In order to study the application effect of microbial fertilizer and compound fertilizer mixed application on microirrigation apple, three types of fertilizers were applied in spring which were urea(CK, 15 kg/plant), microbial fertilizer(5.0 kg/plant),microbial fertilizer and compound fertilizer mixed(each 2.5 kg/plant) to study the effect of different fertilizer treatments on yield, fruit quality, flowering and fruit setting of Xinshijie apple. The results showed that application of microbial fertilizer could increase the yield, fruit weight and fruit shape index, significantly increase the flowering rates and inflorescence fruit setting rate of following year, while reduce the fruit hardness and soluble solids content, and the effect of microbial fertilizer and compound fertilizer mixed application on increasing fruit weight and yield was higher than that of microbial fertilizer separate application, the effect of the two was not obvious in other aspects. Therefore, microbial fertilizer could be used instead of some chemical fertilizer and organic fertilizer in apple production to reach the aim of increasing yield and efficiency, and the effect of microbial fertilizer and compound fertilizer mixed application was best. 展开更多

[Objectivc] This study aimed to investigate the chilling tolerance of seedlings of different cotton genotypes and screen appropriate indicators for assess- ing chilling tolerance, to establish reliable mathematical evaluation model for chilling tolerance of cotton, thus providing theoretical basis for breeding and promoting new chilling-tolerant cotton germplasms and large-scale evaluation of chilling tolerance of cotton varieties. [Method] Fifteen cotton varieties (lines) were used as experimental materials. The photosynthetic gas exchange parameters, chlorophyll fluorescence ki- netic parameters, chlorophyll content, relative soluble sugar content, malonaldehyde content, relative proiine content, relative conductivity and other 12 physiological indi- cators of seedling leaves under low temperature treatment (5 ℃, 12 h) and recovery treatment (25 ℃. 24 h) were determined; based on the chilling tolerance coefficient (CTC) of various individual indicators, the comprehensive evaluation of chilling toler- ance was conducled by using principal component analysis, hierarchical cluster anal- ysis and stepwise regression analysis. [Result] The results showed that the 12 indi- vidual physiological indicators could be classified into 7 independent comprehensive components by principal component analysis; 15 cotton varieties (lines) were clus- tered into three categories by using membership function method and hierarchical cluster analysis; the mathematical model for evaluating chilling tolerance of cotton seedlings was established: D =0.275 -0.244Fo1 +0.206Fv/Fm1+0.326g,%-0.056SS + 0.225MDA+O.O38REC (FF=0.995), and the evaluation accuracy of the equation was higher than 94.25%,0. Six identification indicators closely related to chilling tolerance were screened, including Fo,, Fv/Fm1, Seedling leaves of cotton varieties (lines) gs2, SS, MDA, and REC. [Conclusion] with high chilling tolerance are less dam- aged under low temperature stress, and are able to maintain relatively high photo- synthetic electron transport capacity and high stomatal conductance after recovery treatment, which is contributed to gas exchange and recovery of photosynthetic ca- pacity. Determination of the six indicators under the same stress condition can be adopted for rapid identification and prediction of the chilling tolerance of other cotton varieties, which provides basis for the breeding, promotion, identification and screen- ing of chilling tolerant germplasms. 展开更多

To improve the fault detection power of the partial least square (PLS) method for quality control, a new QRPV statistic is proposed in terms of the VP (variable importance in projection) indices of monitored process variables, which is significantly advanced over and different from the conventional Q statistic. QRPV is calculated only by the residuals of the remarkable process variables (RPVs). Therefore, it is the dominant relation between quality and RPV not all process variables (as in the case of the conventional PLS) that is monitored by this new VP-PLS (VPLS) method. The combination of QRPV and T2 statistics is applied to the quality and cost control of the Tennessee Eastman (TE) process, and weak faults can be detected as quickly as possible. Consequently, the product quality of TE process is guaranteed and operation costs are reduced. 展开更多

Batch processes are usually involved with multiple phases in the time domain and many researches on process monitoring as well as quality prediction have been done using phase information. However, few of them consider phase transitions, though they exit widely in batch processes and have non-ignorable impacts on product qualities. In the present work, a phase-based partial least squares (PLS) method utilizing transition information is proposed to give both online and offline quality predictions. First, batch processes are divided into several phases using regression parameters other than prior process knowledge. Then both steady phases and transitions which have great influences on qualities are identified as critical-to-quality phases using statistical methods. Finally, based on the analysis of different characteristics of transitions and steady phases, an integrated algorithm is developed for quality prediction. The application to an injection molding process shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in comparison with the traditional MPLS method and the phase-based PLS method. 展开更多

