The rs2294021 Foxp3 polymorphism contributes to Foxp3 down-regulation, thereby weakens its tumor suppressing activity. The aim of our study was to evaluate the potential influence of Foxp3 polymorphism on breast cancer, we conducted a case-control study in Han Chinese women. Methods: Foxp3 genotyping was conducted in 677 breast carcinoma patients and 828 age-frequency matched cancer-free controls. Genotypes were determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. Experiment data was analyzed using Chi-square test and SPSS software. Results: The T/C genotype was found to be significantly associated with increased risk of breast carcinoma occurrence (OR = 1.462; 95% CI 1.165-1.833, P = 0.001) compared with the T/T or C/C (OR 1.143; 95% CI 0.838-1.559, P = 0.397) genotype. The increased risk for breast carcinoma related to heterozygous genotype was more pronounced in subjects over 50 years (OR 1.631; 95% CI 1.116-2.383, P = 0.011). No significant association was found between the polymorphism and the ER/PR status, metastasis or tumor stage of breast cancer. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that rs2294021 Foxp3 polymorphism may be a potential contributor for development of breast carcinoma in Han Chinese women.展开更多

They have also been major contributors to the processes of promoting economic development since China's reform and China's industrialization and urbanization. Along with im- provements in the worldwide industrial division of labor and the gradual implementation of China's development zones' Go Global strategy, it is necessary for Africa, a hot spot of global industrialization in recent years, to learn from China's development zone model. By attracting China's capital, technology and enterprises to Africa via Sino-African co-built development zones, a pattern of high com- plementarity and mutual development between China and Africa can be formed which does favor further improvement of the global industrial division of labor. In order to study the applicability and prospect of China's development zone model in Africa as per the above-mentioned international situation, this paper first sorts out the development course of China's development zones and discusses their roles in China's industrialization and urbanization. Subsequently, this paper analyzes the status quo of industrial development in Africa as a whole and the differences in industrial development between China and Africa, aiming to justify the timing of industrial transfer from China to Africa by constructing Sino-African co-built development zones. Lastly, this paper analyzes the current situation of six Sino-African co-built development zones by focusing on their operation modes, industry types and investment promotion models. In the authors' view, Sino-African co-built development zones can function as a new window of China-African cooperation, a new car- rier of African industrialization, and a new engine of global industrial restructuring. China should adhere to the general principles of 'Sino-African Integration, Multi-Cooperation, Mutual Benefit, Scientific Location, Systematic Planning, Cluster Growth and Open De- velopment' in the planning and construction of development zones in Africa, effectively promoting Africa as the very important part of the global industry system.展开更多

After 2003, the government adopted a program to manage the housing crisis and satisfy housing needs. Through a fieldwork survey, we aimed to present this program by reviewing the government targets, main housing problems, governmental legislations, and construction process. We found that the government abandoned its centralized role in its National Housing Project as it opened the door of Iraqi housing market to foreign and local investors. We also found that, considering the enormous need for housing the occupancy rate of the governmental housing units are so low and construction is also generally slow. We deduced that the pricing model of the government's national housing project is far from our general notion of public housing for low-income post-war people. Moreover, it is necessary for the government to formulate a clearer strategic vision and to adopt more innovative approaches to address effectively and rapidly the trade-offs of the short and long terms objectives of the reconstruction process in post-war Iraq.展开更多

Whereas Nguyen Kings lived in the Purple Forbidden City (the third wall of the Citadel), other members of royal families and high-ranking mandarins lived in Hue Traditional Garden Houses (HTGHs) constructed around and in the Citadel area. This paper is a part of the research that focuses on an approach for sustainable live conservation and application of HTGHs into contemporary use. In this paper, the study aims to consider effects of the Citadel on the layout and arrangement of HTGHs located in its' area by studying alteration in layout elements of those house. Based on field surveys of 91 HTGHs in the Citadel area, it is found that although those houses are altered into various configurations under the impacts of urbanization and modernization, several important traditional elements in layout such as Binh Phong (masonry screen), Be Can (basin), and facing orientation have been maintained, and their layouts reflect a miniature image of Hue Citadel, i.e., there is an integral relationship between the Citadel and HTGHs located in it. This relationship plays an important role for expressing one of unique characteristics of Hue cultural asset, which is unavailable in other regions of Vietnam.展开更多

