First, the relevance feedback isadapted to refine the recognition results and reduce the ambiguity incrementally based on theestablishment of a feature-based vector model of a user's sketches. Secondly, a dynamic usermodeling is introduced to model the user's sketching habits based on recording and analyzinghistorical information incrementally. A model-based matching strategy is also employed in the methodto recognize sketches dynamically. Experiments prove that the proposed method is both effective andefficient.展开更多
In micro-blogging contexts such as Twitter,the number of content producers can easily reach tens of thousands,and many users can participate in discussion of any given topic.While many users can introduce diversity,as...In micro-blogging contexts such as Twitter,the number of content producers can easily reach tens of thousands,and many users can participate in discussion of any given topic.While many users can introduce diversity,as not all users are equally influential,it makes it challenging to identify the true influencers,who are generally rated as being interesting and authoritative on a given topic.In this study,the influence of users is measured by performing random walks of the multi-relational data in micro-blogging:retweet,reply,reintroduce,and read.Due to the uncertainty of the reintroduce and read operations,a new method is proposed to determine the transition probabilities of uncertain relational networks.Moreover,we propose a method for performing the combined random walks for the multi-relational influence network,considering both the transition probabilities for intra-and inter-networking.Experiments were conducted on a real Twitter dataset containing about 260 000 users and 2.7million tweets,and the results show that our method is more effective than TwitterRank and other methods used to discover influencers.展开更多

It discusses the case study method and its role and focusing on research questions like healthcare branding, research design, and methodic. Also presents the case study research theory for a research case study. The methods used in this paper are based on hypothesis of a generic hospital branding strategy for the Romanian Private Hospital and also may apply to the Romanian strategy of development of public healthcare entities and partnerships between public and private healthcare entities. An empirical test of the relationships among branding loyalty and awareness, customer satisfaction, trust and relationship commitment suggests that Romanian hospitals can be successful in creating an image and positive brand equity if they can manage their customer relationships well. This can be done through a coordinated strategy of management and marketing development of healthcare entities. The results highlight the dominance of case-study research in qualitative marketing healthcare and highlight the importance of customer relationships in the branding practice of healthcare marketing. It also shows that marketing managers can succeed in creating positive brand equity and image if they can manage relationships with their customers well.展开更多
Household medicine lease (HML) industry originated way back in the Edo period (17C-19C), when it was promoted by the local fiefdom government to revitalize the economy. Accumulations of wealth, acquired thereafter...Household medicine lease (HML) industry originated way back in the Edo period (17C-19C), when it was promoted by the local fiefdom government to revitalize the economy. Accumulations of wealth, acquired thereafter from everywhere outside the region, have culminated in the formation of the present-day industrial cluster in Toyama, the largest in the whole area facing the Sea of Japan. Today an adaptation of the quasi-CRM (customer relationship management) business model of the HML system has proved to be a success in Mongolia. This fact seems to offer the authors some clues for dealing with those problems that healthcare and medical services in Japan and elsewhere are riddled with. In this paper, focusing on the common critical success factors (CSFs) behind the success of the authors' prototype HML system and its recent successful application in Mongolia, the authors will analyze these factors from the perspective of CRM. This study examines the elements of the service encounter, and the changes automation originates in them and their relationships. The paper also examines changes in the elements and results of the operations subsystem, as a result of automation. We propose that the customer's relationship with employees and/or technology and automated systems for the service impact the objectives and results of the operations subsystem, all of which could have an effect on the company's competitive position. The empirical study is focused on four industries, namely, toll motorways, car parks, carwash and video/DVD rental companies, in an attempt to identify objectives that lead companies to implement automated processes affecting the customer's relationship with the company. The hypotheses generated are contrasted with a structural equation modelling. The results confirm that the customer's relationship with employees and automated systems for the service impacts the objectives and results of the operations subsystem. Also, the results show how automation can enable firms simultaneously to achieve acceptable levels of flexibility and productivity, two dimensions that have traditionally been considered opposites.展开更多
The study aims to focus upon the association between the auditors and companies by indicating how this association affects the quality of audit and auditor independence in a developing country (the case of Bahrain)....The study aims to focus upon the association between the auditors and companies by indicating how this association affects the quality of audit and auditor independence in a developing country (the case of Bahrain). To achieve these objectives, a questionnaire was developed and distributed to respondents from audit firms in Bahrain. Descriptive statistics were used to analyse the influence of auditor-client association upon quality of audit and auditor independence and how audit quality and auditor independence are improved was also explored in the study. The results show that all the questions (1-8) in the questionnaire impair both audit quality and auditor independence with the means ranging from 3.6000 to 4.0364 with an average mean of 3.7212. According to the measurement scale, any item with a mean of 3.50 or more is acceptable, and since all the influences are above 3.50, they are all acceptable. Regarding how auditor-client relationship (or long tenured auditor) would improve both quality of audit and auditor independence, the results show that all the questions (9-17) would improve both audit quality and auditor independence with the means ranging from 3.6364 to 4.0727 with an average of 3.8646, which are acceptable. These results confirm statistically that there is a significant relationship between the auditor long-term tenure and audit quality and auditor independence, so the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Simple regression analysis is employed to test the hypothesis of the study and its significance. The results show that (H0) hypothesis is not significant. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is significant at p 〈 0.005, which means that there are differences in viewpoints among respondents and the p-value obtained is 0.044 which is less than the significant value of p 〈 0.05. These results confirm the hypothesis that a significant relationship exists between the auditor long-term tenure and quality of audit and auditor independence.展开更多

