The influence of pre-stretching on quench sensitive effect of high strength Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Zr alloy AA 7085 sheet was investigated by tensile testing at room temperature,transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and different...The influence of pre-stretching on quench sensitive effect of high strength Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Zr alloy AA 7085 sheet was investigated by tensile testing at room temperature,transmission electron microscopy(TEM)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The water-cooled and aged alloy exhibits higher strength than the air-cooled and aged alloy;2.5%pre-stretching of tensile deformation exerts little effect on strength of water-cooled and aged alloy but increases that of air-cooled and aged one,and therefore the yield strength reduction rate due to slow quenching decreases from about 3.8%to about 1.0%,reducing quench sensitive effect.For the air-cooled alloy,pre-stretching increases the sizes ofη'strengthening precipitates but also increases their quantity and the ratio of diameter to thickness,resulting in enhanced strengthening and higher strength after aging.The reason has been discussed based on microstructure examination by TEM and DSC.展开更多

[Result] The kemel yield of common maize was increased or changed slightly, and the embryo weight was increased significantly after they were pollinated with the pollen of hightoil maize. The kemel embryo percentage and protein content of common maizethigh oil maize hybrids were higher than those of common maize inbreds. METHODS: Literature databases including PubMed, ISI web of science and ot...AIM: To investigate the association between GSTM1 and GSTT1 polymorphisms and the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in Chinese population. METHODS: Literature databases including PubMed, ISI web of science and other databases were searched.Pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% CI were calculated using random- or fixed-effects model. Subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were also performed. RESULTS: Nineteen studies of GSTM1 (2660 cases and 4017 controls) and 16 studies of GSTT1 (2410 cases and 3669 controls) were included. The GSTM1/GSTT1 null genotypes were associated with increased risk of HCC in Chinese population (for GSTM1, OR = 1.487, 95% CI: 1.159 to 1.908, P = 0.002; for GSTT1, OR = 1.510, 95% CI: 1.236 to 1.845, P = 0.000). No publication bias was detected. In subgroup analysis, glutathione S-transferases polymorphisms were significantly associated with HCC risk among the subjects living in high-incidence areas, but not among the subjects living in low-incidence areas. CONCLUSION: The present meta-analysis suggests that GSTM1/GSTT1 null genotypes are associated with increased risk of HCC in Chinese population.展开更多

The volunteers were randomized to receive a milk-based drink containing either Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG), Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis Bb12 (Bb12), or Propionibacterium freudenreichii ssp. shermanii JS (PJS) or a placebo drink for 3 wk. Venous blood and saliva samples were taken at baseline and on d 1, 7 and 21. Fecal samples were collected at baseline and at the end of intervention. RESULTS: The serum hsCRP expressed as the median AUC0-21 (minus baseline) was 0.018 mg/L in the placebo group, -0.240 mg/L in the LGG group, 0.090 mg/L in the Bb12 group and -0.085 mg/L in the PJS group (P = 0.014). In vitro production of TNF-α from in vitro cultured peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) was significantly lower in subjects receiving LGG vs placebo. IL-2 production from PBMC in the Bb12 group was significantly lower compared with the other groups. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, probiotic bacteria have strain-specific anti-inflammatory effects in healthy adults.展开更多

