According to the identification theory, the frequency characteristic was achieved with the Matlab/ Ident toolbox. Then parametric model was established by adopting the subsection linearization method, and the damp value was estimated. The curve and function of damp changing with speed ratio was also established by fitting. In order to validate the identification results, the experimental output was compared with the output of the model in which torque was chosen as input signal and speed as output signal in Matlab/Ident toolbox. It was shown that model output is in good agreement with experimental output.展开更多

Phys. 65 (2002) 599], thc interaction between the intrinsic spin of a particle and the mass source is calculated. It is shown that spin can interact with the gravitimagnetic field created by a rotational mass, where the spin-rotation coupling is also discussed. According to the recent torsion pendulum experiment with polarized electrons by Heckel et al. [Phys. Rev. To reduce the torsional vibration of the hybrid construction machinery complex shafting, torsional vibration active control was proposed. The three-mass model of coaxial shafting of hybrid construction machinery was established. The PID control and the fuzzy sliding mode control were chosen to weaken torsional vibration by controlling the motor speed and torque. The simulation results show that the fuzzy sliding mode control has 12% overshoot of the PID control when the engine torque changes. The active control is effective and can realize smooth power switch.展开更多

These observations are surprising because deformation twinnings have never been observed in their coarse-grained counterparts under normal conditions. Experimental evidences are introduced on non-equilibrium grain boundaries, deformation twinnings and partial dislocation emissions from grain boundaries. Some of these features can be explained by the results reported from molecular-dynamics simulations of pure FCC metals. Special emphasis is laid on the recent observations of high density hexagonal and rhombic shaped nanostructures with an average size of 3 nm in the A1-Mg alloys processed by high pressure torsion. A possible formation process of these nanostructures is proposed based on molecular-dynamics simulations.展开更多

The disc is subjected to time-harmonic torsional moment loadings. The half space under consideration consists of a number of layers with different thickness and material properties. Hankel transform techniques and transferring matrix method are used to solve the governing equations. The continuity of the displacement and stress fields between different layers enabled derivation of closed-form solutions in the transform domain. On the assumption that the contact between the disc and the half space is perfectly bonded, this dynamic mixed boundary-value problem can be reduced to dual integral equations, which are further reduced to Fredholm integral equations of the second kind and solved by numerical procedures. Selected numerical results for the dynamic impedance and displacement amplitude of the disc resting on different saturated models are presented to show the influence of the material and geometrical properties of both the saturated soil-foundation system and the nature of the load acting on it. The conclusions obtained can serve as guidelines for practical engineering.展开更多

The normal and tangential stress tensor components produced by axial-torsional deformations and vibrations in the propeller and intermediate shafts, under the influence of propeller-induced static and variable hydrodynamic excitations are also studied. The transfer matrix method related to the constant coefficients of differential equation solutions is used. The advantage of the latter as compared with a well-known method of transfer matrix associated with state vector is the possibility of reducing the number of multiplied matrices when adjacent shaft segments have the same material properties and diameters. The results show that there is no risk of buckling and confirm that the strength of the shaft line depends on the value of the static tangential stresses which is the most important component of the stress tensor.展开更多

One of the most interesting niches concerns the UAVs of moderate size (〈 1 m), also called MAVs (micro air vehicles). An aerodynamic study of the ULB (Universite Libre de Bruxelles) developed a ducted rotor MAV using the results of full-scale wind tunnel tests that allowed the determination of the platform speed envelope, the power requirements and the endurance characteristics for ISA sea level conditions. Although the ULB MAV appears similar to other ducted-rotor concepts, it fundamentally differs from them as it uses the downwash of a single rotor to compensate the electric motor main rotor torque and to achieve full control around the roll, pitch and yaw axes. This paper explains in detail the components layout of the MAV and the aerodynamic characteristics of the anti-torque blades.展开更多

Its kink and anti-kink solutions are presented explicitly. In particular, some exact multi-kink and anti-kink wave solutions are discussed and under some conditions, the kink and anti-kinks look like hat-shape solitons.
