基于微课的成语教学策略分析

在信息时代,在线网络学习模式已经趋向于主流教学模式发展.微课程作为现代化的一种有效教学手段,在小学语文教学中可以起到调动教学氛围的效果,使教学能够与时俱进.在成语教学中引入微课程,能够使成语教学更加生动形象,改变传统的涂鸦教学模式.基于此,文章分析了基于微课程的小学语文成语教学策略,希望能够实现小学生语文综合素养的提升.

新加坡中小学华文教材中的成语调研与分析

成语是汉语词汇中一颗璀璨的明珠,在汉语教材中编选成语是发挥其词汇功能和文化传播功能的重要途径。调研结果表明:存在成语编选数量较少、成语分布位置过于集中和成语的复现率整体偏低等问题。为此,建议在教材改进方面政府、相关专家和学校三方联动,在成语教学方面教师发挥才智创新成语教学方法,在成语学习方面学生要自主少量多次地复习已学成语,以期促进新加坡中小学教材中成语编选,提升成语教学质量。

On Formative Assessment in College English Teaching

Teaching assessment plays a very important part in college English teaching, and effective formative assessment can encourage students＇ learner autonomy, improve their ability, and stimulate their creativity as well. Based on the foreign and domestic studies, this paper first reviews the definition and types of assessment, and then analyses the factors which influence the application of formative assessment in the process of college English teaching.

The application of formative assessment in college oral English teaching

Teaching assessment is one of the most important components of college English teaching. The traditional assessment system over emphasizes the summative assessment, which used examinations as the main assessment method. Formative assessment focuses on the process assessment during the practice of teaching. It is integrated in the teaching and learning process and cannot be separated as evaluation. The formative assessment aims to confirm the students＇ potential, develop their ability in study and strengthen the students＇ confidence and the spirit of cooperation. It is also a method intended to generate feedback on performance to improve and accelerate teaching and learning effectively. Based on some theories, this paper states the importance of the application of formative assessment in college oral English teaching. It also introduces some principles and measures to apply this assessment. The reasonable and effective application can promote college oral English teaching.

Current investigation and analysis of formative assessment in college oral English teaching

This article investigates and analyzes the current circumstances of formative assessment in college oral English teaching. The result shows： （1） students still have some difficulties in the process of oral English formative assessment; （2） students are not accessible to abundant formative assessment approaches; （3） teachers play an unsatisfactory role in the process of oral English formative assessment. Finally, this article offers some advice on figuring out the problems above.

On the Causes of Negative Impact of CET-4

As one of the world well-known high-stakes tests, CET-4 （College English Test Band 4） changed from being generally accepted to being widely questioned in the past 25 years. In spite of a series of reforms of CET-4, the negative impact of CET-4 remains intense. Three main reasons are probed into here. Firstly, the objective of CET-4 is ambiguous. Secondly, the test objective does not accord with teaching objective. Finally, test contents do not match well with the practical language use. To improve the present passive state of CET-4, some suggestions are given.

Analysis of the application of a happy leaming method in college English classroom teaching

Emotional teaching is an important part of language teaching. In the teaching activities, teachers should exploit and make full use of students＇ emotional factors to arouse their learning interest and motivation and therefore to improve students＇ English level. The author proposes a teaching concept of happy learning method in college English classroom teaching according to their own teaching practice, the concrete implementation measures of happy learning method include： encourage students to take the group cooperative learning method, establish good emotional communication relations between teachers and encourage students to correct each other by inquiry discussion and so on.

The Influence of English Movies on English Listening Teaching in College

Listening, in language teaching, is a skill that requires active engagement. To help their students become effective listeners becomes one of the great challenging tasks for the language teachers. In the Chinese contexts, this challenge is greater for college English teachers, for listening skills, an important part of communication skills, have not been given as much attention as reading or writing skills in teaching non-English majors, especially a decade ago. This paper introduces English movies on English listening teaching in college, and puts forward some application strategies of English movies in English listening teaching.

Materials Development for Adult Learners in Teaching Vocabulary

Considering the special needs and the learning styles of their learners, foreign language teachers should use the most effective methods or approaches which are appropriate for their teaching strategies. Redundant or a diverse range of teaching techniques are not meant to use in the process of their learners＇ acquiring new vocabulary items; instead, the most effective and to the point teaching techniques in terms of each language skill should be employed. Efficiency of language learners in terms of their command of the vocabulary can be assessed through their understanding any reading or listening context and managing to be productive in speaking or writing procedures in language acquisition process. Phonological, morpho-syntactic, or socio-pragmatic positions of new lexical items as well as the learners＇ learning styles and multiple intelligences should all be taken into consideration by language teachers so that their learners could really reach an efficient level of vocabulary power. This efficiency has been identified as having a language passport in terms of the proficiency level of the learners within the CEFR （Common European Framework of Reference） for Languages by all EU countries in recent years. Foreign language teachers should try very hard to supply their learners with the required qualifications in every language skill so that they can have a linguistic identity both in their own societies and inter-cultural or multi-cultural contexts. Within this framework, foreign language teachers will hopefully make use of any suggested approach presented in this study so as to widen their learners＇ horizons in language acquisition process.