A meta-a...Background Telehealth interventions (THI) were associated with lower levels of cardiovascular risk factors in adults, whereas the effect of THI on cardiovascular disease (CVD) still remains controversial. A meta-analysis was conducted to summarize the evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCT) which investigated potential impact of THI on the incidence of CVD in patients with or without prior CVD. Methods PubMed, EmBase, and the Cochrane Library were searched to identify RCTs to fit our analysis through December 2016. Relative risk (RR) with its 95% confidence interval (CI) was used to measure the effect of THI using a random-effect model. Sensitivity analysis, subgroup analysis, heterogeneity tests, and tests for publication bias were also conducted. Results Eight RCTs were included and with a total of 1635 individuals. The summarized results indicated that participants who received THI showed a significant reduction of the CVD incidence as compared with usual care (RR: 0.59; 95% CI: 0.47-0.74; P 〈 0.001). Furthermore, the effect of THI was greater in patients with history ofCVD (RR: 0.55; 95% CI: 0.44-0.70; P 〈 0.001) than in patients without history ofCVD (RR: 0.99; 95% CI: 0.51-1.94; P = 0.977). Sensitivity analysis suggested that the intervention effect persisted and the conclusion was not changed. Subgroup analysis indi- cated mean age, study quality might play an important role on the risk of CVD. Conclusions The findings of this study indicated THI could reduce the recurrence of CVD. Further large-scale trials are needed to verify the effect of THI on CVD in healthy individuals.展开更多
Mergers & acquisitions (M&As) are important strategic instruments, yet nearly half of all transactions fail, often resulting in disastrous write-offs and losses for corporations and financing institutions alike - ...Mergers & acquisitions (M&As) are important strategic instruments, yet nearly half of all transactions fail, often resulting in disastrous write-offs and losses for corporations and financing institutions alike - despite promising prospects upfront. Applied research has been trying to find a "panacea" to prevent or at least predict M&A failure, investigating motives, synergies and performance. Despite the growing unease with the stationary explanatory models in literature, research has only marginally focused on the concept of time, with inquiries into market timing and integration speed. Yet other timing concepts have been neglected in concepts so far despite early empirical evidence for their existence. The purpose of this paper is thus to identify and elaborate on the importance of further relevant theories of timing. For this, and true to the exploratory nature of the topic, the authors have chosen a qualitative comparative case study design based on existing case reports which are investigated for narrations highlighting timing concepts. This study reveals six factors which have a crucial impact on the M&A outcome: time of acquisition, M&A duration in its entirety, M&A sequence, synergy chronology, frequency of acquisitions and time to step back. It contributes to theory and practice in outlining the careful attention that needs to be paid in planning in these factors to enhance the chances of a successful M&A transaction.展开更多

Methods: Research of prospective, randomized,...Objective: The purpose of the present study was to retrospectively and systematically evaluate the feasibility and safety of laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer. Methods: Research of prospective, randomized, controlled studies addressing laparoscopic gastrectomy versus open gastrectomy was screened through computer-based online system. Meta-analysis of acquired data was performed. The inverse variance method was used to test the significance of continuous data, while the ManteI-Haenszel method was used for dichotomous data. The chi-square test was used for evaluation of data heterogeneity. Homogenous data were calculated using the fixed effect model, and heterogeneous data were calculated using freedom model. Statistical data were expressed as 95% confidence interval (95% CI). Funnel plot was used for sensitivity analysis to show potential publication bias. Results: Five papers met the inclusion criteria, 164 cases underwent laparoscopic gastrectomy and 162 cases received open gastrectomy. Meta-analysis revealed that laparoscopic gastrectomy took longer operating time and removed fewer lymph nodes than open gastrectomy (both P 〈 0.01), but for early-stage gastric cancer, laparoscopic gastrectomy was superior to open gastrectomy in terms of blood loss and hospital stay (P 〈 0.01). But there were no significant differences in terms of time to resumption of oral intake, postoperative complications, postoperative morbidity rate, and tumor recurrence. Sensitive analysis demonstrated that publication bias existed in all indices to different extents with the exception of lymph node. Subgroup analysis showed that for D1 lymph node dissection, laparoscopic gastrectomy took significantly reduced blood loss than open gastrectomy. Conclusion: All these findings indicate that laparoscopic gastrectomy for early stage gastric cancer is feasible and safe.展开更多

Cytopathic effect (CPE) and neutral red (NR) dye uptake were used to examine the...To study the antiviral effect of Hypericum perforatum L. extract (HPE) on influenza A virus (IAV) (H1N1) in vitro and in vivo. Cytopathic effect (CPE) and neutral red (NR) dye uptake were used to examine the antiviral effect of HPE on Madin Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cells which were infected with IAV in vitro HPE was effective against influenza A virus (IAV) in vitro, with a 50% effective concentration (EC50) of 40 ug/mL, The mean 50% cytotoxic concentration (CC50) in the MDCK used in these experiments was 1.5 mg/mL. Ribavirin was run in parallel with EC50 values of 5.0 ug/mL; the mean CC50 for ribavirin was 520 ug/mL. Oral gavage administrations of HPE or ribavirin to mice infected with the IAV were highly effective in preventing death, slowing the decline of arterial oxygen saturation, inhibiting lung consolidation and reducing lung virus titers. The minimum effective dose of HPE in these studies was 31.25 mg/kg/day, which was administered twice daily for 5 d beginning 4 h prior to virus exposure. Below a dosage of 2000 mg/kg/day, almost all treated mice survived, which suggests that HPE is of low toxicity. Ribavirin's minimum effective dose was 40 mg/kg/day with the LDso determined to be 200 mg/kg/day. Delay of the initiation of either HPE or ribavirin therapy, using approximately 1/3 LD50 dose each time, could still be protective as late as 48 h after exposure to the IAV. While both agents appeared to have similar efficacy against IAV infections, HPE was considered to be less toxic and may warrant further evaluation as a possible therapy for influenza.展开更多

