The aim is to furnish insights for the prevention of psychological disorders. Methods: The study subjects were current college students from different colleges of Yan’an University. A cluster sampling approach was utilized, involving 1620 freshmen of 2021 and 424 students of 2012. Mental health was assessed using the SCL-90 scale. Results: The average scores across all factors for the 2021 freshmen ranged from 1.20 ± 0.32 to 1.64 ± 0.53, exhibiting a decrease compared to the 2012 scores of 1.32 ± 0.37 to 1.68 ± 0.50 (t-test, P t-test, P χ2 test, P χ2 = 133.000, P < 0.001). Conclusion: The mental health status of college students at Yan’an University has evolved over the past decade, with the overall mental health standard in 2022 surpassing that of 2012.展开更多
