscythian evaporitic bittern brines, relates to Variscan post-collisional (post-VD) evolution. The extensional tectonics and the high heat flow facilitated the generation of a hydrothermal system.The time-separated later metamorphic and sourcely different fluid flow event (M2; 1. c. ) produced talc. Tectonic, microtectonic, metamorphic and geochronological data relate the talc origin with the Alpine Upper Cretaceous (88-84 Ma; Maluski in Kovacik et al. , 1996) tectonothermal event AD2. This event, being the consequence of Alpine collisional ( AD1 ) crustal thickening and metamorphic core complex origin, meant regional extension and pervasive fluid flow of open system in crustal discontinuities. This process was prominent in the northern belt ( Sinec shear zone) located more closely to Veporic thermal dome, while towards its peripheral parts (southern Ochtina belt) the M2 metamorphic process and steatitization gradually weakened.Studies from Sinec shear zone (being the prominent AD2 -AD3 structure of northern Sinec belt) , where the dolomite/magnesite lenses (replacement in M1) and their accompanying lithology were in AD1 sandwitched between more competent basement blocks, proved in AD2 the pervasite steatitization, the talc and dolomite 2 origin in extensional microstructures ( metamorphic process M2; 490 -540℃, 240-330 MPa, 1. c. ).The economic accummulations of talc in Sinec belt are the products of antithetic shearing during the AD3 phase, being the gradual continuation of AD2 ( change of kinematics from unroofing to regional transpressional shearing). Contrary to the northern Sinec belt having located the AD3 deformation into narrow shear zone with soft lithology surrounded by hard lithology, in southern Ochtina belt the deformation AD3 was accommodated by wide soft rock column with rigid carbonate blocks floating inside. The lower P-T ( M2)conditions and deformational gradient in Ochtina belt during AD2 and AD3 phases caused why no economic talc accummulations developed there.The results of presented study can be used as general criteria for magnesite and talc prospection in Alpine type terranes. 展开更多

The microstructure and properties of the 93W-4Ni-2Co-1Fe(mass fraction,%) tungsten heavy alloys prepared by mechanical alloying and electric current activated sintering from mixed elemental powders were investigated.After 15 h milling,the average W grain size in the powders is decreased to 120 nm.For the powders milled for 15 h,the density,hardness and transverse rupture strength of the alloys sintered only by an intensive pulse electric current are the maximum.When the total sintering time keeps constant,the properties of the sintered alloys can be obviously improved by optimizing the sintering time of pulse-and constant-currents.A bulk ultrafine alloy with an average W grain size of about 340 nm can be obtained by sintering 15 h-milled powders in a total sintering time of 6 min.The corresponding sintered density,hardness and transverse rupture strength reach 16.78 g /cm3,HRA84.3 and 968 MPa,respectively. 展开更多

In this paper, an innovative jet lifted flame with side micro-jets has been proposed and its effects on the flame structure have also been investigated. Due to the changes of the initial combustion conditions, mixing and aerodynamics which resulted from the perturbation of the side micro-jets, such a lifted jet flame has different flame structure compared with the common premixed flame. Results demonstrate that use of the micro-jets can control, to a certain extent, the flame structure, including the flame length, lift-off distance and blow-off limit. With the same fuel and air flow rate, the flame length with the side micro-jets will decrease about 5%-40% as the air volume ratio a increases from 58%-76%. Compared with the common diffusion flame, the jet flame with the side micro-jets demonstrates to be easier to be a momentum-dominated flame. The flame length with 2 micro-jets is about 5% less than with 6 micro-jets under the same fuel and air flow rate. With the same a, the fewer number of the controlled jets lead to the flame with relatively shorter length, not easier to be blown off and higher NOx emission. With certain fuel flow rate, the critical air volume ratio is largest for the flame with 3 micro-jets, which is more difficult to be blown off than the cases with 2, 4 or 6 micro-jets. 展开更多

Microstructures and mechanical properties of dual-phase AlxCrMnFeCoNi (x=0.4, 0.5, 0.6, at.%) alloys were investigated. Thermomechanical processing leads to a microstructural evolution from cast dendritic structures to equiaxed ones, consisting of face-centered cubic (fcc) and body-centered cubic (bcc) phases in the two states. The volume fraction of bcc phase increases and the size of fcc grain decreases with increasing Al content, resulting in remarkably improved tensile strength. Specifically, the serrated flow occurring at the medium temperatures varies from type A+B to B+C or C as the testing temperature increases. The average serration amplitude of these Al-containing alloys is larger than that of CoCrFeNiMn alloy due to the enhanced pinning effect. The early small strain produces low-density of dislocation arrays and bowed dislocations in fcc grains while the dislocation climb and shearing mechanism dominate inside bcc grains. The cross-slip and kinks of dislocations are frequently observed and high-density-tangled dislocations lead to dislocation cells after plastic deformation with a high strain. 展开更多