The comparison of stent patency between self-expandable metal and plastic stents in palliation of malignant biliary obstruction is meaningful. We carried out a meta-analysis to summarize current evidence for clinical efficacy of self-expandable metal and plastic stents in the treatment of malignant biliary obstruc- tion. Methods: A comprehensive search of several databases including CNKI, Wanfang Data, Sino MED. A fixed-effects or random-effects model was used to pool data of aU study endpoint. Sensitivity analysis was also performed. Results: Eight randomized clinical trials were identified, including 633 patients. These results suggested that the self-expandable metal stents were associated with a significantly longer stent patency (OR = 8.15; 95% CI: 2.80-23.76; 12 = 85%). No publication bias was observed. Conclusion: Self-expanding metal stents have a longer patency than plastic stents and offer adequate palliation in patients with malignant bUiary obstruction.展开更多

We report a 65-year-old patient with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and fibrosis, who was unable to receive interferon because of systemic hypersensitivity. The patient was desensitized successfully through gradual incremental exposure to interferon, and HCV infection was eradicated after a complete course of treatment, with no further allergic reactions. This case report that describes successful eradication of hepatitis C in a patient with advanced liver disease after desensitization to interferon revealed that desensitization may not necessarily damage the therapeutic efficacy of the drug.展开更多
Nitric oxide(NO)emissions from alpine ecosystems conventionally being long-term cultivated with feed crops are not well quantified.The authors attempted to address this knowledge gap by performing a year-round experim...Nitric oxide(NO)emissions from alpine ecosystems conventionally being long-term cultivated with feed crops are not well quantified.The authors attempted to address this knowledge gap by performing a year-round experimental campaign in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau.Fertilized(F)and unfertilized(UF)treatments were established within a flat calcareous-soil site for the long-term cultivation of feed oats.NO fluxes and five soil variables were simultaneously measured.A single plow tillage accounted for approximately 54%–73%of the NO releases during the cropping period(CP);and the non-cropping period(NCP)contributed to 51%–58%of the annual emissions.The direct NO emissions factor(EFd)was 0.021%±0.021%.Significantly lower Q10 values(p<0.01)occurred in the F treatment during the CP(approximately 3.6)compared to those during the other period or in the other treatment(approximately 4.9?5.1),indicating a fertilizer-induced reduction in the temperature sensitivity.The selected soil variables jointly accounted for up to 72%(p<0.01)of the variance for all the fluxes across both treatments.This finding suggests that temporally and/or spatially distributed fluxes from alpine calcareous-soil ecosystems for feed crop production may be easily predicted if data on these soil variables are available.Further studies are needed to test the hypothesis that the EFd is larger in alpine feed-oat fields than those in this study if the soil moisture content is higher during the period following the basal application of ammoniumor urea-based fertilizer.展开更多

High-resolution flexible electronic devices are widely used in the fields of soft robotics,smart human-machine interaction,and intelligent e-healthcare monitoring due to their mechanical flexibility,ductility,and comp...High-resolution flexible electronic devices are widely used in the fields of soft robotics,smart human-machine interaction,and intelligent e-healthcare monitoring due to their mechanical flexibility,ductility,and compactness.The electrohydrodynamic jet printing(e-jet printing)technique is used for constructing high-resolution and cross-scale flexible electronic devices such as field-effect transistors(FETs),flexible sensors,and flexible displays.As a result,researchers are paying close attention to e-jet printing flexible electronic devices.In this review,we focused on the latest advancements in high-resolution flexible electronics made by e-jet printing technology,including various materials used in e-jet printing inks,the process control of e-jet printing,and their applications.First,we summarized various functional ink materials available for e-jet printing,including organic,inorganic,and hybrid materials.Then,the interface controlling the progress of e-jet printing was discussed in detail,including the physical and chemical properties of the functional ink,the interfacial wettability between the ink and substrate,and the microdroplet injection behavior in a high-voltage field.Additionally,various applications of e-jet printing in the fields of flexible electrodes,FETs,flexible sensors,and flexible displays were demonstrated.Finally,the future problems and potential associated with the development of next generation e-jet printing technology for flexible electronic devices were also presented.展开更多

