PVS is a...Rigorous modeling could ensure correctness and could verify a reduced cost in embedded real-time system development for models. Software methods are needed for rigorous modeling of embedded real-time systems. PVS is a formal method with precise syntax and semantics defined. System modeled by PVS specification could be verified by tools. Combining the widely used UML with PVS, this paper provides a novel modeling and verification approach for embedded real-time systems. In this approach, we provide 1) a time-extended UML statechart for modeling dynamic behavior of an embedded real-time system; 2) an approach to capture timed automata based semantics from a timed statechart; and 3) an algorithm to generate a finite state model expressed in PVS specification for model checking. The benefits of our approach include flexibility and user friendliness in modeling, extendability in formalization and verification content, and better performance. Time constraints are modeled and verified and is a highlight of this paper.展开更多

The rapid development of communication technology, have changed the landscape of information searching especially among youth. Youth are increasingly inclined to seek information using the new media such as mobile new...The rapid development of communication technology, have changed the landscape of information searching especially among youth. Youth are increasingly inclined to seek information using the new media such as mobile news. Nevertheless, the massive information flows have caused difficulties in finding quality, relevance and credibility of information. Hence, this study was undertaken to identify the problems encountered by the youth when searching for information through mobile news; to recognize the motivational factors in searching information through mobile news; and to find out the acceptance factor in searching information through mobile news. The underlying theory in this research is using Diffusion of Innovation Theory (DOI). Employing a quantitative approach, a total of 400 respondents from higher learning institutes were selected to be the respondents of this study. The data were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 21.0. Results of the study show that the problems faced when seeking information through mobile news is information disorder. Further, motivational factors that encourage information seeking through mobile news by youth are related to advantage and observability. At the same time, seeking information through mobile news is accepted by the youth due to their perceived ease of use. In conclusion, it is hoped that the mobile news could be one of the leading learning medium among the youth in the future.展开更多

Many companies greatly rely on computers and software to provide accurate information to effectively manage their business processes. It is becoming increasingly necessary for all businesses to incorporate information technology solutions to operate successfully. One way for many corporations to adopt information technology (IT) on a large scale is by installing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to accomplish their business transactions and data-processing needs. ERP systems are software packages that enable the integration of business processes throughout an organization. This study aims to determine the effect of the ERP system on the cost of auditing period compared with traditional computerized (non-ERP) systems. According to cost analysis, the study also points out the changes in audit price. The methodology used in this research is survey-based data collection. The questionnaires are sent to auditors who are working with companies with ERP systems. The answers are processed and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 20. The data are performed using the statistical test to determine the effect of ERP usage on the cost of auditing process and pricing policy of auditors. The findings of this study are: (1) Companies with ERP systems are reducing their auditing costs; and (2) Auditing companies are not implying a low rate of price to their customers using ERP.展开更多

Of high performance application requirements of various kinds are springing up constantly makes parallel computer system structure is valued by more and more common but the corresponding software system development lags far behind the development of the hardware system, it is more obvious in the field of database technology application. Multimedia mining is different from the low level of computer multimedia processing technology and the former focuses on the extracted from huge multimedia collection mode which focused on specific features of understanding or extraction from a single multimedia objects. Our research provides new paradigm for the methodology which will be meaningful and necessary.展开更多