It has been known that the productivity of artesian wells is strongly dependent on the rheological properties of crude oils. This work targets two deep artesian wells(>5000 m) that are producing heavy crude oil. The impacts of well conditions including temperature, pressure and shear rate, on the crude oil rheology were comprehensively investigated and correlated using several empirical rheological models. The experimental data indicate that this heavy oil is very sensitive to temperature as result of microstructure change caused by hydrogen bonding. The rheological behavior of the heavy oil is also significantly impacted by the imposed pressure, i.e., the viscosity flow activation energy(Eμ) gently increases with the increasing pressure. The viscosity–shear rate data are well fitted to the power law model at low temperature. However, due to the transition of fluid feature at high temperature(Newtonian fluid), the measured viscosity was found to slightly deviate from the fitting data. Combining the evaluated correlations, the viscosity profile of the heavy crude oil in these two deep artesian wells as a function of well depth was predicted using the oilfield producing data. 展开更多

A mathematic model of two-phase flow and a physical model of two-dimensional (2D) vertical section for the plate-type structured packing Mellapak 250.Y were set up and verified. The models were used to study the influence of packing’s surface microstructure on the continuity of liquid film and the amount of liquid holdup. Simulation results show that the round corner shape and micro wavy structure are favorable in remaining the continuity of liquid film and increasing the amount of liquid holdup. The appropriate liquid flow rate was determined by investigating different liquid loadings to obtain an unbroken liquid film on the packing surface. The pressure difference between inlet and outlet for gas phase allowed gas and liquid to flow countercurrently in a 2D computational domain. The direction change of gas flow occurred near the phase interface area. 展开更多

The flow behavior of pressure-driven water infiltration through graphene-based slit nanopores has been studied by molecular simulation.The simulated flow rate is close to the experimental values,which demonstrates the reasonability of simulation results.Water molecules can spontaneously infiltrate into the nanopores,but an external driving force is generally required to pass through the whole pores.The exit of nanopore has a large obstruction on the water effusion.The flow velocity within the graphene nanochannels does not display monotonous dependence upon the pore width,indicating that the flow is related to the microscopic structures of water confined in the nanopores.Extensive structures of confined water are characterized in order to understand the flow behavior.This simulation improves the understanding of graphene-based nanofluidics,which helps in developing a new type of membrane separation technique. 展开更多

We address problems in the development of large-scale flotation columns that use short cylinders. As a starting point, we investigated the packing medium to identify a highly efficient internal packing for the flotation column. The chosen packing was a honeycomb structure with an aperture diameter of 80 mm, a web thickness of 0.80 mm, a film height of 1000 mm, packed into a 400 mm diameter space, which completely filled the vessel at optimal cost. The column consisted of a modular ring of single-hole hexagonal honeycomb tube packing made from atactic polyproplene (PP-R). The packing was tested in a cyclonic, static micro-bubble flotation column. Computational fluid dynamic modeling was used to analyze the flotation fluid in a honeycomb tube packed flotation column. Our results show that the fluid axial movement was maximized and that the transverse fluid velocities were zero in the vicinity of axial flow. Using the honeycomb tube packing for copper sulfide flotation we observed that the average concentration in the product was increased to 25.41%, from an average feed concentration of 0.729%, with an average recovery of 92.92%. Microstructure profiling measurements taken on a shallow Black Sea shelf and in Lake Banyoles and Boadella reservoir (Both in Spain) are analyzed to investigate the influence of boundary-layer-induced turbulence of various sources on mixing in the water interior. The state of turbulence in shallow waters is examined and details of microstructure data processing and error analysis are discussed. The dependence between averaged activity parameter A6 and buoyancy Reynolds number Reb for the shelf turbulence indicates that for Reb 〈 1 the state of turbulence can be described by the fossil turbulence model, which postulates AG - Re b^1/2. For Reb 〉 1, however, the influence of Reb on Ao is weak, signifying that the buoyancy Reynolds number can no longer serve as the governing parameter for active turbulent mixing. The generation of turbulence by a one-minute long wind bursts (the Boadella reservoir) increases the averaged dissipation rate (ε) of the surface mixed layer by more than 5 times (up to 3 × 10^-6 W kg^-1). The influence of the wind bursts was also traced below the thermocline, where turbulent patches with (ε) = (10^-7 - 10^-6) W kg^-1 were generated. It is shown that the geothermal convection in Lake Banyoles produces intermittent turbulent patches with characteristic dissipation rate (ε) = (2 × 10^-8- 3 × 10^-7) W kg^-1, which influences the overall vertical mixing in the basin. 展开更多