Synthetic dyes are commonly used for graphite depression in poly-metallic flotation circuits; however,these dyes can be very expensive. The aim of this study is to evaluate performance of certain low-cost alternative depressants for a complex lead-zinc(Pb-Zn) ore rich in graphite(Gr-C) on a conventional mini pilot-scale flotation circuit. The reagents used were commercial and industrial grade starch; agro-based waste-sugarcane bagasse and charred(burnt) bagasse powder. The primary evaluation criteria were quality(grades) of lead and zinc concentrates, their recoveries(%), and graphite rejection(%) in the tails.Benchmark tests using nigrosine as graphite depressant showed 94.3% rejection of Gr-C. The results with commercial starch were found as effective with 93.8% graphite rejection. Furthermore, bagasse powder showed potential in improving product quality(36.4% and 65.6% Pb grade and recovery) with an intermediate effectiveness in graphite rejection(85.6%). The order of effectiveness in Gr-C rejection follows nigrosine % commercial starch > bagasse > industrial starch > charred bagasse. In addition, the effect these depressants on silver(byproduct) grade and recovery was also investigated. 展开更多

In terms of tandem cold mill productivity and product quality, a multi-objective optimization model of rolling schedule based on cost fimction was proposed to determine the stand reductions, inter-stand tensions and rolling speeds for a specified product. The proposed schedule optimization model consists of several single cost fi.mctions, which take rolling force, motor power, inter-stand tension and stand reduction into consideration. The cost function, which can evaluate how far the rolling parameters are from the ideal values, was minimized using the Nelder-Mead simplex method. The proposed rolling schedule optimization method has been applied successfully to the 5-stand tandem cold mill in Tangsteel, and the results from a case study show that the proposed method is superior to those based on empirical formulae. 展开更多

This paper attempts to identify the loss of quality of craftsmanship intensive products. It shows that errors in production process and degradation in the jewellery pro duct quality in the (complex) transition from hand crafted silver model making to mass production are largely due to the ignorance of the importance of design——craftsmanship in production process. In fact, the design can be employed to solve the problems of the quality degradation or even as a tool to prevent error in the stages of product design, development and production. In testing this hypo thesis, production processes (from designing, model making, casting, polishing, buffing to texturing) are all examined in order to identify the root causes of product quality degradation in mass production. After the analysis, the concept of “integrated craftsmanship” is proposed to assist integration of traditional goldsmith′s and je wellery designers′ techniques in jewellery designing and making, and to change the attitudes to quality control in mass production systems. Finally, the model of “integra ted design craftsmanship” as a comprehensive design conceptual and quality organizational tool is formulated for managing and improving product quality. 展开更多

[Method] The influence of four dosages of SSA on late rice seedling quality and yield was investi- gated, using Oryza sativa cv. Yongyou 9 and Huanghuazhan as test materials. [Re- sult] The results showed that applying SSA significantly increased several indexes of seedling quality including the leaf age, basal stem width and dry matter weight. In addition, SSA greatly increased the rice yield, mainly through influencing two yield component factors, effective panicle number and grain number per panicle. [Conclu- sion] SSA was beneficial to nurse strong seedling which satisfied mechanical trans- plant and improve yield. Considered both seedling quality and yield trait, the optimal SSA dosage is 50 g/m2 under this cultivating condition. 展开更多

To get the IR spectrums of Agrimonia Pilosa Ledeb (APL) from China and Japan areas, and to fend out the characters of IR spectrums through the content of different chemical constituents, to provide a fast and effective analysis method monitor the inherent qualities of traditional Chinese medicine-APL. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) was applied to detect sample of APL from Ofina and Japan areas. This study showed that the IR spectra of APL from China and Japan areas have their unique IR fingerprint features. The contents of tannin and calcitum phosphate in APL from China is different APL from Japan. So FF-IR is a very quick, effective and well repetitive method for monitoring and distinguishing the traditional Chinese medicine. 展开更多

The optimized quantity of 2,6-pyridine dimethyl acid is 10 mmol and methanol is 25 mmol. The yield is up to 95%-96% when using 2 mL 30% sulfuric acid. Nevertheless, the gradual decontrol of market and the storage requirement under low oil price, crude oil imports hit a record high of 335.5 million tons, with the growth rate approximating 9%. Refined oil exports soared and imports decreased, which made China become a net refined oil exporter for the first time for 24 years, and net imports reached 6.22 million tons. Robust requirement on chemical raw materials propelled imported liquefied petroleum gas market to go on expanding. Imports exceeded 12 ,zillion tons in 2015, thus China leaped into the world's largest liquefied petroleum gas importer. In 2016, oil consumption growth would be kept at lower level. However, China would further decontrol crude oil import and refined oil export permits and put incremental storage capacity, into use. Therefore, crude oil imports would continue to rise up, and refined oil exports may hit a new historic high. hnported liquefied petroleum gas market will enter into a stage of stable growth after two years rapid development. 展开更多