Methods In this study, we regulated the expression of miR-375, to evaluate its influence on the 14-3-3ζ/ERK/MYC pathway in NSCLC. Results The results of our experiments suggest that miR-375 and 14-3-3ζ are highly expressed in NSCLC, and the over-expression of miR-375 increases the invasive, metastatic, and proliferative ability and decreases the apoptotic ability of NSCLC cells. In addition, protein expression levels of 14-3-3ζ, p-ERK, and MYC increased following the overexpression of miR-375. Conclusion Overall, our findings indicate that miR-375 increases the malignant potential of NSCLC via the 14-3-3ζ/ERK/MYC pathway.展开更多

The methodology consisted of characterization of the case study, survey data of water consumption and data of precipitation in the area, on-site visits to define the average consumption and monthly water distribution, and sizing of a rainwater harvesting tank following the Netuno Program. It was obtained 22.500 L as the ideal volume for the tank, supplying the demand for drinkingwater in 32%, although the reduction in the drinking water bills would be minor, since the object of the case study is considered SIH, and residents pay a fixed fee for consuming up to 10 m3 per month. Therefore, it becomes necessary to analyze this situation from a sustainable and environmental perspective, and the benefits are no longer only economic, but rather they take on a more comprehensive social dimension.展开更多

Although RelB has been well accepted to be a critical transcriptional factor for mTEC development, the underlying mechanisms still remain largely unclear. In this study, by generating thymic epithelial cell specific RelB deficient mice, we found that epithelial intrinsic RelB is required for mTEC homeostatic proliferation. The Cdc42ep family proteins have been identified to bind to Cdc42, yet how they interact with Cdc42 to regulate cell migration remains to be elucidated. In this study, we focus on Cdc42epl, which is expressed predominantly in the highly migratory neural crest ceils in frog embryos. Through morpholino-mediated knockdown, we show that Cdc42epl is required for the migration of cranial neural crest cells. Loss of Cdc42epl leads to rounder cell shapes and the formation of membrane blebs, consistent with the observed disruption in actin organization and focal adhesion alignment. As a result, Cdc42ep1 is critical for neural crest cells to apply traction forces at the correct place to migrate efficiently. We further show that Cdc42ep1 is localized to two areas in neural crest celts: in membrane protrusions together with Cdc42 and in perinuciear patches where Cdc42 is absent. Cdc42 directly interacts with Cdc42epl (through the CRIB domain) and changes in Cdc42 level shift the distribution of Cdc42epl between these two subcellular locations, controlling the formation of membrane protrusions and directionality of migration as a consequence. These results suggest that Cdc42ep1 elaborates Cdc42 activity in neural crest cells to promote their efficient migration.展开更多

In this study, a novel Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x heterostructure was synthesized by a simple hydrobromic (HBr) acid etching method through transforming partial of Bi5O7I to I ion doped BiOBr (BiOBrxI1-x) at room temperature without adding extra dopant. Both the band structure and component content of Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x alter with the additive HBr acid. The Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x (S3.0) sample exhibits the best photocatalytic activity, 6 times higher than that of pure Bis071, for the degradation of methyl orange under visible-light (2 〉 420 nm). The activity enhancement of Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x is primarily ascribed to the improved separation efficiency of photocharges, originated from the adjustable band structure and component content, The significant findings of this paper provide a facile way to construct highly efficient semiconductor heterojunction via playing the synergetic effect of adjustable band struc- ture and component content for purifying organic pollutants in wastewater.展开更多

Cdc42 directly interacts with Cdc42epl (through the CRIB domain) and changes in Cdc42 level shift the distribution of Cdc42epl between these two subcellular locations, controlling the formation of membrane protrusions and directionality of migration as a consequence. These results suggest that Cdc42ep1 elaborates Cdc42 activity in neural crest cells to promote their efficient migration.

文摘Band structure and component content are the key factors for determining the activity of semiconductor heterojunction. The activity enhancement of Bi5O7I/BiOBrxI1-x is primarily ascribed to the improved separation efficiency of photocharges, originated from the adjustable band structure and component content, The significant findings of this paper provide a facile way to construct highly efficient semiconductor heterojunction via playing the synergetic effect of adjustable band struc- ture and component content for purifying organic pollutants in wastewater.