Oman is one of the most preferred destinations for the tourists especially after the declaration of Muscat, Arab tourism Capital for 2012. Thus to materialize this honor and position, the scientific study and analysis of tourist behavior will help to predict the future trend of tourism and will give direction for effort investment. This work presents a novel strategy to identify, analyze and highlights the main tourist behavioral factors that could increase tourists' loyalty to a specific destination or agency. The analytical TSS (tourism support system) will also classify customers into two categories--first category will be classified as "LT (loyal tourists)" and second category as "NLT (non-loyal tourists)". Dataset is collected from a tourism business organization. Twenty-four attributes and 545 instances were collected and were analyzed by algorithms like logistics, forest of random trees, naive Bayes, J48 and Id3. The explanatory variables were defined, and some transformations were done to identify the response variable. Entropy was used and adapted in order to find the response variable from the explanatory variables. The results obtained from this work confirm that the generated rules can be used for future prediction and tourism business can be improved and efforts can be directed in right place for the right consumer resulting in high return on investment.展开更多

Cloud systems have distinct characteristics that differentiate it from traditional internet services, due to a number of significant innovation factors. For example, firms need improved access to high-speed intemet as well as access to customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) capacities. This means that the interest of many firms in the implementation of cloud systems has increased. Although cloud systems are designed to facilitate knowledge transfer, currently, there is no method to ensure that knowledge transfer is useful or relevant to a firm. This in turn means that finns need to ensure that the cloud system has the capabilities to screen knowledge for compliance against some known knowledge characteristics. The use of cloud systems could result in an efficient delivery of innovation knowledge in an effective way. However, the user association and resource allocation mechanism has not been thoroughly studied under given content placement situation. In this paper, we formulate the joint optimization problem of user association and resource allocation as a mixed integer nonlinear programming(MINLP) problem aiming at deriving a balance between the total utility of data rates and the total data rates retrieved from caches. To solve this problem, we propose a distributed relaxing-rounding method. Simulation results demonstrate that the distributed relaxing-rounding method outperforms traditional max-SINR method and range-expansion method in terms of both total utility of data rates and total data rates retrieved from caches in practical scenarios. In addition, effects of storage and backhaul capacities on the performance are also studied.展开更多

In this essay, Simmons critically engages Plato's dialogue Crito and culls from it three types of strategies for justifying political obligations: natural duty, associative, and transactional. Simmons argues that natural duty accounts are inherently incapable of providing moral grounding for political obligations, disqualifies both associative and transactional accounts on empirical grounds, and settles for a form of anarchism. I argue, assuming as Simmons does in this essay that natural duties imply obligations of support and obedience to political institutions, that the natural duty strategy promises to provide an escape route out of anarchism.展开更多

This means that the interest of many firms in the implementation of cloud systems has increased. Although cloud systems are designed to facilitate knowledge transfer, currently, there is no method to ensure that knowledge transfer is useful or relevant to a firm. This in turn means that finns need to ensure that the cloud system has the capabilities to screen knowledge for compliance against some known knowledge characteristics. The use of cloud systems could result in an efficient delivery of innovation knowledge in an effective way. This paper presents an approach for assessment of the successful implementation of cloud systems. This paper also discusses the various success factors of cloud systems for global innovation.
文摘The focus of the article is on the contribution of the perspective of supply chain management (SCM) to the explanation of internationalization processes. The empirical study is based on case studies of 20 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with international activities from China, India, New Zealand, and Singapore. All chosen firms were founded after 1980 in order to capture retrospectively the whole globalization process of each firm. All sample firms operate their supply chains (SCs) on the basis of information and communications technology (ICT). Depending on size, strategy, business model, industry, and mindset of the managers, firms use ICT on a range from integrating individual functional areas to integrating the whole SC through enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

