Therefore, the application of SAFT is usually limited. In this paper, we propose an improved SAFT technique for the detection of concrete based on the pulse compression technique used in the Radar domain. The proposed method first transmits a linear frequency modulation (LFM) signal, and then compresses the echo signal using the matched filtering method, after which a compressed signal with a narrower main lobe and higher SNR is obtained. With our improved SAFT, the compressed signals are manipulated in the imaging process and the image contrast is improved. Results show that the SNR is improved and the imaging resolution is guaranteed compared with the conventional short-pulse method. From theoretical and experimental results, we show that the proposed method can suppress noise and improve imaging contrast, and can also be used to detect multiple defects in concrete.展开更多

The principle of the multiple radars signal fusion improving the range resolution is analyzed. With the analysis of return signals received by two radars,it is derived that the phase difference between the echoes varies almost linearly with respect to the frequency if the distance between two radars is neg-ligible compared with the radar observation distance. To compensate the phase difference,an en-tropy-minimization principle based compensation algorithm is proposed. During the fusion process, the B-splines interpolation method is applied to resample the signals for Fourier transform imaging. The theoretical analysis and simulations results show the proposed method can effectively increase signal bandwidth and provide a high resolution range profile.展开更多

This method can efficiently filter out the compact desired chirp signal, with a consequence that the cyclically uncorrelated interferences and stationary (colored) Gaussian noise are greatly suppressed in the Opt- FrFT domain. This improves the MSE minimization cyclic beamformer by reducing effectively the Opt-FrFY domain signal-noise cross terms in the presence of finite data length de-correlation operation. Simulation results show that the new method works well under a wide range of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and signal-to-interference ratio (SIR).展开更多

Both linear chirp signals and combined chirp signals are used in this system to reduce the effect of the cross correlation, and simplify the complexity of the system. The optimal scheme of de- signing both linear chirp signals and combined chirp signals is discussed to minimize the value of the cross correlation and obtain a better system performance. Simulation results show that, compared with the binary orthogonal chirp modulation technique, the M-ary chirp modulation technique based on an optimal chirp signal set has a higher data rate with a reasonable bit-error rate (BER) perform- ance under both additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) channel and indoor wireless channel.展开更多

The STFT is applied only on the signals in the cross-interference intervals in the four polarimetric channels to decrease the computation complexity. A mask matrix for suppressing the interference is constructed using the constant false alarm ratio (CFAR) detection on the spectrograms by the STFY.
