The Davy Process Technology Company subordinated to Johnson Matthew Corporation has signed with the Shenhua Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. a contract on providing the methanol synthesis technology, basic engineering design a...The Davy Process Technology Company subordinated to Johnson Matthew Corporation has signed with the Shenhua Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. a contract on providing the methanol synthesis technology, basic engineering design and methanol synthesis catalyst to the 1.83 Mt/a coal-to-methanol unit constructed by the Shenhua Company in Baotou city. The Shenhua Company intending to invest $1.0-2.0 billion is engaging in the construction of an integrated petrochemical unit and will use methanol to manufacture olefins and polyolefins. The phase I methanol project will be developed by Xi'an Hualu Industry Co., Ltd., and the detailed engineering design of the phase II project will be proposed for tendering. Manufacture of olefins from methanol will adopt either the UOP-Hydro process or the domestic technology. The total capacity of ethylene and propylene production will be 600 kt/a. The whole integrated petrochemical plant is slated for commissioning by 2010.展开更多

The first one is the Blue Star Chemical & New Material Stock Co., Ltd., which will construct a 55 kt/a 1,4-butandiol unit in Nanjing, using maleic anhydride as the starting material to manufacture 1,4- butandiol and tetrahydrofuran by means of the ester hydrogenation technique licensed by DPT. The feedstock needed by this project will be provided by local producer and this unit is scheduled to come on stream by the fourth quarter of 2008. The second licensee is the Shanxi Sanwei Group, which will construct a 70 kt/a 1,4-butandiol unit in Hongtong county using the similar technology to manufacture 1,4-butandiol and g-butyrolactone. The starting material-maleic anhydride-will be sourced from the nearby producer, and construction of this project is slated to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2007.展开更多
