Methods: In the first part of the study for observing psychological changes, a total of 90 volunteer armed policemen participating in anti-terrorism maneuver were randomly and evenly divided into anti-chemical weapon group, flight reconnaissance group and hostage-rescuing group. 30 logistic personals were selected to form control group. Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) questionnaire was used to assess the psychological state of these anti-terrorism policemen. In the second part of the study for observing the effect of acupuncture, 60 policemen with anxiety and depression who were determined by Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) were randomly and evenly divided into non-acupuncture and acupuncture groups, and other 30 policemen with normal psychological state were selected to form control group. Two weeks before anti-terrorism maneuver, participants of acupuncture group were asked to receive continuous acupuncture treatment of bilateral Neiguan (内关 PC 6) and Zusanli (足三里 ST 36), once daily, 15 min every time. Results:Comparison among the first 4 groups displayed that the total scores, scores of body feeling reactions, interpersonal relation, depression, anxiety, terror, and psychological problems of flight reconnaissance and hostage-rescuing groups were significantly higher than those of control group (P<0.05-0.01), suggesting that the psychological stress pressure was strongest in flight reconnaissance policemen and secondary in hostage-rescuing policemen, followed by anti-chemical weapon policemen. Following administration of acupuncture intervention, scores of both SDS and SAS in acupuncture group were considerably lower than those of non-acupuncture group (P< 0.01), showing that acupuncture intervention could reduce psychological stress reactions in the armed policemen undergoing anti-terrorism exercise. Conclusion: Before anti-terrorism exercise, neerly all the armed policemen have different degrees of psychological problems, while acupuncture intervention can improve their psychological state.展开更多

Methods: The 538 patients with primary breast cancer who underwent surgery in the Department of Breast Surgery, First Hospital of China Medical University, Shenyang, China, from January 2004 to January 2009 were included in the study. The psychological status of the patients was evaluated by body image after breast cancer questionnaire (BIBCQ), social support rating scale (SSRS), self-rating anxiety scale (SRAS), depression rating scale (DRS), and general information questionnaire. The factors influencing the self-image were selected by a stepwise regression analysis. Results: The patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery were the most satisfied with their body image, followed by those underwent surgery of modified radical mastectomy with reconstruction. However, cases treated by modified radical mastectomy without reconstruction had negative outcomes. Regardless of operation type, the self-image was influenced by anxiety, level of abuse by husband, and sexual satisfaction after operation. Conclusion: The self-image of patients who underwent different breast cancer surgeries was influenced by different factors, and individualized nursing should be offered in accordance with the specific situation.展开更多

Although HF is highly prevalent in nursing home residents, it is not clear whether the recommendations in the guide-lines for pharmacological therapy also are followed in nursing home residents. The aim of this study is to investigate how HF is treated in nursing home residents and to determine to what extent the current treatment corresponds to the guidelines.MethodsNursing home resi-dents of five large nursing home care organizations in the southern part of the Netherlands with a previous diagnosis of HF based on medical records irrespective of the left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) were included in this cross-sectional design study. Data were gathered on the (medical) records, which included clinical characteristics and pharmacological- and non-pharmacological treatment. Echocardiography was used as part of the study to determine the LVEF.ResultsOut of 501 residents, 112 had a diagnosis of HF at inclusion. One-third of them received an ACE-inhibitor and 40% used aβ-blocker. In 66%, there was a prescription of diuretics with a preference of a loop diuretic. Focusing on the residents with a LVEF£ 40%, only 46% of the 22 residents used an ACE-inhibitor and 64% aβ-blocker. The median daily doses of prescribed medication were lower than those that were recommended by the guidelines. Non-pharmacological interventions were recorded in almost none of the residents with HF.ConclusionsThe recommended medical therapy of HF was often not prescribed; if pre-scribed, the dosage was usually far below what was recommended. In addition, non-pharmacological interventions were mostly not used at all.展开更多