文摘Massive MIMO systems have got extraordinary spectral efficiency using a large number of base station antennas,but it is in the challenge of pilot contamination using the aligned pilots.To address this issue,a selective transmission is proposed using time-shifted pilots with cell grouping,where the strong interfering users in downlink transmission cells are temporally stopped during the pilots transmission in uplink cells.Based on the spatial characteristics of physical channel models,the strong interfering users are selected to minimize the inter-cell interference and the cell grouping is designed to have less temporally stopped users within a smaller area.Furthermore,a Kalman estimator is proposed to reduce the unexpected effect of residual interferences in channel estimation,which exploits both the spatial-time correlation of channels and the share of the interference information.The numerical results show that our scheme significantly improves the channel estimation accuracy and the data rates.

Based on reading literatures and field research, We build CRM tourist management by taking the ancient city of Lijiang in Yunnan Province as an example, highlight the management of the tourist. This paper presents a framework for tourist management system and some advices to other resorts.

文摘In this paper, a multicarrier DS-CDMA system which employs Z-Complementary Se- quences (ZCS) as spreading code is investigated. The new system can not only eliminate multipath interference and Multiple Access Interference (MAI), but also support flexible number of users com- pared with system using Orthogonal Complementary (OC) codes. Multicarrier DS-CDMA using OC codes can be regarded as a special case of our proposed system. Zero Correlation Zone (ZCZ) of ZCS can be flexibly adjusted to meet the requirements on the user number and maximum multipath and in- ter-user delay, in this way, more users can be supported without losing interference-free property. The effectiveness of the proposed system is validated through theoretical analysis and simulation results.
文摘This paper presents a novel blind adaptive noncoherent decorrelative multiuser detector for nonlinearly modulated satellite mobile Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems. By using the known signature waveforms of the counterpart earth station in the blind adaptive multiuser detector, the system performance has been improved obviously. The computation results about the convergence properties of the new detector and the previous detectors demonstrate that the proposed multiuser detector has better performance than previous multiuser detectors for nonlinearly modulated CDMA systems.
文摘This paper describes a linear interference cancellation multi user detector for synchronous DS CDMA systems under the condition that all spread spectrum code waveforms have the constant cross correlating coefficients. The basic idea is to get the estimation for total multiple access interference (MAI) of all users using a reference code waveform, then subtract the total MAI from the received signal. The structure of such a detector is nearly similar to the conventional detector. The BER expression obtained in the paper shows significant performance improvement compared to the other detectors.

文摘Cache-enabled small cell networks have been regarded as a promising approach for network operators to cope with the explosive data traffic growth in future 5 G networks. However, the user association and resource allocation mechanism has not been thoroughly studied under given content placement situation. In this paper, we formulate the joint optimization problem of user association and resource allocation as a mixed integer nonlinear programming(MINLP) problem aiming at deriving a balance between the total utility of data rates and the total data rates retrieved from caches. To solve this problem, we propose a distributed relaxing-rounding method. Simulation results demonstrate that the distributed relaxing-rounding method outperforms traditional max-SINR method and range-expansion method in terms of both total utility of data rates and total data rates retrieved from caches in practical scenarios. In addition, effects of storage and backhaul capacities on the performance are also studied.
文摘Are citizens morally obligated to obey and support their states? "Political Obligations and Authority" is perhaps A. John Simmons' most comprehensive summary of his mature views on this enduring philosophical problem. In this essay, Simmons critically engages Plato's dialogue Crito and culls from it three types of strategies for justifying political obligations: natural duty, associative, and transactional. Simmons argues that natural duty accounts are inherently incapable of providing moral grounding for political obligations, disqualifies both associative and transactional accounts on empirical grounds, and settles for a form of anarchism. I argue, assuming as Simmons does in this essay that natural duties imply obligations of support and obedience to political institutions, that the natural duty strategy promises to provide an escape route out of anarchism.