A brief review of the former studies on the mechanisms of soil rheology and microstructure is presented. Then a microstructure model and a set of rheological constitutive relations for sott clays, which describe how the rheological consolidation settlement develops, are established in the framework of the catastrophe theory. The validity of this model is verified by a series of rheological consolidation experiments with different loading rates. The experimental data show that creep deformation can be clearly observed in these tests, and the consolidation settlement is loading rate dependent. The characteristics of the deformation can be explained and reproduced successfully using the model. It can be concluded that only the biggest set of voids would collapse for one load increment. Parameters in the model, k and η, are gained by curve fitting. With only two free parameters, good fits of the data are achieved. 展开更多

To research the influence of oxygen flow rate on the structural and optical properties of TiO2 thin film,TiO2 films on glass were deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering.The microstructure and optical properties were measured by X-ray diffractometry,AFM and UV-VIS transmittance spectroscopy,respectively.The results show that the films deposited at oxygen flow rate of 10 mL/min has the lowest roughness and the highest transmittance.The absorption angle shifts to longer wavelengths as oxygen flow rates increase from 5 to 10 mL/min,then to shorter ones as the oxygen flow rate increase from 10 to 30 mL/min.The band gap is 3.38 eV,which is nearly constant in the experiment.For the TiO2 thin films deposited at 10 mL/min of oxyge flow rate,there are nano-crystalline structures,which are suitable for anti-reflection(AR) coating in the solar cells structure system. 展开更多

Herein the biowaste by-product spent coffee grounds(SCGs)from coffee industry were incorporated into asphalt binders for performance enhancement.From the analysis of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),dynamic shear rheometer(DSR),and Brookfield viscosity rheometer,it is confirmed that SCGs have potential prospects as bio-waste modifiers in the application of sustainable pavements.Results demonstrated that the modification process was mainly based on physical reinforcement.Compared with that of the neat asphalt,the shearing stress-resistant ability and high-temperature performance of the SCGs modified binders with the appropriate addition presented a bit of improvement;whereas the binders with 1%and 3%SCGs exhibited remarkably enhanced low-temperature stability.However,notable weaknesses of practical performance were shown for the binder with excessive content of SCGs,indicating the necessity of proportion selecting before application. 展开更多

Impact polypropylene copolymer (IPC), named polypropylene catalloy, not only possesses excellent impact property, but also presents good rigidity. Its superior performances result from the complicated composition and microstructure. In the present article, recent progress in the studies on microstructure, morphology, crystallization and rheological behavior of IPC is summarized, and findings of the authors and their collaborators are reported. In general, IPC is divided into three components, i.e., ethylene-propylene random copolymer (EPR), a series of different segment lengths ethylene-propylene copolymer (EbP) and propylene homopolymer. The reasonable macromolecular structures of EbP and a multilayered core-shell model of dispersed phase structure in IPC were proposed, in which the dispersed phase consists of an outer EbP shell, an inner EPR layer and an EbP core. It is found that the annealing at melt-state may lead to an abnormal phase inversion, and the phase inversion disappears when temperature cools down to room temperature. The cause of phase inversion is ascribed to the existence of EbP component, which results in the stronger activity of the dispersed phase. The crystalline structure and morphologic results confirm the formation of β-iPP in IPC. Furthermore, it is found that the ethylene content in IPC and cooling rate of the samples have an important influence on the formation of β-iPP. Based on the crystallization kinetics analyzed by Lauritzen-Hoffman theory, crystallization behavior of different IPC samples is discussed and it is proposed that the dilution effect of ethylene propylene copolymer has a more remarkable influence on surface nucleation than on crystal growth. In addition, annealing at high temperature can result in the changes of chain structure for IPC, and this instability is ascribed to the oxidative degradation and crosslink reaction mainly in iPP component. 展开更多