文摘Objectives This study aimed to assess the level of resilience and related factors among patients with coronary heart disease. Methods A cross-sectional was used to determine the factors associated with the level of resilience.A convenience sampling technique was used to recruit 134 patients with coronary heart disease who attended the out-patients cardiology clinics at two leading public hospitals in Jordan from July to September 2017.The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC)was used to collect the data via a face-to-face structured interview.Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis test were used to analyze the data. Results The results showed a moderate level of resilience among patients with coronary heart diseases.Patients who reported having no history of a cardiac procedure reported a higher total resilience score(69.50[63.25,75.00]vs.65.50[58.00,72.00])and a higher score in dimension 1,“personal competence, high standards, and tenacity”than their counterparts(22.00[18.50,26.00]vs.21.00[15.75,23.00])(P<0.05).Dimension 3“positive acceptance of change and secure relationships”score was higher for employed patients than retired patients(15.00[14.00,16.00]vs.14.00[12.00,15.00])(P<0.05).However,no significant associations were found between other socio-demographic characteristics and resilience levels across the five dimensions. Conclusion Identifying the resilience level and related factors among patients with cardiac problems should be integrated into the comprehensive plan of care to improve patient quality of life, enhance effective coping strategies, improve mental health and well-being,and prevent further disease complications.
文摘Objective:To observe psychological changes of the armed policemen under stress state and the effect of acupuncture intervention for exploring possible measures in raising the armed policemen's capability in dealing with the suddenly-occurred accidents. Conclusion: Before anti-terrorism exercise, neerly all the armed policemen have different degrees of psychological problems, while acupuncture intervention can improve their psychological state.
文摘Objectives:This study aims to investigate the environmental and individual factors contributing to male nurses'psychological well-being and to explore the psychological mechanisms that may explain the links between nurses'practice environment and work engagement, thereby presenting the implications for nurse managers. Methods:A total of 161 male nurses from three tertiary first-class hospitals in Changsha City in China participated in the study. We collected the data using the Practice Environment Scale of the Nursing Work Index, the Psychological Capital Questionnaire, and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale. Results:Scores of male nurses'practice environment(2.88±0.31),psychological capital(4.42±0.62),and work engagement(3.17±1.39)were all above the midpoint;however, the subscales"the nursing staffing and resources adequacy"(2.72±0.48),"hope"(4.33±0.72),and"dedication"(2.96±1.61)scored lowest.Nurses'practice environment and psychological capital positively predicted nurses'work engagement;psychological capital fully mediated the influence of nurses'practice environment on work engagement. Conclusions:Creating a supportive nursing practice environment can increase male nurses'work engagement by developing their psychological capital.Nurse managers can then provide reasonable workload and pathways for male nurses to achieve goals, thereby fostering their hope.
文摘Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the level of self-image of patients after breast cancer surgery, and explore factors influencing self-image among patients who have experienced different types of surgeries, and set out a foundation for the improvement of care strategies. Conclusion: The self-image of patients who underwent different breast cancer surgeries was influenced by different factors, and individualized nursing should be offered in accordance with the specific situation.
文摘Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a complex clinical syndrome resulting from inefficient myocardial pumping, and is characterised by a typical progressively deteriorating trajectory punctuated by serious episodes of acute disease decompensation.High prevalence of hospital admission has been reported.[2] However, around 40% of hospital admissions was avoidable if patients demonstrate consistent self-care.
文摘Objective:This study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Conditions for Workplace Effectiveness Questionnaire-Ⅱ-Arabic Version(CWEQ-Ⅱ-AV),which measures structural empowerment among nurses. To enhance the usability and credibility of the CWEQ-Ⅱ among researchers within Arabicspeaking countries,a valid and reliable Arabic version of the measure is necessary. Methods:A cross-sectional research design was used. From December 2018 to June 2019,275 nurses working in 4 hospitals participated in the study.Reliability was assessed by examining internal consistency and split-half reliability.A confirmatory factor analysis was performed to evaluate the factor structure of the CWEQ-Ⅱ-AV.Results:The psychometric properties of the CWEQ-Ⅱ-AV were excellent regarding the six-factor model(opportunity, information, resources, support, formal power, and informal power). The results showed the following fit indices meet the criteria set a priori:comparative fit index(CFI)=0.96,root mean square of error approximation(RMSEA)=0.06,andХ^(2)/df=2.08.Cronbach's a coefficient was 0.95 for the total questionnaire and ranged between 0.83 and 0.89 for the individual subscales. The split-half reliability was 0.91 for the total questionnaire and ranged from 0.83 to 0.87 for individual subscales. Conclusion:This study provides evidence that CWEQ-Ⅱ-AV is both a reliable and valid measure of structural empowerment among Arab nurses.
文摘Objectives:lnterprofessional collaboration in the training of nursing and psychology students helps provide students of both disciplines with the ability and competences they need to best attend to their patients. This study implemented and analyzed a method for developing the competences of each discipline in a scenario of joint clinical simulation that incorporates mental and physical health simultaneously, and measured the caring ability of the participating students. Methods:Participants took a self-applied survey measuring their own caring ability. After,a clinical simulation was performed where nursing students performed clinical interviews on psychology students, who acted as standardized patients.Caring abilities were measured in the nursing students, and the psychology students implemented an intervention service measuring caring ability and brief-debrief simulation by coaching to nursing students. Results:The results indicated that the self-applied questionnaire of caring ability resulted in scores significantly higher than what was measured by observers. Conclusions:The results contribute to the development of protocols, training and collaborative work practices in interprofessional education, which allow the scaling of these competences.
文摘BackgroundFor the treatment of chronic heart failure (HF), both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment should be em-ployed in HF patients. In addition, non-pharmacological interventions were mostly not used at all.
