According to the construction characteristic of RCC dam cast by layers, three-dimensional finite element relocating mesh method is developed to simulate construction process and compute temperature field. The computation model of relocating mesh method is expatiated in detail; based on the thermodynamic properties of RCC materials, the feasibility and error of relocating mesh method are analyzed and demonstrated; The computation results in this article are verified by means of the temperature observation data of certain RCC gravity dam. The results show that the temperature field computed by three-dimensional finite element relocating mesh method can not only ensure the computation precision, but also improve the calculation efficiency greatly. This provides an effective method for simulating construction process and computing temperature field of RCC dam. 展开更多

Confinement is an effective method in order to increase concrete strength and its ductility capacity. To improve the structural properties of lightweight concrete, Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) can be used to confine the concrete. Effect of Fiber Reinforced Polymer on confined lightweight concrete elements is one of the most important research fields. It is generally accepted that the strength and stiffness of confined concrete is higher than unconfined one. In this research, behavior of confined and unconfined concrete specimens under uniaxial loading has been studied. In order to decrease stress concentration corners of specimens were chamfered to a radius of 5 to 25 mm. The Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) and Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) were used to confine lightweight concrete specimens. The stress-strain curve of specimens is compared. 展开更多

The mechanical properties of recycled aggregates concrete from demolition have been studied for several years. It has been documented that rheological properties of these concrete are generally affected by use of recycled aggregates. They could present mechanical properties less affected by the presence of recycled aggregates if the initial concrete were of good quality. However, manufacturing problems, mainly attributed to the angular character of these aggregates and to the granulometry of recycled sand, limit their industrial use. The worth point of this study consists in the optimization of the concrete formulation using specific admixture, adapted to this aggregates in order to facilitate its manufacturing. It shows that the new generation of superplasticizers containing some copolymer polycarboxylate makes it possible to significantly improve the fluidity of the recycled aggregates concrete in its fresh state. The aim of this research is to control rheologica] properties of fresh recycled aggregates concrete with fine and coarse recycled aggregates to limit the negative influence of aggregates on mechanical properties of concrete. 展开更多

To prevent expanded polystyrene (EPS) beads from rising up to the surface in the molding process of EPS lightweight concrete, vibration with pressure was applied and the polyvinyl acetate (PVA) emulsion was adopted to improve its mechanical properties. The mechanical properties, thermal properties and durability of EPS lightweight concrete were tested. The microstruetures of EPS lightweight concrete were observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Vibration with pressure reduces the number of small cracks. The 180 d compressive strength and flexural strength increase obviously as a large amount of PVA was added. The mixed amount of PVA has no obvious influence on the thermal performance when it is not more than 10% of the cement. Vibration with pressure and surface modification of EPS beads by PVA improve the combination of EPS beads with cement stone and the mechanical properties of EPS lightweight concrete. 展开更多

The quality problem of the concrete body and backwall grouting of shaft lining must be taken into consideration during the engineering construction of the shaft. Detection and evaluation are needed to determine the parameters such as the location and depth of drilling. The record of elastic wave can be gained through laying the surveying lines of the ring and ver- tical direction in the shaft lining by the elastic wave method. And specifically, through analyzing the different parameters of seismic attribute such as the velocity of high frequency reflection wave, amplitude and frequency, the abnormal range on the wall or under the wall can be forecasted. The concrete quality of shallow layer in the shaft lining can be evaluated through the velocity of surfer wave. Using the evaluating technique of comprehensive frequency and the phase feature of waveform, the basic features such as inner construction, wall back filling and failure depth of shaft lining can be interpreted from qualitatively to half quantitatively, and the interpreting section can be drawn. The results show that the detection effect for the shaft quality is significant by elastic wave technique, and the delineation of abnormal areas is accurate. The thermophysical properties,such as thermal conductivity,thermal diffusivity,specific heat capacity and linear thermal expansion of reactive powder concrete(RPC) with different steel fiber volumetric fractions are investigated by means of high temperature tests. The thermophysical characteristics of RPC with different fiber volumes under different temperatures are analyzed and compared with those of the common high-strength concrete and high-performance concrete. The empirical relationships of thermophysical properties with temperature and fiber volume are identified. By the heat transfer and solid physics methods,the microscopic physical mechanism of heat transfer process and heat conduction properties of RPC are investigated,and the theoretical formulas of specific heat capacity and thermal expansion coefficient are derived,respectively. The effects of temperature and steel fibers on the specific heat capacity and the thermal expansion coefficient are quantitatively analyzed and the discriminant conditions are provided. It is shown that the experimental results are consistent with the theoretical prediction. 展开更多
