This concept analysis will provide a theoretical lens for nurses to help cancer patients to developself-management strategies and enables them to improve their ability in symptom self-management of home-basedrehabilitation. Method: Walker and Avant’s framework (2011) was used to analyse the concept of self-management.Results: Self-management is defined as a dynamic process that involves perception of one’s needs, resource utilisation, problem solving and active participation. Antecedents of self-management include self-efficacy, disease knowledge andsocial support. Improving cancer patients’ ability in symptom self-management can improve their health outcomes andquality of life and reduce healthcare expenditures. Although Strategy and Effectiveness of Symptom Self-Managementscale is perceived as an ideal instrument to measure self-management and thus it is used worldwide, whether thisinstrument fits to measure this concept for cancer patients in Chinese context has still not yet been verified and thusfurther research is needed. Conclusion: According to the concept analysis, nurses should encourage cancer patients toinvolve actively in making a home-based rehabilitation plan and promote their ability in symptom self-management ofhome-based rehabilitation so as to improve their health outcomes and reduce healthcare expenditures.展开更多

Most Western scholars and some modem Chinese scholars so far have failed to pay attention to these critical achievements. This article intends to expound the global contributions of Chinese aesthetics in three ways. One is Laozi's interpretative mode of grandeur, another is Zhuangzi's notion of mutual generative aesthetics and the other Mencius's view of philosophical beauty.展开更多

Thisconcept analysis will inform healthcare professionals of promoting nursing care for head and neck cancer survivors andeventually improve their quality of life. Method: Concept analysis based on Walker and Avant’s framework. Results:Quality of life is a subjective and personally derived cognitive evaluation of global well-being by perceiving a feeling ofoverall life satisfaction in his/her own value, happiness, and the independence to manage daily activities and lifeexperience. Three defining attributes for quality of life were identified: a feeling of overall life satisfaction in his/hervalue, global personal well-being, and independence. An improvement of quality of life means an improvement ofclinical outcome. However, the variety of instruments for measuring life quality makes it difficult for healthcareprofessionals to select a standard one for head and neck cancer survivors. Conclusion: By proposing a comprehensivedefinition of the concept, this analysis contributes to the advancement of knowledge about quality of life in the context ofhead and neck cancer survivorship. Through a sound understanding of the phenomenon, healthcare professions willrecognize or measure head and neck cancer survivors’ life conditions in a more accurate way and to implementintervention where necessary, eventually, improve patients’ life quality in survivorship.展开更多

The perceived quality exceeds the role of brand image’s vector by perceptions’ differentiation to constitute an irrational link between objective characteristics (power engine, resistance) and subjective perceptions (facilitated hand grip, hardness of a steering wheel). The emotional expectations’ controls turn out many fields. It supposed to know and understand the perceptions of its customers. Its feelings must be objectively identified and quantified to be reproduced. The touch is the most solicited sense after the sight during the exploration of a product but it still undertaken in account. After an explication of sensory data’s integration to products’ conception, we resume different techniques to objectivize perceptions and how to link them to consumers’ preference. Then we present a new philosophy Touch design, which attest that the characterisation of the tactile feeling transmitted by a product is an important challenge. At least, we insist on the necessary coordination between design and technical engineering leading to the development of sensory communication tools and sensory-instrumental correlations.展开更多

To achieve this, the research follows three related steps: (1) to carry out a review of the literature on reputational risk in the banking sector aimed to identify the relationships between causes, effects, stakeholders, and key qualitative-quantitative variables involved during the reputational crisis of a bank; (2) to propose a conceptual framework for management of reputational risk (and reputational crisis) in banking; (3) to test this framework with the results of an empirical analysis, carried out through the observation of key variables of some reputational crisis of intemational banks. The main results show that: (1) the banks are not yet prepared to accurately manage a reputational crisis or to prevent them; (2) the reputational crisis is determined by several internal and external factors; (3) the conduct of the managers and the corporate communication are very important to overcome a reputational crisis. Finally, this research provides indications that will help banks to better manage their corporate reputation and prevent reputational crisis.展开更多

The method is contained in the conceptual framework. The article provides the constitutional legal landscape--or the overarching laws of the land--and the co-regulatory framework within which journalists work. There are four research explications: the Protection of State Information Bill (dubbed the Secrecy Bill), a painting of the president and Freedom of Expression, an arson attack on a community radio station and finally, the death of a photojournalist at the hands of police. The argument here is that the death, the arson attack, the Secrecy Bill, and the shut-down of dissent during the exhibition of the painting of the president all undermine democracy and signify significant closures for the media in the now 20-year-old post-apartheid South Africa. The analysis and reflections will be framed within theories of radical democracy, which argue for more fights and contestations and more voices from the margins in order to deepen democracy, rather than rational consensus which closes the spaces for greater plurality.展开更多

A mechanism of resource recovery motivating from waste in economic system (designers, producers, consumers, stakeholders in the field of disposal of the product) is suggested. The classification of institutional and economic instruments in the field of waste management as recoverable resources is developed. The author has proposed a scientific and methodical approach to the formation of an integrated waste management as recoverable resources, which is based on a set of methods of economic incentives at all stages of product life cycle and ensures the maximum possible and the environmentally safe management of wastes containing valuable resource components.展开更多

More precisely, I am interested in the observer's imagination as it is manifested in this relationship. I argue that every act of empathy involves the imagination, but the act of imagination is never understood as an act of empathy. This article will take a new approach towards the perception of a work of art and challenges the traditional notion of empathy as "looking into," "looking in," or "seeing-in." I describe the experience of empathy as a lived experience, where I understand it as a type of intentional act that is distinct from imagination; meanwhile, I show that the imagination plays a role in the empathetic experience of the work of art. How? I understand this situation as one that brings the observer into a new reality, an intersubjective mode of being where she finds a better understanding of her own (as an observer) inner world. I wish to argue that empathy gives a new dimension to experience, where being "here" becomes being "there." Empathy is in fact a special form of meeting the Other. In the case of a work of art, we do not meet the Other as a person who lives their daily life like everyone else; instead we have an independent empathetic experience of the world, taking place within the work of art, in relation to the depicted subject. The nature of empathy is that it enables the observer to enter the deepest intimacy of the work of art and dwell inside it. This depends solely on the observer on how open they are to this world and how much it coincides with the observer's will, as she always retains limitless freedom when interpreting a work of art.展开更多

Data were gathered and analyzed using a conceptual framework that consisted of a multicultural citizenship based on the liberal theoretical perspective. The results indicate that indigenous educators face dilemmas in being cultural elites while considered national education policy implementer. Findings illustrate that indigenous elementary school educators are expected to possess differentiated-group privileges in teaching practices; however, they are confronted with both internal restrictions and external protections during establishing of ethnic cultural identity while playing their roles in the national educational apparatus. It will argue that the Beatles produced an anti-hegemonic masculine discourse through a number of aspects of their work, challenging ideas about men and masculinities prevalent at the time of their existence as a working group and beyond. Rooted in the literature on men and masculinities the paper draws together a number of authors' work and presents ideas from the author's own work, using discourse analysis of the Beatles' live action films, based on a framework suggested by Foucault, Van Dijk, Hall, and McKee. An exploration of the ways in which the Beatles challenged and subverted traditional ideas about masculinity and the way in which their global fame provided a vehicle for representations of alternative versions of masculinity is the basis of the resultant discussion.展开更多
