Ecosystem health: ecological sustainability target of strategic environment assessment

Strategic environment assessment (SEA) and ecosystem health are two new ideas on environmental management. On the basis of reviewing some relevant literature, this paper made discussions on the ecological sustainability target of SEA, the content of ecosystem health as well as the interrelations between SEA and ecosystem health. For a good SEA, its ecological sustainability principles should be provided with distinct content and a general assessment system. A framework for ecosystem health assessment was established according to the content of ecosystem health, and combined into SEA as SEA抯 ecological sustainability target, we can effectively guide decision-makers to make suitable indigenous means and local solutions. , The basic principles and procedure of SEA for ecosystem health are also discussed in the paper.

Study on the knowledge management of strategic alliances in high technology enterprises

With the development of knowledge economy, the competition between high teehnology enterprises has gradually evolved into the competition of core competence based on knowledge, because high technology enterprises are typical knowledge-based enterprises. Few enterprises, especially for high technology firms, have all of the knowledge they need to compete effectively in the marketplace both at home and abroad, so more and more high technology companies are taking the advantage of strategic alliances to get their complementary knowledge. Since knowledge is the source of an enterprise＇ s competitiveness, knowledge management has become the most important means for enterprises to gain competitive advantage. There has been an increased growth in the literature on strategic alliances in recent decades. But what is less discussed in the existing literature on strategic alliances is the issue of knowledge management of strategic alliances in high technology enterprises. Based on the characteristics of strategic alliances in high technology enterprises, and in line with the implication and the goal of knowledge management, this study tries to delve into this issue. The paper analyzes the key factors relevant to the knowledge management of strategic alliances in high technology enterprises and proposes guidelines on the process and measures that should be taken in the knowledge management of strategic alliances in high technology enterprises.

Analysis on stability of strategic alliance: A game theory perspective

Strategic alliance has suffered much instabilities since its first implementation. Scholars have carried out many em- bedded, precise and comprehensive researches from both theory and empiricism. Here we try to find certain stable solutions by employing game theory, in an attempt to construct theoretical bases for strategic alliance, which people called “one of the most important organizational innovation in the end of the 20th century” (Shi, 2001), to exploit its advantages in the process of glob- alization. Finally, this article puts forward some advices for its success.

AN ELEMENTARY ANALYSIS OF PROBLEMS IN APPLICATION OF SPACE METHOD IN STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF ENTERPRISES

Although it is still a new and developing subject, strategic management of enterprises, the importance of which will be understood by more and more enterprises as the reform and development is deepened, will surely be applied finally. This paper expounds how to apply the Delphi method to determine the essential elements in management and to evaluate enterprises in strategic position and action evaluation (SPACE) method of strategic management of enterprises. Meanwhile, its determination and evaluation are so realistic that they describe the strategic positions at which enterprises may be in the present competitive environment, and they establish a basis for enterprises to correctly choose their strategies of development.

Study on enterprise cost strategy implementation methods

Based on comparative analysis of different perspectives related to enterprise strategic cost management or strategic management process, the author considers that the process of strategic cost management includes two major steps as strategy formulation and strategy implementation. The cost strategic management methods can be classified as cost strategy formulation methods and implementation methods according to the strategic cost management process; and the cost strategy implementation methods are divided into strategy implementation basis confirmation method, organizational implementation method, supervision （surveillance） and variance （performance） analysis ＆ adjustment method according to the contents to be implemented.

Corporation Strategic Investment on Behavioral Finance

The traditional DCF approach ignoring the managerial flexibility of the decision makers often underestimates the value of project value. This paper not only takes into account the uncertainty of investment and the irreversibility of the sunk cost, but also takes the competitors＇ erode to the project value into it. Relax the EMH and the rationality of the investor＇s hypothesis, integrate the behavioral finance theory and the game option, and construct the valuing frame based on the behavioral finance and game option theory to make a scientific and effective project decision-making approach.

Schmitt, Kant, and the Theory of International Relations： Reflecting the Problems of Just War, Unipolarism, and Political Realism

Concerning international relations theory, the work of Immanuel Kant was hitherto reflected in terms of the liberal paradigm, particularly of the democratic peace, whereas Carl Schmitt was predominantly associated with the assumptions of political realism or--at least for a short period Nazi imperialism. However, these differences seem to have taken a back seat since both thinkers have been adopted to legitimate the convictions of imperial liberalism. In contrast, this article will show that Schmitt and Kant have essentially more in common than generally assumed but do precisely argue against just war theory, humanitarian interventions, and a unipolar world. On the other hand, Kant＇s liberal and Schmitt＇s illiberal theory do not apply to the classical paradigms of intemational relations. Instead, Schmitt＇s Political Theology and Kant＇s Political Philosophy will be compared along with the antagonistic logic （and ethics） of political existentialism and a peaceful interdependence between states and nations. Considering the contemporary crisis of world order, it should be even plausible that the two dominating paradigms of future international relations might be formed by Kantian and Schmittian premises. Thus, the aim of this paper is not to match Kant and Schmitt once again with the usual approaches in international relations theory but to stretch its theoretical and conceptual spectrum by extracting the inventive contribution both thinkers made to important topics of IR.