A retrospective analysis was p...This study aimed to analyze the clinical efficacy and safety of itraconazole. We investigated 68 patients with invasive fungal infections(IFI) in emergency intensive care unit(EICU). A retrospective analysis was performed in patients with IFI who were treated in the authors' institution, a grade III first class hospital in Beijing, China, between Feb. 2013 and Feb. 2015. The age of patients ranged from 35 to 90 years old with the mean age of(75.1±11.1) years old. The study population comprised 36 male and 32 female patients. Total response rate was 60.3%. The response rates in definitive diagnosis, clinical diagnosis and presumed diagnosis were 33.3%, 59.5% and 65.2%, respectively(P〈0.05). The empirical treatment should be provided for patients with presumed diagnosis as earlier as possible. Eleven(16.2%) cases had adverse drug event(ADE) during treatment. The main signs were hepatic functional impairment and hypokalemia of ADE. The clinical efficacy and safety of intravenous itraconazole were precisely assessed. To reduce the adverse drug reaction(ADR), hepatic and renal function and other biochemical criterion should be closely monitored.展开更多

This is performed commonly for data obtained over b...Reflectance measurements of both the visible and infrared bands of passive remote sensing sensors are widely used to retrieve aerosol optical depth(AOD) information. This is performed commonly for data obtained over both ocean and land, and these measurements allow for the off line development of a lookup table using radiative transfer models. Owing to molecular and aerosol effects, the reflected light received by the sensor is usually highly polarized. The linear polarization effect may be up to 100%, and the polarization factor of a sensor optical system will change the total intensity as well as the polarization status of the signal reaching the detector. The detector response will be different when the incident light polarization status changes, even if the total intensity remains constant. However, if the polarization calibration is neglected, it will cause obvious errors in the aerosol data retrieval. This is especially true for aerosol optical depth retrieval over an ocean. This measurement relies directly on the reflectance output of the sensor. Cases involving land surfaces are not discussed herein because the inhomogeneous properties conceal the error due to polarization. Taking the 550 and 860 nm bands as examples, the difference between the real top-of-atmosphere(TOA) reflectance and the reflectance reaching the detector is calculated using three different sensor polarization standards according to the Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor(Sea Wi FS) and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) standards. The differences in AOD retrieval are also demonstrated using the lookup table developed previously from a vector radiative transfer code. The results reveal that under a normal situation in which the AOD is 0.15, the maximum AOD retrieval error could reach 0.04 in 550 nm but only 0.02 in 860 nm for the dust aerosol model. For the soot aerosol model, the maximum AOD retrieval error is 0.1 in 550 nm and 0.12 in 860 nm, indicating that the lack of polarization calibration will lead to large errors in aerosol retrieval over an ocean.展开更多

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)and mechanoluminescent(ML)materials have been considered as two types of promising materials that have their own application fields.It would be amazing to endow one material with the adva...Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)and mechanoluminescent(ML)materials have been considered as two types of promising materials that have their own application fields.It would be amazing to endow one material with the advantages of ML and MOFs,thus broadening their applications.However,there are quite few investigations on this topic,and the ML mechanism in ML-MOFs remains unclear.In this study,we proposed a strategy for developing ML-MOFs by doping lanthanide ions into the non-centrosymmetric SBD([Sr(μ-BDC)(DMF)]∞)MOF,and successfully synthesized a series of lanthanide-doped MOFs Ln-SBD(Ln=Tb,Dy,Sm,Eu)and Tb1-xEux-SBD(x=0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8)with multicolor ML.The lanthanide ions were uniformly distributed in the matrix of the SBD-MOF,and occupied the Sr site.The MLMOFs exhibited intense multicolor ML emissions varying from green to yellow to red by changing the co-doping ratios and species of lanthanide ions.The similar ML and photoluminescence(PL)spectra indicated that the ML emission was assigned to the radiative transition from the excited states to the ground states of lanthanide ions.The radiative transition was induced by the electron bombardment process that originated from the piezoelectric effect of the non-centrosymmetric SBD host.In addition,a pioneering temperature sensing research based on ML was carried out,which is promising for realizing dual-functional detection of stress and temperature without excitation light sources.This study gives a unique insight for developing more versatile and interesting smart materials by combining the versatility of MOF with the ML emission,imparting additional values to both MOF and ML materials.Moreover,this study provides a general rule for selecting MOFs with an acentric structure as the host for ML materials.展开更多