Value Management (VM) is a rigorous and systematic approach to improve the value and optimise the overall cost of a facility. It identifies opportunities to remove unnecessary costs while assuring that quality, reliability, performance, and other critical factors will meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. It has been widely used in the construction industry in a number of countries. A recent survey, however, revealed several problems that hinder the wider use of this methodology in the industry. To overcome these problems, a feasibility study has been conducted to investigate whether or not a Group Support System (GSS) can support collaborative works in VM workshops. This paper introduces the development and structure of a prototype GSS which is designed to support the collaborative works of stakeholders in VM workshops. It begins with an introduction to the conceptual GSS framework and job plan, illustrating what GSS supports can be provided to VM workshops. This is followed by a detailed description of the GSS prototype system to demonstrate how these supports can be performed as an integrated computer system. The testing of the system is also discussed. The research findings provide strong evidence in supporting the notion of using GSS to improve VM implementation. The information support of GSS has been ranked to be the most useful GSS functions and most of the practitioners interviewed are highly interested in applying GSS to support VM workshops in the future. 展开更多

Injection molding is a complicated production technique for the manufacturing of polymer products. During injection molding, it's hard to predict molding quality; the injection molding parameters, such as mold temperature, melt temperature, packing pressure and packing time, affect the final properties of product. The cavity pressure is a significant key factor. Residual stress and injection molding weight are significantly affected by the cavity pressure. This study created an approach to predict weight of injection-molded by real-time online cavity pressure monitoring. This study uses a 6-inch with thickness lmm light guide panel and the largest area beneath the pressure curve of time as well as the maximum pressure as its characteristic. The upper and lower limits of the control are set to +2 standard deviations, and GUI (Graphical User Interface)-based LabVIEW software is used to perform calculation and analysis of the pressure curve. The results of the experiment show that the online internal cavity pressure monitoring system can effectively monitor the quality of the molded products. In 500 injection molding cycle tests, its error rate was less than 8%, whereas the deviation in mass of the molded products selected through the system's filtering process was successfully controlled to be within ±4%. 展开更多

In this research, the response of two Kenyan sweet potato varieties, KEMB 36 and Tainurey, cultured on a low cost tissue culture medium was evaluated. The low cost medium contained plant nutrients that were obtained from locally available fertilizers. Each conventional Murashige and Skoog (MS) macronutrient was individually substituted with a locally available fertilizer. The conventional source of micronutrients was substituted with Stanes~ Iodized Microfood while sucrose was obtained from table sugar. Performance of the two cultivars was monitored over a period of six weeks. KEMB 36 had a better performance than Tainurey with an average of eight nodes, seven leaves, three roots and height of four centimeters per plantlet indicating genotype-dependent response. 展开更多

Thousand Seed Weight (TSW) is one of the major yield components of rapeseed (Brassica napus L.). Here reports an extra-large seed germplasm GM01 which was obtained through isolated microspore culture. Three-way cross was made: H8--a Yunnan spring early-maturing rapeseed variety, "Legeney"--a Canadian canola variety and "020010"--a semi-winter late-maturing rapeseed variety. One hundred and forty eight doubled hyploid lines were obtained from the F~ plants of three-way cross through isolated mierospore culture. Among them, the TSW of GM01 amounted to 8.68 g and the TSW of 53 lines were above 5.0 g. The TSWs of GM01 were relatively stable among the multi-location field trials from 2007 to 2014 with variation being only 10%-15% among the locations and years. Compared with H8, GM01 had larger flowers, stigmas, siliques and seed diameters, but less branches, siliques per plant and seeds per silique. 展开更多

The field experiment with four cultivars of red clover were established on soil having a pH (in H2O) of 4.8, in order to in conditions of dense planting (20 cm inter row) analyzes the effect of foliar application of phosphorus and potassium (PK) on yield and yield components (number of stems/m2, number of inflorescences/m2, number of inflorescences/stem, number of flowers/inflorescence, number of seeds/inflorescence and one thousand grain weight). Regardless of foliar treatment with PK, varieties differed in the number of inflorescences/m2, number of flowers/inflorescence, number of seeds/inflorescence and seed yield. Foliar application of PK in the phase of intensive growth of red clover had a positive impact on number of stem/m2, number of inflorescences/m2 and seed yield in all varieties, as well as on the number of flowers/inflorescence, number of seeds/inflorescence in cultivar Viola. 展开更多

The consequences of self-fertilization are important factors determining the germplasm management in such species with levels of heterogeneity and heterozygsity. Effects of self-fertilization on floral, yield and yield components characters were evaluated by comparing two levels of selfing, produced in bee-proof cages, in open-pollination at two locations in Sudan. Selfing process results in no significant differences in yield and yield components within each cultivar. Autofertile lines with reduced partial dependence on insects for seed set could be produced. Spatial isolation should be used to maintain the genetic purity of such lines. An alternate strategy for entries multiplication should focus on increasing heterozygosity and the maintenance of cross-fertilization inside the entries to prevent contamination with foreign pollens. Our results follow the previous knowledge on faba bean genetic resources conservation and management. 展开更多