AVO Character Research of Natural Gas Hydrates in the East China Sea

Natural gas hydrates are considered as strategic resources with commercial potential in the 21st century. Obvious BSR characteristics will be shown on seismic profiles, if there exist natural gas hydrates. The AVO method is one of the methods which can be used to identify and forecast lithologic characteristics and fluid properties by using the relationship between Amplitude and Offset. AVO anomaly is one of the significant signs to check out whether or not there is free gas below the BSR, so it can be used to detect natural gas hydrates from the seismic profile. Considering the geological and geophysical characteristics of the Okinawa Trough and making use of the techniques mentioned above, we can conclude that the conditions there are favorable for the formation and concentration of natural gas hydrates. By analyzing the data collected from the study area, one can discover many different anomalous phenomena on the seismic profile which are related to the existence of natural gas hydrates. Preliminary estimation of the natural gas hydrates in the Okinawa Trough shows that the trough is rich in natural gas hydrates and may become a potential important resources exploration area.

The resource-based project cooperation model in the strategic alliance with neural network

This study proposed a neural network model of resource-based project cooperation in the strategic alliance. From the angel of project, it is assumed that alliance members work together to process a project with equipment, labor force and capital. The greatest output of project could be forecasted. Afterwards, on the basis of constructing utility function of profit, resources constraint, resources input risk, synthetically utility function is obtained. With above work, the neural network model is established under the condition of many cooperative members. Finally, using one kind of new neural net means, we have carded on the imitation resolution as to the variable value of the latter model.

Perianal Crohn's disease: Is there something new?

Perianal lesions are common in patients with Crohn's disease, and display aggressive behavior in some cases. An accurate diagnosis is necessary for the optimal management of perianal lesions. Treatment of perianal Crohn's disease includes medical and/or surgical options. Recent discoveries in the pathogenesis of this disease have led to advances in medical and surgical therapy with good results. Perianal lesions in Crohn's disease remain a challenging aspect for both gastroenterologists and surgeons and lead to a greatly impaired quality of life for all patients affected by this disease. A multidisciplinary approach is mandatory to obtain the best results.

Research on Strategic Human Resource Incentive Mechanism

Based on an enterprise as an example, this paper tries to through the analysis of the enterprise current problems of incentive system, on the basis of a thorough investigation into the current situation of enterprise human resource management, strategic management theory and experience at home and abroad for reference, design a corporate strategy development oriented human resource incentive mechanism, in order to help the enterprises to formulate scientific and effective incentive management system to provide policy recommendations. The proposal to our country modern enterprise to establish scientific human resource incentive mechanism has certain applicability and reference value.

Does Innovation Drive Sustainable Competitive Advantages？

This paper examines the critical role of innovations as a driver for sustainable competitive advantages. A quadruple model of global strategy is introduced. The model is based on the introduction of an innovation-based perspective of strategy. This is in addition to the other three but well-known perspectives of global strategy （industry-based, resource-based, and institution-based views）. Thus, the four perspectives of strategy could lead a complete set of factors that need to be analyzed for the formulation of global strategy. The model could assist organizations in sustaining their competitive advantages. It is proposed that the introduction of the innovation-based view represents the fourth perspective of a strategy quadruple, thus overcoming a long-standing criticism, namely, the global strategy may lack adequate attention to innovation in developing a firms＇ global competitive strategies. This paper presents a set of four hypotheses. When tested, these hypotheses could result in a better understanding of the link between the innovation and the global strategy domain. Furthermore, the quadruple model could be useful in understanding the relationship between innovativeness and business performance. It is anticipated that this paper could assist researchers, business management, and analysts in developing global innovation strategies.

Analyses on web-based product data management

This paper is concerned with the development of product data management （PDM） systems--WPDM systems based on web technologies. As a tool to integrate information, traditional PDM system has many benefits for the companies in such aspects as improving design productivity, better control over projects and so on. With the maturing of web technologies, the advantages of WPDM system are obvious. We will show these advantages in detail in Part 3. WPDM system is built on three-tier application model to provide security and flexibility, they are back-end, middle layer and front-end. The basic designs in each layer will be briefly introduced in Part 4. In the future, WPDM will be extended to integrate with other applications to provide a complete web-based engineering environment.

Firm Risk Profile, Agency Incentives and Corporate Performance： Corporate Governance Perspective of Uganda

This paper focuses on the relationship between firm risk profile, agency incentives and corporate performance using correlation study and cross-sectional approach. We conceptualise firm risk profile using the balanced score card and differ from previous studies, on the above variables, by capturing the perceptual sets of strategic leadership of Ugandan firms who are members of corporate governance of Uganda. We post a significant negative relationship between firm risk profile and corporate performance, a significant negative relationship between firm risk profile and agency incentives and a positive relationship between agency incentives and corporate performance By employing Joseph and Scott （2006）＇s utilization of the balanced score card to identify the four forms of firm risk （namely, financial, customer, internal and learning and growth risks）, our results support the application of agency theory as a relevant theoretical framework for dealing with managers who are risk averse.
