As the ionic stre...An analysis of Cr (Ⅵ)-sorbed surface of the soils by using a scanning electron microscope and an electron probe microscope has proved that aluminium is the chief element affecting Cr (Ⅵ) adsoption. As the ionic strength of the solution increased, the amounts of Cr (Ⅵ) adsorbed by goethite and soils decreased. Cr (Ⅵ) adsorption was greatly depressed in the presence of SO42-, WO42-, MoO42-, HPO42- and H2PO4- which competed for anion adsorption sites. The depressing extent of these anions was found to follow the sequence: HPO42-, H2PO4-> MoO42-> WO42-> SO42-> > Cl-, NO3-. The amounts of Cr (Ⅵ) desorption varied with different extractants. 0.5 M NH4F and 0.1 M KH2PO4 could be regarded as the best extractants for Cr (Ⅵ) sorbed in the soils. The mechanism of Cr (Ⅵ) adsorption by goethite and soils seemed to be similar to that of phosphate. Basically, Cr (Ⅵ) was adsorbed through specific adsorption and could not be desorbed by Cl- and NO3-. Cr (Ⅵ) adsorption on goethite released OH-. There was a significant correlation between the amounts of Cr (Ⅵ) adsorbed and pH variation in goethite suspension.展开更多
The potential of friction stir forming for joining dissimilar grades of aluminum alloys namely,AA 5052-H32 and AA 6061-T6,was investigated.Study on the effect of tool plunge depth revealed that,lap shear load of 7.16 ...The potential of friction stir forming for joining dissimilar grades of aluminum alloys namely,AA 5052-H32 and AA 6061-T6,was investigated.Study on the effect of tool plunge depth revealed that,lap shear load of 7.16 kN and cross-tensile load of 3.51 kN,recorded at medium tool plunge depth range from 0.5 to 0.7 mm,measured using a universal testing machine,were much larger than those of friction stir welded and friction stir spot welded joints fabricated on the same materials.Joint macrostructure observed with optical microscope revealed that joints were strengthened either by mechanical pin interlocking or by metallurgical bonding.The effect of tool plunge depth on the stir zone formation and the influence of frictional heat flux on the lower sheet were revealed through the microhardness measurement using Vickers hardness tester.Morphological studies revealed that tool plunge depth has a significant influence on the pin formation and the geometric features,generated in these joints.Occurrence of various failure modes such as pin pull-out,pin shear,partial bond delamination,and tear-off,were governed by the formation of critical weak zones at various tool plunge depths.展开更多

According to the location of the lesion, it can be divided into internal and external hordeolum. The early symptoms are redness, swelling, and pain in the eyelid. In severe cases, the condition can be accompanied with ipsilateral headache and swelling of the pre-auricular lymph node. Since TCM bloodletting has remarkable effect for treating hordeolum at the early stage, we would like to recommend this simple, easy and effective treatment to doctors who are interested in physiocracy.展开更多

At the late stage, i.e. the period of uremia, it may be complicated with abnormalities of various systems. Along with the development and popularization of hemodialysis, the survival time of uremic patients can be prolonged, but uremic pruritus affects greatly the quality of life of the patients.
