As an important method to improve students’ critical thinking ability, debate has been widely valued by academics and educators. Existing literature mostly focuses on exploring specific English debate teaching models and methods, while there is a relative lack of research on the elements needed to cultivate debating talents. Based on four years of research, this paper summarizes the FECIT (Fund, Emotion, Competition, Integration, Teamwork) element model for cultivating English debating talents under the British Parliamentary (BP) debating format. This paper aims to add a new research perspective and an empirical case for English debate education in China, and to give reference to other teachers.展开更多