文摘AIM: To investigate the association between GSTM1 and GSTT1 polymorphisms and the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in Chinese population. METHODS: Literature databases including PubMed, ISI web of science and other databases were searched.Pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% CI were calculated using random- or fixed-effects model. Subgroup analysis and sensitivity analysis were also performed. RESULTS: Nineteen studies of GSTM1 (2660 cases and 4017 controls) and 16 studies of GSTT1 (2410 cases and 3669 controls) were included. The GSTM1/GSTT1 null genotypes were associated with increased risk of HCC in Chinese population (for GSTM1, OR = 1.487, 95% CI: 1.159 to 1.908, P = 0.002; for GSTT1, OR = 1.510, 95% CI: 1.236 to 1.845, P = 0.000). No publication bias was detected. In subgroup analysis, glutathione S-transferases polymorphisms were significantly associated with HCC risk among the subjects living in high-incidence areas, but not among the subjects living in low-incidence areas. CONCLUSION: The present meta-analysis suggests that GSTM1/GSTT1 null genotypes are associated with increased risk of HCC in Chinese population.

文摘The paper deals with a new model of linear induction motor (LIM) to improve the reliability of the system. Based on the normal equation circuit of LIM considering the dynamic end effect, an equivalent circuit model with compensation of large end effect is constructed when the end effect force at synchronism is of braking character. The equivalent circuit model is used for secondary-flux oriented control of LIM. Single neuron network PI unit for LIM servo-drive is also discussed. The effectiveness of mathematical model for drive control is verified by simulations.

文摘AIM: To evaluate the effects of three potentially anti-inflammatory probiotic bacteria from three different genera on immune variables in setting based on previous in cytokine responses. healthy adults in a clinical vitro characterization of METHODS: A total of 62 volunteers participated in this randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled parallel group intervention study. The volunteers were randomized to receive a milk-based drink containing either Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG), Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis Bb12 (Bb12), or Propionibacterium freudenreichii ssp. shermanii JS (PJS) or a placebo drink for 3 wk. Venous blood and saliva samples were taken at baseline and on d 1, 7 and 21. Fecal samples were collected at baseline and at the end of intervention. RESULTS: The serum hsCRP expressed as the median AUC0-21 (minus baseline) was 0.018 mg/L in the placebo group, -0.240 mg/L in the LGG group, 0.090 mg/L in the Bb12 group and -0.085 mg/L in the PJS group (P = 0.014). In vitro production of TNF-α from in vitro cultured peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) was significantly lower in subjects receiving LGG vs placebo. IL-2 production from PBMC in the Bb12 group was significantly lower compared with the other groups. CONCLUSION: In conclusion, probiotic bacteria have strain-specific anti-inflammatory effects in healthy adults.
文摘Background Telehealth interventions (THI) were associated with lower levels of cardiovascular risk factors in adults, whereas the effect of THI on cardiovascular disease (CVD) still remains controversial. A meta-analysis was conducted to summarize the evidence from randomized controlled trials (RCT) which investigated potential impact of THI on the incidence of CVD in patients with or without prior CVD. Methods PubMed, EmBase, and the Cochrane Library were searched to identify RCTs to fit our analysis through December 2016. Relative risk (RR) with its 95% confidence interval (CI) was used to measure the effect of THI using a random-effect model. Sensitivity analysis, subgroup analysis, heterogeneity tests, and tests for publication bias were also conducted. Results Eight RCTs were included and with a total of 1635 individuals. The summarized results indicated that participants who received THI showed a significant reduction of the CVD incidence as compared with usual care (RR: 0.59; 95% CI: 0.47-0.74; P 〈 0.001). Furthermore, the effect of THI was greater in patients with history ofCVD (RR: 0.55; 95% CI: 0.44-0.70; P 〈 0.001) than in patients without history ofCVD (RR: 0.99; 95% CI: 0.51-1.94; P = 0.977). Sensitivity analysis suggested that the intervention effect persisted and the conclusion was not changed. Subgroup analysis indi- cated mean age, study quality might play an important role on the risk of CVD. Conclusions The findings of this study indicated THI could reduce the recurrence of CVD. Further large-scale trials are needed to verify the effect of THI on CVD in healthy individuals.
文摘Mergers & acquisitions (M&As) are important strategic instruments, yet nearly half of all transactions fail, often resulting in disastrous write-offs and losses for corporations and financing institutions alike - despite promising prospects upfront. Applied research has been trying to find a "panacea" to prevent or at least predict M&A failure, investigating motives, synergies and performance. Despite the growing unease with the stationary explanatory models in literature, research has only marginally focused on the concept of time, with inquiries into market timing and integration speed. Yet other timing concepts have been neglected in concepts so far despite early empirical evidence for their existence. The purpose of this paper is thus to identify and elaborate on the importance of further relevant theories of timing. For this, and true to the exploratory nature of the topic, the authors have chosen a qualitative comparative case study design based on existing case reports which are investigated for narrations highlighting timing concepts. This study reveals six factors which have a crucial impact on the M&A outcome: time of acquisition, M&A duration in its entirety, M&A sequence, synergy chronology, frequency of acquisitions and time to step back. It contributes to theory and practice in outlining the careful attention that needs to be paid in planning in these factors to enhance the chances of a successful M&A transaction.
文摘Objective: The purpose of the present study was to retrospectively and systematically evaluate the feasibility and safety of laparoscopic gastrectomy for gastric cancer. Methods: Research of prospective, randomized, controlled studies addressing laparoscopic gastrectomy versus open gastrectomy was screened through computer-based online system. Meta-analysis of acquired data was performed. The inverse variance method was used to test the significance of continuous data, while the ManteI-Haenszel method was used for dichotomous data. The chi-square test was used for evaluation of data heterogeneity. Homogenous data were calculated using the fixed effect model, and heterogeneous data were calculated using freedom model. Statistical data were expressed as 95% confidence interval (95% CI). Funnel plot was used for sensitivity analysis to show potential publication bias. Results: Five papers met the inclusion criteria, 164 cases underwent laparoscopic gastrectomy and 162 cases received open gastrectomy. Meta-analysis revealed that laparoscopic gastrectomy took longer operating time and removed fewer lymph nodes than open gastrectomy (both P 〈 0.01), but for early-stage gastric cancer, laparoscopic gastrectomy was superior to open gastrectomy in terms of blood loss and hospital stay (P 〈 0.01). But there were no significant differences in terms of time to resumption of oral intake, postoperative complications, postoperative morbidity rate, and tumor recurrence. Sensitive analysis demonstrated that publication bias existed in all indices to different extents with the exception of lymph node. Subgroup analysis showed that for D1 lymph node dissection, laparoscopic gastrectomy took significantly reduced blood loss than open gastrectomy. Conclusion: All these findings indicate that laparoscopic gastrectomy for early stage gastric cancer is feasible and safe.

