One-and two dimensional SDS-PAGE an...Estrus-associated glycoprotein (EGP) is a special protein in oviductal fluid which appears before ovulation and fertilization and disappears after the embryo passes into the uterus. One-and two dimensional SDS-PAGE and Western blotting with monoclonal antibody or peanut agglutinin were used to characterize the glycoprotein,The specificity of the marking agents enabled the study to proceed without purification. EGP was found to include two proteins: one is acidic with a pH of 4.5 while the other is basic with a pH of 8.0 The molecular weights of their subunits are the same, that is 110 kD. This study may shed light on the mechanism of reproductive Process and be helpful to the development of a more cffective culture medium for in vitro culture of early embryo.展开更多
Purpose:The aim of this research was to explore the benefits of mindfulness-based psychological care(MBPC)and assess whether the intervention would be beneficial in reducing insomnia and emotional symptoms of leukemia...Purpose:The aim of this research was to explore the benefits of mindfulness-based psychological care(MBPC)and assess whether the intervention would be beneficial in reducing insomnia and emotional symptoms of leukemia patients receiving chemotherapy.Methods:A randomized control design study was applied in two hematology departments in a hospital in Zhengzhou.Patients in the experimental group received mindfulness-based psychological care(MBPC),and those in the control group received conventional care.Anxiety,depression,and sleeping problems were measured using the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale,Self-Rating Depression Scale,and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index.Results:Statistically significant differences were observed among anxiety,depression,and sleeping problems between the two groups in the post-test(P<0.05).A significant decrease in anxiety and depression and an improvement in sleep were observed between pre-and post-interventions(P<0.05)in the experimental group.Conclusions:MBPC significantly improved sleep quality and mood of the experimental group.It is an effective complementary therapy for leukemia treatment that is inexpensive,noninvasive,and associated with relaxation and pain reduction.展开更多

Drawing on interview data from a larger...The ethical project of education hinges on the ideal of caring relations between teachers and students, an ideal that entails deep emotional commitments on the part of teachers. Drawing on interview data from a larger study of teachers’ lived experiences in Singapore’s secondary schools,this paper examines the cultural politics of caring as an emotional practice in teaching. The ethic of care serves to construct normative accounts of good teaching based on "feeling rules," and becomes a disciplinary technology for evaluating the professional, social and emotional competencies of teachers. I suggest that this project in turn entails an ideological effort to mobilize teachers’ emotional attachment to this ethical ideal. The ethic of care shapes the subjectivities, beliefs, and practices of English teachers, particularly as they circulate through the neoliberal imperatives of educational accountability regimes.展开更多