An Empirical Study on the Effectiveness of Language Learning Strategy Training for Chinese Adult English Learners

This paper explores how to implement effective strategy training for part-time Chinese adult English learners in a tertiary FLT （Foreign Language Teaching） classroom. Through a study of threx~ semesters during which six sessions of learner training workshops and constant, integrated task-based instruction were carried out, empirical evidence was collected via the instrument of questionnaires, interviews, learners＇ regular written reports, and the findings indicate that： （1） The students reported a statistically significant increase of the overaU average frequency of language strategy use over all SILL （The Strategy Inventory for Language Learning） items with 2.95 at the beginning and 3.61 at the end; and （2） Well-organized, explicit, and discrete leaner training workshops combined with frequent, explicit, and integrated task-based strategy instruction are an effective and helpful way to improve learners＇ awareness, selection, and frequency of strategy use, which can further foster learner autonomy.

A Case Study of Oral English Teaching for College EFL Learners in China： Problems and Implications

Oral English teaching is not only an integral part of college English language teaching but also a crucial factor related to whether the language teaching goals can be achieved or not. This research has investigated the current situations and existing problems concerning oral English teaching on the basis of a case study of the authentic oral English classroom teaching at a city college in China. The findings and solutions may provide some implications for oral English language teaching at the college level in China.

Present Situation and its Causes of College English Learning and Practice Environment in China

The use of Flipped classroom in adult English education

flipped classroom as a new form of teaching, has became popular worldwide. ＂Flipped classroom＂ , from Salman Khan, is an occasional teaching method, after Khan and others＇ promotion and testing for the significance of today＇ s flipped classroom. Compared with the traditional teaching, it has broken through the traditional classroom limitation, reconstruction teaching structure reflects the advantages of the new teaching ideas. On this basis, the article also rose that in flipped classroom teachers should pay attention to the role of teachers, they need information technology support, cause changes in teaching evaluation and promote the integration of high-quality teaching resources sharing and other aspects. The adult of non-English majors generally have poor English skills, but because of different age, memory, social experience, taking what teaching methods, and doing what teaching activities to achieve the teaching content and the expected effects of prescribed syllabus is an important issue in front of us, the author in view of the current situation, uses the existing conditions, and takes the teaching methods to help adult students improve their English communication skills, to meet the needs of the 21st century.

Both of these constructs have been found to be closely correlated to FL achievement. In this article, the author has reviewed foreign language anxiety, language motivation and the relationship between language motivation and language anxiety.

Explaining the Private College Students＇ English Academic Ability by Social Cultural Perspective

From the perspective of the sociocultural theory （SCI）, this article examines Chinese students＇ present states of English academic achievements in some private colleges by investigating teacher-student interaction. It then analyzes underlying factors influencing learner＇s academic ability. Finally it investigates some efficient class teaching strategies to promote their academic development, using class interventions such as the know-want-learn strategy （KWL）, the object-explore-success-happy strategy （OESH）, the cooperative project between students and teacher＇s strategy （CPST） and so on. Theoretically, the paper aims to place the SCT perspectives in the foreground. Pedagogically, it attempts to raise teacher-practitioners＇ wisdom so as to enhance learners＇ English academic achievements from the affective perspective.

The Impact of Technology-Integrated Instruction to Elementary Students＇ Language Learning Motivation and Performance

This study aims to investigate technology-integrated language learning courses that benefit elementary language learners＇ desire to learn English （motivation） and how they are related to the student＇s performance. Theories guiding this investigation included Dornyei＇s L2 Motivational Self System and Gardner＇s Socio Psychological System to describe language learners＇ desire to learn （motivation）. Thirty-five 3rd grade elementary school students, who are learning English with technology at school, were included in this study. The result indicates that the features of technology students like to use while learning have positive and significant correlation with desire to learn English （motivation）; and their previous technology learning experience and motivation have significant influence on their final grade. This final analysis could provide a guideline for EFL teachers or students who are in teacher training programs to integrate technology into their future courses.

Language and Culture in Foreign Language Teaching

Culture plays a very important role in language teaching. A deep study of the relationship between language and culture is not only necessary but also urgent in language teaching and learning. The paper briefly points out that in order to make teaching more effective, teachers should not only teach the language itself, but also teach the culture in the language while teaching the foreign language. It analyzes the differences of language customs reflecting in different cultures among different languages （between European languages such as English, Russian and Asian languages such as Kazakh, Chinese）. The analysis of diversity of different social cultures and different language customs of commtmication shows that the culture has a great influence upon the language. It includes the next components： （1） diversity of different geographies, natural environment, and customs, （2） differences of the history, religion, and belief, and （3） diversity of different thoughts of understanding objectivities. Further suggestions concerning how to use culture factors in the teaching procedure are also introduced in detail, such as： （1） the teacher＇s role; （2） the way of explanation, （3） the way of contrast; and （4） the way of practice. In order to conduct foreign language teaching well, teachers must take up the teaching of culture and the teaching of language at the same time. As long as the emphasis is laid both linguistic skills and communicative competence, the goals of language teaching will be achieved satisfactorily.