文摘To study the antiviral effect of Hypericum perforatum L. extract (HPE) on influenza A virus (IAV) (H1N1) in vitro and in vivo. Cytopathic effect (CPE) and neutral red (NR) dye uptake were used to examine the antiviral effect of HPE on Madin Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cells which were infected with IAV in vitro HPE was effective against influenza A virus (IAV) in vitro, with a 50% effective concentration (EC50) of 40 ug/mL, The mean 50% cytotoxic concentration (CC50) in the MDCK used in these experiments was 1.5 mg/mL. Ribavirin was run in parallel with EC50 values of 5.0 ug/mL; the mean CC50 for ribavirin was 520 ug/mL. Oral gavage administrations of HPE or ribavirin to mice infected with the IAV were highly effective in preventing death, slowing the decline of arterial oxygen saturation, inhibiting lung consolidation and reducing lung virus titers. The minimum effective dose of HPE in these studies was 31.25 mg/kg/day, which was administered twice daily for 5 d beginning 4 h prior to virus exposure. Below a dosage of 2000 mg/kg/day, almost all treated mice survived, which suggests that HPE is of low toxicity. Ribavirin's minimum effective dose was 40 mg/kg/day with the LDso determined to be 200 mg/kg/day. Delay of the initiation of either HPE or ribavirin therapy, using approximately 1/3 LD50 dose each time, could still be protective as late as 48 h after exposure to the IAV. While both agents appeared to have similar efficacy against IAV infections, HPE was considered to be less toxic and may warrant further evaluation as a possible therapy for influenza.

文摘Optofluidics is the integration of optics and microfluidics(so-called lab on the chip). Wherein the actuation of liquid is a key technic. In a variety of methods for controlling microscale liquid, the light actuation is particularly interesting. The light actuation offers a novel way to control the flow of fluids for biomedical and biotechnological applications, etc.. The complexity and cost of devices sometimes may be greatly reduced by using complete optical control and may be more flexible in operation than other methods. However the light actuation of liquid is a burgeoning field as well as optofluidics. There is lots of work to do. Here we systematically describe four mechanisms for the light actuation of liquid based on the following points: optoelectrowetting, photothermal effect, radiation pressure, photosensitive substance.
文摘Objective: Stent placement is one of the main methods in the palliative treatment of malignant biliary obstruc- tion, including plastic and self-expandable metal stents. The comparison of stent patency between self-expandable metal and plastic stents in palliation of malignant biliary obstruction is meaningful. We carried out a meta-analysis to summarize current evidence for clinical efficacy of self-expandable metal and plastic stents in the treatment of malignant biliary obstruc- tion. Methods: A comprehensive search of several databases including CNKI, Wanfang Data, Sino MED. A fixed-effects or random-effects model was used to pool data of aU study endpoint. Sensitivity analysis was also performed. Results: Eight randomized clinical trials were identified, including 633 patients. These results suggested that the self-expandable metal stents were associated with a significantly longer stent patency (OR = 8.15; 95% CI: 2.80-23.76; 12 = 85%). No publication bias was observed. Conclusion: Self-expanding metal stents have a longer patency than plastic stents and offer adequate palliation in patients with malignant bUiary obstruction.
文摘Treatment of hepatitis C, even when absolutely necessary, is almost impossible when interferon cannot be administered for any reason. We report a 65-year-old patient with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and fibrosis, who was unable to receive interferon because of systemic hypersensitivity. The patient was desensitized successfully through gradual incremental exposure to interferon, and HCV infection was eradicated after a complete course of treatment, with no further allergic reactions. This case report that describes successful eradication of hepatitis C in a patient with advanced liver disease after desensitization to interferon revealed that desensitization may not necessarily damage the therapeutic efficacy of the drug.

文摘Nitric oxide(NO)emissions from alpine ecosystems conventionally being long-term cultivated with feed crops are not well quantified.The authors attempted to address this knowledge gap by performing a year-round experimental campaign in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau.Fertilized(F)and unfertilized(UF)treatments were established within a flat calcareous-soil site for the long-term cultivation of feed oats.NO fluxes and five soil variables were simultaneously measured.A single plow tillage accounted for approximately 54%–73%of the NO releases during the cropping period(CP);and the non-cropping period(NCP)contributed to 51%–58%of the annual emissions.The direct NO emissions factor(EFd)was 0.021%±0.021%.Significantly lower Q10 values(p<0.01)occurred in the F treatment during the CP(approximately 3.6)compared to those during the other period or in the other treatment(approximately 4.9?5.1),indicating a fertilizer-induced reduction in the temperature sensitivity.The selected soil variables jointly accounted for up to 72%(p<0.01)of the variance for all the fluxes across both treatments.This finding suggests that temporally and/or spatially distributed fluxes from alpine calcareous-soil ecosystems for feed crop production may be easily predicted if data on these soil variables are available.Further studies are needed to test the hypothesis that the EFd is larger in alpine feed-oat fields than those in this study if the soil moisture content is higher during the period following the basal application of ammoniumor urea-based fertilizer.

文摘The mesoscopic nonlinear inductance-capacitance circuit is a typical anharmonie oscillator, due to diodes included in the circuit. In this paper, using the advanced quantum theory of mesoseopie circuits, which based on the fundamental fact that the electric charge takes discrete value, the diode included mesoscopic circuit is firstly studied. Schrodinger equation of the system is a four-order difference equation in p rep asentation. Using the extended perturbative method, the detail energy spectrum and wave functions axe obtained and verified, as an application of the results, the current quantum fluctuation in the ground state is calculated. Diode is a basis component in a circuit, its quantization would popularize the quantum theory of mesoscopie circuits. The methods to solve the high order difference equation are helpful to the application of mesoscopic quantum theory.

文摘High-resolution flexible electronic devices are widely used in the fields of soft robotics,smart human-machine interaction,and intelligent e-healthcare monitoring due to their mechanical flexibility,ductility,and compactness.The electrohydrodynamic jet printing(e-jet printing)technique is used for constructing high-resolution and cross-scale flexible electronic devices such as field-effect transistors(FETs),flexible sensors,and flexible displays.As a result,researchers are paying close attention to e-jet printing flexible electronic devices.In this review,we focused on the latest advancements in high-resolution flexible electronics made by e-jet printing technology,including various materials used in e-jet printing inks,the process control of e-jet printing,and their applications.First,we summarized various functional ink materials available for e-jet printing,including organic,inorganic,and hybrid materials.Then,the interface controlling the progress of e-jet printing was discussed in detail,including the physical and chemical properties of the functional ink,the interfacial wettability between the ink and substrate,and the microdroplet injection behavior in a high-voltage field.Additionally,various applications of e-jet printing in the fields of flexible electrodes,FETs,flexible sensors,and flexible displays were demonstrated.Finally,the future problems and potential associated with the development of next generation e-jet printing technology for flexible electronic devices were also presented.
文摘This study aimed to analyze the clinical efficacy and safety of itraconazole. We investigated 68 patients with invasive fungal infections(IFI) in emergency intensive care unit(EICU). A retrospective analysis was performed in patients with IFI who were treated in the authors' institution, a grade III first class hospital in Beijing, China, between Feb. 2013 and Feb. 2015. The age of patients ranged from 35 to 90 years old with the mean age of(75.1±11.1) years old. The study population comprised 36 male and 32 female patients. Total response rate was 60.3%. The response rates in definitive diagnosis, clinical diagnosis and presumed diagnosis were 33.3%, 59.5% and 65.2%, respectively(P〈0.05). The empirical treatment should be provided for patients with presumed diagnosis as earlier as possible. Eleven(16.2%) cases had adverse drug event(ADE) during treatment. The main signs were hepatic functional impairment and hypokalemia of ADE. The clinical efficacy and safety of intravenous itraconazole were precisely assessed. To reduce the adverse drug reaction(ADR), hepatic and renal function and other biochemical criterion should be closely monitored.

文摘Reflectance measurements of both the visible and infrared bands of passive remote sensing sensors are widely used to retrieve aerosol optical depth(AOD) information. This is performed commonly for data obtained over both ocean and land, and these measurements allow for the off line development of a lookup table using radiative transfer models. Owing to molecular and aerosol effects, the reflected light received by the sensor is usually highly polarized. The linear polarization effect may be up to 100%, and the polarization factor of a sensor optical system will change the total intensity as well as the polarization status of the signal reaching the detector. The detector response will be different when the incident light polarization status changes, even if the total intensity remains constant. However, if the polarization calibration is neglected, it will cause obvious errors in the aerosol data retrieval. This is especially true for aerosol optical depth retrieval over an ocean. This measurement relies directly on the reflectance output of the sensor. Cases involving land surfaces are not discussed herein because the inhomogeneous properties conceal the error due to polarization. Taking the 550 and 860 nm bands as examples, the difference between the real top-of-atmosphere(TOA) reflectance and the reflectance reaching the detector is calculated using three different sensor polarization standards according to the Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor(Sea Wi FS) and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS) standards. The differences in AOD retrieval are also demonstrated using the lookup table developed previously from a vector radiative transfer code. The results reveal that under a normal situation in which the AOD is 0.15, the maximum AOD retrieval error could reach 0.04 in 550 nm but only 0.02 in 860 nm for the dust aerosol model. For the soot aerosol model, the maximum AOD retrieval error is 0.1 in 550 nm and 0.12 in 860 nm, indicating that the lack of polarization calibration will lead to large errors in aerosol retrieval over an ocean.

文摘Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)and mechanoluminescent(ML)materials have been considered as two types of promising materials that have their own application fields.It would be amazing to endow one material with the advantages of ML and MOFs,thus broadening their applications.However,there are quite few investigations on this topic,and the ML mechanism in ML-MOFs remains unclear.In this study,we proposed a strategy for developing ML-MOFs by doping lanthanide ions into the non-centrosymmetric SBD([Sr(μ-BDC)(DMF)]∞)MOF,and successfully synthesized a series of lanthanide-doped MOFs Ln-SBD(Ln=Tb,Dy,Sm,Eu)and Tb1-xEux-SBD(x=0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8)with multicolor ML.The lanthanide ions were uniformly distributed in the matrix of the SBD-MOF,and occupied the Sr site.The MLMOFs exhibited intense multicolor ML emissions varying from green to yellow to red by changing the co-doping ratios and species of lanthanide ions.The similar ML and photoluminescence(PL)spectra indicated that the ML emission was assigned to the radiative transition from the excited states to the ground states of lanthanide ions.The radiative transition was induced by the electron bombardment process that originated from the piezoelectric effect of the non-centrosymmetric SBD host.In addition,a pioneering temperature sensing research based on ML was carried out,which is promising for realizing dual-functional detection of stress and temperature without excitation light sources.This study gives a unique insight for developing more versatile and interesting smart materials by combining the versatility of MOF with the ML emission,imparting additional values to both MOF and ML materials.Moreover,this study provides a general rule for selecting MOFs with an acentric structure as the host for ML materials.
